  1. Greed V2 logging, part eight!
  2.
  3. Lotlhuitl visits in the dead of night to try to get Brazha to do something, in the guise of mutual benefit.
  4. Erling returns after years, but too little too late.
  5. Even with the both of them, Brazha doesn't give- even whilst actively prodding, jabbing, degrading Lotlhuitl, even whilst actively plotting to be a detriment even to her fellow Sins, Brazha manages to come out on top. Erling back in the fold. Lotlhuitl, a mere worker on the farm.
  6.
  7. By this point it should be relatively clear. For all her talk of benefit to her fellows- and yes, benefit there is, despite this -it's clear who Brazha thinks is on top. Her greed is an active detriment on all around her by this point, antagonising, shaming, and diminishing other sins. Even to the point of aiming to sunder other groups for her own gain.
  8.
  9. Towards the end, Nyphadora flies in. Whilst this does lighten the mood significantly, it also eases the scene to a close.
  10.
  11. 20/05/2018
  12.
  13.
  14. [02:29] Etsuko says, "..Even if we've yet to have a one on one time properly and I hate the disturbance, there are guests. The one with almost no clothes you have summoned before. And some friend of theirs. "
  15. [02:29] Etsuko asks, "Should I lettem in?"
  16. [02:29] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "Ah. No clothes."
  17. [02:29] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "Well. That works."
  18. [02:29] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "Send them in."
  19. [02:36] It seems as though Brazha had been waiting! Where the farmland below had been just that, small homes and farms to the south, slightly larger longhouses and taverns to the north, it seems like the hilltop itself is where the true opulence gathers. Fields of flowers, untouched trees, gathering butterflies, all outside a manor home.
  20. And stepping inside? It's almost like being shrunk.
  21.
  22. The doorway itself is far bigger than that of a regular home- and upon entry, it seems as though most of the furniture is too. Great, sturdy chairs, high tables, more doorways of an overlarge size. .
  23.
  24. It's swiftly apparent why.
  25.
  26. Brazha is sat waiting at one of the tables for the rumoured guests, leaning forwards against it and glowering at the doorway, face hidden by the cross-visored helm that completes their plate mail.
  27. The titan is. . clearly not human. A solid nine feet tall, half again as tall as a fully grown man or more, and easily twice as broad. The plate mail is just the icing on the cake, combining with a huge furred cloak which makes Brazha look yet larger. A shield remains strapped to one arm even in this 'casual' setting, a nyeshk axe taller than a human propped against the table, in arm's reach.
  28.
  29. There's no comment- only silence in wait of an explanation.
  30. (Brazha Earthcleaver)
  31. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  32.
  33. [02:47] The guests arrived in the dead of night.
  34.
  35. Lotlhuitl's eyes gleamed, shining like pale jade, as she regarded the room, regarded Brazha. As per usual, the Nagual's eyes were all that were visible of her face. Visible through two slanted eyeholes carved into the snarling, feline mask.
  36.
  37. She was a tall woman, but the scale of the room almost made her feel small. Shrugging off her inadequacies, the Nagual had reached up with a clawed-gauntlet clad hand and removed her mask. Revealing a delicate face.
  38.
  39. The woman jingled lightly, jewellery jostling against jewellery and metal 'armour' as she stepped closer. Hips swaying. She stood in front of Meryl.
  40.
  41. "Titan of Great Garjling," Lotlhuitl began. Her tone was silken, soft. "We thank you for greeting us at this late hour."
  42.
  43. Meryl was about to learn, at least in part, what Lotlhuitl had been up to. AndBrazha, for that matter.
  44.
  45. "I come with a small monetary contribution - a donation-" A bribe. "To show our goodwill, in seeking an audience with you." Lotl's gaze flicked to examine Etsuko and Osha. "I assume you trust all gathered within? It's about a matter relating to, well, what you call the gifts of your peoples' Gods."
  46. (Lotlhuitl)
  47. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  48.
  49. [02:52] Meryl followed in after Lotlhuitl, her gaze ever so slowly trailing around the household she stepped in. Truth be told she wasn't expecting this, for they were going to be seeking someone else; not that she could complain given the idea that had been formed by Lotl.
  50.
  51. That said, Meryl's posture, moreso pacing forward was one of temptation; subtle thanks to the clothing she wore -- a contrast in comparison to the likes of Lotlhuitl.
  52.
  53. Though the removal of the mask, exposing such a delicate face caused the redhead to light up for a second or two.
  54.
  55. One of those 'Aahhhh' moments; like she had just 'figured' out what Lotlhuitl looks like after so long.
  56.
  57. But for now, she remained silent albeit impatient; her desire to simply jump the gun and grab attention, was a burden on her own self.
  58. (Meryl)
  59. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  60.
  61. [02:55] {Item} Picked up a bag of 300 dropped by Lotlhuitl.
