The Missing Chao - Chapter 8

A few moments later, "I... need.... to go to... the.... the... BATHROOM!" Amy shrieked as Team Ring climbed up a tall hill.

Sonic, without any word, unzipped his red backpack and threw out a roll of white toilet paper. He pointed towards a nearby oak tree.

"Thanks!" she picked up the roll and hurried to the tree so she could do her own private business.

Suddenly, Tails heard a faint voice, "Sonic!" He tapped Sonic's shoulder, "I think I heard someone calling your name!"

"Is it Eggman?" the blue blur turned around.

"No."

"Possibly someone from Team Emerald?"

"The voice doesn't sound like Shadow, Blaze, Silver, Floee, or Rouge's."

"We gotta check whose yelling my name. C'mon, guys, let's find out!"

"But will it distract us from our mission?" Knuckles was cautious.

"Nope, we'll return to our mission shortly."

Once Amy returned, the Ring Team rushed towards the source of the voice. Their feet simply flew, no matter how much they asked. Tree branches brushing their fur were only like fingernails scratching them; large rocks scraping their pelts were only like piles of felt rubbing them. It's always painless to have speed and fur.

"STOP RUNNING!!!" Sonic immediately alerted. The others came to a sharp halt. The 5 mammals were now upon the foot of a cliff. On the top was a small cavern.

"Sonic and friends, come in!" the voice hollered again.

"It's coming from the cave!" Tails used his powerful ears. "We must reach the top as if they were the stars."

"We can try to fly," Cream suggested.

Amy moaned, "I DIDN'T BRING MY PIKO PIKO HAMMER- Oh wait, it's in my bag." She tugged the giant hammer out and was ready to spin herself into the air.

"Grab my legs!" she squealed.

"Sorry, but I'll grab Tails' instead," Sonic replied.

At last, Tails swiveled his tails and lifted himself and Sonic into the sky. Knuckles (he can glide), Amy, and Cream followed later. The Mobians set afoot in front of the cavern and began to explore the dank space. ("Dank" here refers to its true definition.)

"I eye a couple flames!" Cream pointed out.

Tails added, "And some Chaos Emera-"

"Hello, my friends."

He suddenly looked down and there was a greenish-yellow Choa wearing a silver necklace.

"A talking feral Chao!" Tails was shocked.

"Hello," the strange Chao introduced itself, "my name is Forest. I been alive since the birth of Mobius, so I'm one of the oldest and wisest Chao."

"How can you talk?" Cream was puzzled. "I've never seen a Chao that can speak like us."

"Wisdom," Forest answered, he turned to Knuckles, "I have seen your ancestors, including Tikal, when I was a Chaoling."

"Well, how come you know us?" Knuckles exclaimed. "Wisdom, maybe?"

"I have been watching you since have accomplished great deeds."

Another Chao soared out of the darkness, she had pink and red skin and was wearing a white lily on her head.

"Whose that?" Tails noticed her.

The female Chao responded (Chao do not have genders, but can be identified with one), "I'm Sunrise, Forest's mate. I'm also one of the oldest Chao but not that wise."

"Did you have any Chaolings?" Amy was so interested in romance.

"Yes, 20 Chao hatched from our eggs. However, they already left."

"Well, it's nice to meet you," Sonic remarked. "But we gotta continue our mission to find the missing Chao-"

Forest interrupted, "I've called you so I could assist you on your journey."

Sonic was suspicious, "Are you gonna act like Omochao?

"Whose Omochao?"

"Omochao is a very annoying robotic Chao who keeps repeating what we already know in our faces. We hate him."

"Oh no, wise owls never do that."

Cream asked, "Forest the Chao, do you know where the Chao are and who snatched them?"

"Even thought I'm very wise," he shook his head, "I cannot explain those answers, I did not witness the event."

"Awww..... However you'll at least help us."

"Excuse me," Sunrise alerted his husband, "I've sighted more of Sonic's friends."

"Call the black hedgehog's name please, my dear."

The pink Chao soared over to the edge of the cliff and yelled, "Shadow! Shadow!"