  62. [02:58] A tall, broad-shouldered and hooded cretin would make themselves known. Tentatively pushing the door open before stepping inside, not even lowering themselves, as the doorframe had been custom made for cyclopean men and women alike. "Hello." She murmured in a coarse, gravelly tone of voice, ensuring all knew of her presence before making her way further inside.
  63.
  64. Floorboards creaked, groaned and cried out in dismay. Her weight caused the wooden flooring to warp, distort and bend beneath her mass. Though the symphony of creaks would soon conclude, as Oshana found herself a spot beside Meryl, tossing her an introductory nod and smile, before casting her one-eyed gaze back towards Brazha.
  65. (Osha)
  66. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  67.
  68. [03:01] Of course, the colossus wastes little time in snatching up that donation to their cause, one great hand taking the pouch of coins. By the time the pouch is held over the table, it's already blazing, falling to ashes in mere moments and spilling coins over the surface before the giant!
  69.
  70. Still, there's no comment. The very same hand descends to prod through the coins, rapidly counting, categorising, compartmentalising the funds as part of such a charitable donation-
  71.
  72. A nod is shot to Oshana first of all, before even the guests. But then the great helm turns to regard Lotlhuitl.
  73. In a voice as deep and powerful as the earth, Brazha speaks.
  74.
  75. "You don't make much. Out there. Do you?"
  76.
  77. A thoughtful pause falls over the colossus- in truth, a running theme. Contemplative silence unfolds before every new bout of speech.
  78.
  79. "I was about to retire. After a long day. Of taking tolls and axing thieves.
  80. I hope your visit. Will be worth my time."
  81. (Brazha Earthcleaver)
  82. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  83.
  84. [03:02] Lotlhuitl says, "Perhaps so, Brazha Earthcleaver. But I feel the information I have is worth more than coins."
  85. [03:03] Meryl gives a soft nod to Osha before focusing back at the topic at hand; the discussion.
  86. (Meryl)
  87. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  88.
  89. [03:04] Lotlhuitl turned her mask over in her hands, a slight glimmer of tension at feeling insulted, but hey.. to be fair, people *had* been cheating her out of wages.
  90. (Lotlhuitl)
  91. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  92.
  93. [03:04] Lotlhuitl says, "I bring my friend. I.. will let her introduce herself. I.. I know you know what I am."
  94. [03:04] Lotlhuitl says, "And I know that there are others like me, like you. With powers like ours."
  95. [03:04] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "A bold statement. And a bold assumption. I will be the judge. Of what's worth more than coin."
  96. [03:05] Lotlhuitl says, "Very well."
  97. [03:05] Lotlhuitl says, "Katzan, leader of the Atl, is a pride sin. He gathers others like us into some sort of club, but he does so.. ineptly."
  98. [03:05] Lotlhuitl says, "He seeks to do what Caesar once did."
  99. [03:06] Lotlhuitl says, "Eiphraem and Tragedy already know. His insubordination is already suppressed."
  100. [03:07] Lotlhuitl says, "But if one stronger than him was to sweep in, and with a combination of sweet talking and a display of might, they likely would sweep all his allies into their pocket."
  101. [03:08] Lotlhuitl says, "... possibly him, depending. I don't know him well enough yet."
  102. [03:10] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "I'm no fool, snake of Vaalmoora. Honied words. Suggestions of simple acts. To gain oh-so-much. Oh, how likely it would be. That things would be so easy."
  103. [03:10] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "Your eyes. Are bigger than your stomach. I am no prey to be swayed. For your benefit. I will not follow along. Off this nonsense alone."
  104. [03:10] Lotlhuitl asks, "What do you need?"
  105. [03:10] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "That's more like it."
  106. [03:13] Etsuko says, "..I know Katzan."
  107. [03:14] A low chuckle rumbles out from behind that helm, breastplate shaking with the force from the titan's powerful chest below. Great, metal-clad fingers arch, Brazha themselves leaning forth enough to prop their elbows upon the table.
  108. The chuckle's far from pleasant- it carries with it the very same uneasiness that follows in the titan's wake.
  109.
  110. "You of Vaalmoora. Always wanting. You may call it sin. But what you call it. Doesn't change what I've seen.
  111. I am not your ticket. To easy power. Not a stepping stone. To do your dirty work. If I so much as investigate this. I am on top. In the agreement."
  112. (Brazha Earthcleaver)
  113. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  114.
  115. [03:15] Meryl whispers something.
  116. [03:16] Osha whispers something.
  117. [03:16] Meryl says, "I'll give my name, before Lotl here speaks. I am Meryl. That will be all for now."
  118. [03:16] Meryl whispers something.
  119. [03:16] Meryl whispers something.
  120. [03:18] Osha whispers something.
  121. [03:18] Osha whispers something.
  122. [03:18] Meryl whispers something.
  123. [03:20] Lotlhuitl stood, head held high.
  124.
  125. "I.. come offering this information as a gift. All I get out of this is the satisfaction of knowing that Katzan has his plans thwarted. He asked some other Envy, that Tristan, to--"
  126.
  127. Lotlhuitl looked at Meryl. Arching an eyebrow. Really?
  128.
  129. She lost her train of thought.
  130.
  131. A frown.
  132.
  133. "You wound me, Brazha."
  134.
  135. Her tail flicked.
  136.
  137. "What does that mean?"
  138. (Lotlhuitl)
  139. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  140.
  141. [03:21] Osha says, "Ah. Svart är tillbaka."
  142. [03:23] Osha whispers something.
  143. [03:24] "You know as well as I do. How untrustworthy. Many can be.
  144. Vaalmoorans the least trustworthy. Of them all."
  145.
  146. For an instant, a glimmer of gold runs behind that visor, a momentary glimpse of burnished light. To onlookers, it's far from beautiful, reflection only human loss and violation.
  147. To Lotlhuitl, it's undoubtedly a grim reminder of just how awful it can make one under that gaze feel.
  148.
  149. By the newfound, lower rumble to Brazha's voice, they're not best pleased.
  150.
  151. "I've told you. Time and time again. I don't trust you.
  152. You can claim the information. Is a gift. But if I act on it. You know full well. That you benefit. Plenty.
  153. Don't try to fool me. Into thinking this is an act. Of kindness."
  154. (Brazha Earthcleaver)
  155. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  156.
  157. [03:26] Meryl whispers something.
  158. [03:26] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "Etsuko. Grab me some wine glasses."
  159. [03:28] After many years, most of it lost in the wilds, Erling finally returned. There was nothing fancy about his entrance. No boisterous or thunderous sound to announce him. No sedan carried by slaves to bring him in. No, it was as it always was with the craftsman. The door was simply opened and he stepped inside.
  160.
  161. Wordlessly, he leaned against the wall behind him. His blue gaze sullen, his hair and beard unkempt and wild. Soot and dirt covered his form, alongside dust of various minerals. Even his armored leggings seemed torn and dirtied. If one did not know the hulking Smith, they'd think he was a wandering vagabond.
  162.
  163. Without word, a large, laden satchel was set down beside him.
  164. (Erling the Black)
  165. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  166.
  167. [03:32] A mere twitch of brow.
  168.
  169. That was all that came from Etsuko at the demand imposed to her. But the entrance of a long lost aquintance, one whom she'd first properly memorize in this settlement, helped melt away whatever wound to her pride she may have suffered from such a demand.
  170.
  171. HOPEFULY, a scrutiny of the nearby shelves would provide the desired result - wine glasses. Four, then a fifth was procured, carried all to the table, unceremonialy setting them upon the tables surface. As she withdrew, a small nod was given in Erlings direction. With lower half of face concealed, it was hard to decypher her disposition toward the state of afairs.
  172.
  173. And back to her spot, she went.
  174. (Etsuko)
  175. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  176.
  177. [03:36] "I apologise, Titan of Garjling, for trying your patience."
  178.
  179. Truthfully, Lotlhuitl did look more than a little taken aback. It wasn't clear how she thought this meeting would go, but upsetting Brazha clearly wasn't what she had expected. The woman had tension in her limbs, her head held high, jaw briefly squaring as she exhaled.
  180.
  181. What had she ever done to mark herself as untrustworthy? Nothing, save embrace the powers of Sin. To be fair to Brazha, Lotlhuitl suspected that the woman was right. Deep down, she was as treacherous as a snake. She'd wanted to be honourable. To keep oaths.
  182.
  183. But she was an oathbreaker and a traitor. Xoconan had seen to that.
  184.
  185. Lotlhuitl turned, looking to the opening door.
  186.
  187. "Erling." She murmured, pleased for a moment, before blinking. "I thought I left you in Little Mame."
  188.
  189. Clearly the Nagual was under the misapprehension that people would just.. stay where she left them.
  190.
  191. A furrowed brow, a glance to Meryl, and then back to Brazha.
  192.
  193. "Fine. I benefit. I admit it."
  194.
  195. She exhaled, shifting across the room. Reaching the cyclops' side. Her voice lowering. "But you told me that you knew where my place was." A frown. "Were you lying? Trying to get my hopes up?"
  196.
  197. She gestured to Meryl. "I hoped that you would find a place for my friend. For me. I admit it, I even hoped that you would co-opt the boy Katzan's plan and embrace these Sins. Not for stupid petty destruction, but to build something."
  198. (Lotlhuitl)
  199. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  200.
  201. [03:42] "Thank you, Et-"
  202.
  203. The mood of the room quite suddenly darkens yet further. In the moments leading up to the event, Erling had gone mostly without regard- single minded as Brazha may be, one matter of business tends to be dealt with at a time. And Erling was second.
  204.
  205. But, far quicker than the titan's usual slowness, Brazha rises. They rise fast enough to knock the huge chair behind them to the floor, in fact. The embers that dance and swirl over soot-blackened armour like countless fireflies grow far more numerous in mere moments-
  206.
  207. "Little. Mame."
  208.
  209. Quite suddenly, the colossus grows far more vocal, and far more loud- their voice booms out as a great bellow, enough to shake the windows with force.
  210.
  211. "You cavort. With the same wretches. Who attacked my hold? Under the banner of the thief!? The same who. Attacked farmers. And my property. As mindless followers. Of Askiladd Sea-Snake!?"
  212. (Brazha Earthcleaver)
  213. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  214.
  215. [03:45] A light flinch at the sudden rise of the hulking figure came from Etsuko, eyes rapidly dancing across the room, measuring each person present for not longer than a second, before hopping to another, and another.
  216.
  217. Either unwittingly, or to sign her preparedness, the blade of tempered golden resting upon her back began to give off a dim glow, orichalum leylines etched into it resonating with her mana circuits activating, pouring the essence of what made a magi throughout her body.
  218.
  219. A low, discontent murmurr sounded from behind her collar.
  220. (Etsuko)
  221. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  222.
  223. [03:51] A polite nod was given to Etsuko. The haggard man had always kept mindful of those left under the oppressive thumb of Brazha. Even when they were hopelessly tormented by the antics of Anta. Still, to see her trapped in a cycle of servitude disgusted the smith. Not that it would show upon his stoic face.
  224.
  225. But whatever heed would have been given to Etsuko was short lived as Brazha bellowed. The Smith's lips curled into a frown as he listened, looking at the show of force from the angry cyclops. His gaze upon the Cyclops remained so neutral as he shook his head.
  226.
  227. He had no time for the tantrums of others, anymore.
  228.
  229. "Curb your anger, Slave of the Scaled Tyrant. You are no scion of Kark, seeking eternity. Your anger will never manifest into holy might. Do not let it cloud your judgment.
  230.
  231. I was taken to Little Mame by the aid of Lotlhuitl here when I was lost in the icy caves up North. There, I aided in removing a rune mark from her. As for my aid of Askiladd? I know not nor care not of your internal politics. My oaths are clear. Be it you, Askiladd or Shanka, my aid is free in their endeavors.
  232.
  233. Simply either kill me or leave it be. I've no time nor patience to be toyed with. I know my oaths, and have yet to break them. I remain true to my god and my words."
  234.
  235. Even beneath the grime and soot, his runic tattoos shone with their blue brilliance.
  236. (Erling the Black)
  237. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  238.
  239. [04:02] Lotlhuitl stood firm. The six foot tall woman bared her teeth, snarling at Brazha as the cyclops bellowed at her. Her ears pinned back, her eyes flashing. She was going to scream back, lightning crackling over her willowy form --
  240.
  241. And then Erling spoke.
  242.
  243. The lightning fizzled out. Surprise decorated Lotlhuitl's delicate face for a moment as she glanced over a shoulder to inspect the smith -- she had assumed him as close to a non-combatant as she had ever met.
  244.
  245. "She spoke to me."
  246.
  247. Calm.
  248.
  249. The Nagual forced herself to be calm. All that was left was a bitter, cold emotion.
  250.
  251. "Aside from the boy, Lucan, I've had little to do with the children at Little Mame. It was a convenient pit stop, after I found Erling in the caves. After I was injured by an old friend."
  252.
  253. Her eyes narrowed. Her emotions were plain, face uncovered by her mask. Lotlhuitl was sick of Brazha throwing distrust her way.
  254.
  255. "I've never met your Sea Snake."
  256.
  257. The woman exhaled.
  258.
  259. "I come here because I want to work with you, Brazha. I don't know your gods. I do not know what this Vaalmoora stands for. But I know what I stand for."
  260. (Lotlhuitl)
  261. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  262.
  263. [04:14] "You never broke your oath. Erling. Even if you neglected it. On my end. You remained true. To Kark.
  264. But Askiladd. Never remained true to Garjling."
  265.
  266. One vast hand descends into one of the titan's leather pouches, yanking out a gold chain- one that Lotlhuitl may recognise as one of her very own, once thrown at Brazha. But as that chain rises, it's clear it's been melted to something.
  267. A severed golden head, neck melted and twisted long ago. It's as if it was yanked right off the shoulders of a golden statue, and the chain melted to the top of its head like a perverse amulet.
  268.
  269. The facial features are slightly warped, but shockingly, concerningly lifelike. The expression a twisted deathmask of horror and pain.
  270.
  271. "He knew. He damaged my greatest possession. Stole her value from me. Again. And again. Attacked this hold. Numerous times. Attacked my Anta. My slave. My jewel. Numerous times.
  272. He was a thief. Who stole. My value.
  273.
  274. I am a Champion. Of Great Garjling. Of his god. He not only betrayed us. Like your Shanka did. Not only went against. Our ceasefire. But turned on his own. Kin of Garjling.
  275.
  276. He attacked. With a force from Mame. They were defeated. He died. In pain. Fighting Anta. The one he had injured. Time and time again.
  277. Followed by three others. All let go. One being the friend of Oshana. I see all. I hear. All."
  278.
  279. Swiftly, the head is slammed down into the pile of gold coins left from Lotlhuitl's offering. The table shakes.
  280.
  281. "Attacked those I am. At good relations with. As did Shanka. Tried to lessen my worth. Shook my standing. Look at him now, golden and gleaming. Finally worth something! Thieves. This is the fate of them. Look well, Lotlhuitl, Erling.
  282. He is not the only one. Struck down for thievery."
  283.
  284. Slowly but surely, the titan takes a deep breath. Their vast breastplate rises. Exhale. It falls. Slowly but surely, the embers grow less numerous.
  285. (Brazha Earthcleaver)
  286. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  287.
  288. [04:14] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "Those children. Are a blight. A handful of them, at least. Followers of a thief."
  289. [04:15] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "You have one less oath. Erling the Black. Only Shanka and I remain."
  290. [04:16] Erling the Black says, "Do not assume much of Shanka. She was never mine. Her heart too fickle, even for the likes of Vaalmoora."
  291. [04:16] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "Shouldn't have trusted. A Vaalmooran."
  292. [04:17] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "I can see the want for trust. In this one's eyes. Like she forgets. Attacking me. And being cut down."
  293. [04:17] Erling the Black says, "No, Brazha, I have less oaths to uphold by a considerable degree. Shanka is either missing or dead, it matters not."
  294. [04:17] Lotlhuitl swallowed. Averting her gaze.
  295. (Lotlhuitl)
  296. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  297.
  298. [04:17] Erling the Black says, "She ultimately made her choices."
  299. [04:18] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "Missing or dead. Another problem saved. But you. You. ."
  300. [04:18] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "I never held it. Against you. You can ask the others. You can ask Anta. I knew your oaths."
  301. [04:18] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "I held it against Shanka. For stealing you from me. He who was meant. To magnify my wealth."
  302. [04:19] Lotlhuitl continued to remain silent, looking distinctly awkward..
  303. (Lotlhuitl)
  304. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  305.
  306. [04:19] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "Shanka. Askiladd. Thieves. But never you. ."
  307. [04:19] Lotlhuitl fiddled with her mask, turning it over in her hands.
  308. (Lotlhuitl)
  309. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  310.
  311. [04:20] Erling the Black says, "I belong to no one, Brazha. Do not mistake my oaths for chains upon my neck."
  312. [04:20] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "Come. Sit, everyone. We make wine here now. Much, much wine."
  313. [04:20] Lotlhuitl sat.
  314. (Lotlhuitl)
  315. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  316.
  317. [04:20] Erling the Black says, "I went after Shanka to bring her back, she did not want to return. I tried to assist her but her weak nature caused her to lose faith in many things."
  318. [04:20] Erling sits beside the Nagual.
  319. (Erling the Black)
  320. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  321.
  322. [04:21] Lotlhuitl says, "I did not attack you, Brazha. I challenged you to a duel.."
  323. [04:24] Even if reluctant, Etsuko joins the table!
  324.
  325. At last, she speaks out in more than just a brief few words.
  326.
  327. "It is good to see you. The place has been prospering very well! Thanks to Anta -- And Aziza, if you remember my blonde friend. And me, well. I've been growing too. More-so in terms of power, than wealth. I stood my own againts Lord Zaruma! For a while, atleast. He didn't like being beaten back. So he took me very seriously. I think. "
  328. (Etsuko)
  329. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  330.
  331. [04:25] Lotlhuitl tilted her head. Unsure if she should stretch out her hand and pour herself a glass of wine.
  332. (Lotlhuitl)
  333. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  334.
  335. [04:29] "You challenged me. I told you to pay me. You attacked.
  336. Don't try to save face. I've told you. About embarrassing yourself."
  337.
  338. Again, one great hand descends, pointedly leaving Askiladd's golden head upon the table. It slips into one of those treated leather pouches, only to pull out an entire bottle of wine! After so many visits for diplomacy, it certainly serves to keep one on hand.
  339.
  340. After an effortless uncorking, the titan reaches out to fill each wine glass in turn, even their own. Despite the fact that, yes, at Brazha's size? It'd likely take a hell of a lot to do much at all.
  341. They crouch a little, righting the fallen chair before taking a seat upon it.
  342.
  343. "In the end. It's simple. I do not trust you. Not for your nature as a Vaalmooran. And not for that attack. So. There is only one way. This will work."
  344. (Brazha Earthcleaver)
  345. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  346.
  347. [04:31] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "If this Katzan. Is collected those gifted. By the gods Erling and I follow. Then he will come here. I will hear him. I will investigate. I will do what I can. But. There is something I will need from you. Daughter of Vaalmoora."
  348. [04:32] Erling the Black asks, "Daughter of Vaalmoora?"
  349. [04:32] Erling peers at the Nagual.
  350. (Erling the Black)
  351. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  352.
  353. [04:32] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "She is as gifted. As I am."
  354. [04:33] Brazha Earthcleaver says, ". .Maybe more than I am. She felt more. . Experienced, when we clashed."
  355. [04:34] 'I paid you, was clearly the words at the tip of Lotlhuitl's tongue. But she said nothing. Bit her bottom lip, as she accepted the wine.
  356.
  357. "How will it work," she said with effort. Her tail flicked, as she turned her gaze to Erling and then to Brazha. "What do you need from me, Brazha."
  358. (Lotlhuitl)
  359. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  360.
  361. [04:34] Lotlhuitl says, "... that is what Brazha calls it. "
  362. [04:35] Erling eyes Lotlhuitl carefully.
  363. (Erling the Black)
  364. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  365.
  366. [04:35] Erling the Black says, "I see."
  367. [04:37] Lotlhuitl turned her gaze to Erling.
  368. (Lotlhuitl)
  369. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  370.
  371. [04:37] With her flurry of words utterly disregarded, Etsukos brows furrowed, and she once more fell into silence.
  372. (Etsuko)
  373. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  374.
  375. [04:37] Lotlhuitl regarded Etsuko, unsure if her comments had been for her or for Brazha.. oops..
  376. (Lotlhuitl)
  377. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  378.
  379. [04:37] Erling is more concerned with what is on his left at the moment, than anything else. Also, what is across from him.
  380. (Erling the Black)
  381. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  382.
  383. [04:37] Lotlhuitl asks, "Is that a problem, Erling?"
  384. [04:37] Erling the Black asks, "Though, what is a Lord Zaruma?"
  385. [04:37] Lotlhuitl says, "Archon."
  386. [04:37] Lotlhuitl says, "He once ruled Gaiar. Tragedy usurped him, with Kayeliun's assistance."
  387. [04:38] Etsuko says, "..huh."
  388. [04:39] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "He remains one. Of their leaders. Zaruma. Illaron. Tragedy. The latter most of all. I meet with them all. I have met with. Eiphraem of Crafthold too. They're quite the. Council."
  389. [04:39] Erling the Black says, "Interesting. It sounds like a powerful lot."
  390. [04:39] Etsuko says, "..he built a house at Crafthold. I think he aims to reside there more than in Gaiar itself."
  391. [04:39] Lotlhuitl says, "Smart and patient. "
  392. [04:39] Erling the Black says, "It is good to see you test yourself against such, Etsuko."
  393. [04:40] Lotlhuitl says, "Crafthold is their foothold into Ardent."
  394. [04:40] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "But what I need from you. Lotlhuitl. Is this. I will not have. Someone sat in a position. To whisper in my ear. To try to gain so much. From my work. To try to puppet me."
  395. [04:40] Erling the Black says, "Maybe when you defeat one, a proper weapon can be forged out of its remains."
  396. [04:40] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "I do not get taken. Lotlhuitl. I take."
  397. [04:40] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "You will swear fealty. Or you'll get nothing."
  398. [04:40] Erling is also avoiding Lotlhuitl's question.
  399. (Erling the Black)
  400. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  401.
  402. [04:42] A light flinch came from the mentions of remains, and a low mumble, hearable, but easily missed.
  403.
  404. "I don't kill."
  405. (Etsuko)
  406. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  407.
  408. [04:53] Swear fealty? Oh, this was something new. Not.
  409.
  410. How many oaths had she sworn now? It was beginning to get a bit ridiculous. At least this one wasn't at sword point, or at the threat of mutilation. At least this was one she actually vaguely was interested in.
  411.
  412. Somehow, Lotlhuitl didn't seem surprised when Brazha demanded her loyalty. The Nagual sat there, considering the cyclops for a good minute or so, swirling the liquid within her wine glass.
  413.
  414. "Fealty," she repeated. Took a deep sip of wine. Set the glass, half full - or was it empty? - down on the table.
  415.
  416. "I do not kneel."
  417.
  418. It wasn't a no. The woman's ears were pricked forward, her expression thoughtful. "Explain to me, what you mean by 'swearing fealty.' I want to understand exactly what you expect from me."
  419. (Lotlhuitl)
  420. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  421.
  422. [05:02] The titan, however, doesn't lift their own glass. No, it seems to be somewhat of an empty gesture, some mimicry of drinking with those others at the table, without actually doing so.
  423. On a closer glance, it might even become clear that Brazha's own glass was never filled quite as high as the others, the illusion of having been sipped.
  424.
  425. "You do your best. With every word. To make me trust you. So completely."
  426.
  427. It's very rare that much in the way of emotion shows in the colossus' voice, save for when anything remotely close to thievery is brought up- but for a moment, that dry comment shows that Brazha does indeed grasp the concept of sarcasm!
  428.
  429. "Simple. You work the fields. With everyone else. You farm. You bring me money. You do what I say. I am steward of this land. Lord. Sovereign. I work with the others often. But I am the one. Who sits upon the hoard.
  430. You, daughter of Vaalmoora. Would be mine. And you know how I react. When something that's mine. Is no longer there."
  431. (Brazha Earthcleaver)
  432. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  433.
  434. [05:12] Erling just shook his head at Brazha's words. No, this wasn't good. Is this how things had been in the past years? It was a recipe for disaster.
  435.
  436. "No. You will not claim this one for yourself, Brazha. This venture was not started so you alone could benefit. To seize so many slaves for yourself is to invite disaster. To demand them waste their lives upon the fields is to waste their potential. I will not oversee any oath that demands they chain themselves.
  437.
  438. Least of all one like Lotlhuitl. If she is truly a daughter of Vaalmoora, then she will be treated as such. Whether the Mask or the Divine Kiss, I know not nor care not. I will admit, I am leery to deal with more involving that serpentine goddess, but I will not let you chain one who has aided me, asking naught in return.
  439.
  440. If she is to join, she will hold the position Shanka so vacated. She says she will not kneel. By the will Kark has granted me, I would see the grave before I see her chained."
  441. (Erling the Black)
  442. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  443.
  444. [05:16] Brazha Earthcleaver says, ". .I have one slave. So many."
  445. [05:18] Erling the Black asks, "Anta, Etsuko, Aziza? That is three by my reckoning. Or have you finally granted them more freedoms and gilded chains?"
  446. [05:18] Etsuko says, "..Might be worth seeing what has become of this place before you make ultimatums and throw weight around. "
  447. [05:18] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "No. I will not give her. Equal standing. We were meant to lead. Equally. Shanka lost that right. When she left. Askiladd lost that right. When he took. You lost that right. When you held the oaths. Of the others. And never returned. This is not our land anymore. It hasn't been. Since you all left."
  448. [05:18] Etsuko says, "Never been chained. And..do not. Insult me. By implying so."
  449. [05:18] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "This is MY land. I am steward. I am the only one left. Etsuko and Aziza. Have never been slaves. Anta is my only."
  450. [05:18] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "You gave up the right. To make demands here. Long ago."
  451. [05:20] Erling the Black says, "I gave up no rights. You were the one who sat idle upon your hoard. I went after Shanka to bring her back, venturing into the wild lands beyond. Only Askiladd came after me to talk and seek my services."
  452. [05:21] Etsuko says, "..And rotted in jail, and fucked a teenage queen to gain a small army..and attacked farmers. Askiladd has done plenty, hasn't he."
  453. [05:21] Etsuko says, "..I'm getting tired of the name."
  454. [05:21] Erling the Black says, "As is the way of the Scaled One's worshippers."
  455. [05:21] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "More assumptions. I have not sat idle. For a moment. I travel constantly. For diplomacy. I travel constantly. For trade. I protect our lands from thieves."
  456. [05:22] Erling the Black says, "And yet, never did you send someone to seek me."
  457. [05:22] Etsuko says, "I've been looking around on my own."
  458. [05:22] Etsuko says, "Nobody seemed to know about you, in all of Ardent."
  459. [05:22] Brazha Earthcleaver says, ". .You left for her. I gave you your space."
  460. [05:22] Erling the Black says, "I left to retrieve her, to fix her failing convictions."
  461. [05:22] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "Etsuko searched. But I waited. And waited. Years now. Too many."
  462. [05:24] Lotlhuitl swallowed. She had started off trying to gain the upper hand, but facing Brazha was like facing a rockslide. At first a few pebbles were dislodged, and then a boulder. One didn't expect boulders to move.
  463.
  464. "Erling," she raised a hand, stretching out as if to touch his - to brush her gauntlet-clad fingers against his own. But she stopped short, instead merely glancing at him. "I appreciate your words. I appreciate your kindness."
  465.
  466. "There is an irony, Brazha. If I were truly as you say I were, I would swear to you here and now. But I know that I would struggle fulfil this oath. And despite what you think of me, despite what my own people think of me, I pay my debts. I try to keep my oaths, even though I have failed in the past."
  467.
  468. The hand went to her wine. And she sipped.
  469.
  470. "Besides, I've already sworn myself to no less than three people. It's beginning to get a little messy."
  471. (Lotlhuitl)
  472. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  473.
  474. [05:28] "All you have given me. Is less coins. Than a beggar is worth. And information. That by its very nature. Would have reached me."
  475.
  476. The titan shakes their head, even more slowly than usual. Disappointment? Distaste? It's hard to judge, without expression, body language, nor vocal tone to discern any sense of emotion.
  477.
  478. "You have given me nothing. To consider this offer. Seriously. And the one thing you. Could give. Is barely worth it.
  479. It's clear. Where both of your loyalties. Remain. You can both leave. My land."
  480. (Brazha Earthcleaver)
  481. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  482.
  483. [05:28] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "Be thankful. That this waste of. My time. Isn't quite enough. To be thievery."
  484. [05:29] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "You've come in here. Insulted my stewardship. Made assumptions. Insulted my guard. And tried to exert authority. You entirely lack. I've had enough of it."
  485. [05:43] The Karkian smith rose to his feet, adjusting the satchel upon his side. There is a cold fury in his eyes as he looks upon Brazha, reaching in to pull out something. With a heavy, cracking thud, a set of black armor was dropped upon the table.
  486.
  487. "Behold, prize armor from the Atl. A tournament of Blood, that Shanka had bested them all in. How she proclaimed herself Vanirhallan then. Even after being horribly maimed by the one known as Sibri, a being of the forest.
  488.
  489. Let this sate your hunger, scion of Garjling. Armor of nyeshk, earned by the blood of another. I exert my authority as the only Karkian upon these lands, the only true holder of oaths.
  490.
  491. Do as you will, Brazha. I do not insult Etsuko, nor the others. I question your judgment, as I have Shanka's and Askiladd when we talked. But if you truly wish to remove me from your lands, then I will ask this...
  492.
  493. Do you, the last of the venture to hold my oath, release me from it? To never seek my hand in the skilled trades, leaving me unburdened by your desires? Know that if you say yes, you will never see of me again upon these lands. However, if you say no, I will simply return to my forge and reignite the forge, never to speak again of the foolish notion that you would let your hoard stagnate, unworked and unwrought.
  494.
  495. And for this armor and my continued adherence to my oaths, Lotlhuitl will be joining with me. She will live under my roof and aid me. Whether she wishes to adhere to our gods or not is her own choice to make. But if she is truly blessed by Vaalmoora, then you would be a fool to let her skills be wasted upon the fields."
  496.
  497. Karkians sure loved monologuing.
  498. (Erling the Black)
  499. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  500.
  501. [05:59] Lotlhuitl's breath caught in her throat, a flush of colour rising to her rich brown cheeks. "What can I--" She began to speak, to protest. She began to stand.
  502.
  503. And then she was cut off by Erling.
  504.
  505. For a moment, the Nagual had blinked, awkwardly hovering between standing and sitting for a moment. Before drawing herself to her full height.
  506.
  507. "You have my word that I will not wrong you, Brazha Earthcleaver. I.. may envy what you have, but I am no thief. I will not rob you or cheat you."
  508.
  509. She stared at the armour for a good moment, gaze tracing over the work. Her expression shifted between being appraising, shifting into a glimmer of jealousy, before returning to look at Brazha. She took a step towards Erling, moving to stand beside the sacred Smith of Kark.
  510.
  511. "I am a Cruxati warrior. A runescribe. And I am here because after you bested me in combat, you told me that you knew my place. If you think that place is kneeling, then you can forget it."
  512.
  513. Her green eyes flashed, electricity passing over her gaze as she moved to replace her mask. It muffled her voice.
  514.
  515. "You can keep your treasure. What I care about is my name."
  516. (Lotlhuitl)
  517. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  518.
  519. [05:59] Lotlhuitl says, "And.. revenge on Katzan for forgetting me."
  520. [06:05] Etsuko slowly raised from her seat, rolling her shoulders, shooting an impassive stare at the tall man.
  521.
  522. "..Calling me a slave, is like calling you an oathbreaker, landdweller, if this analogy eases it for you. Be thankful for my existence, for I'll be the one standing inbetween you, and agressors after your belongings, or even life. Should Brazha discard your odd priorities in terms of oath."
  523.
  524.
  525. A few steps made toward the exit, only for her ears to catch what Lot had to contribute.. sounding something not to her, but to Brazha herself.
  526.
  527. "..And if you need me to, I can beat down Katzan to the dirt again. Never liked the guy."
  528.
  529. With these words imparted, she shuffled forth..
  530.
  531. And lest halted, the Sirenian departed.
  532. (Etsuko)
  533. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  534.
  535. [06:15] "Your petty revenge. Is not my business.
  536. I have never once. Elaborated on where your place is."
  537.
  538. The titan shakes their head slowly, just as they did before. With monumental movement, Brazha rises to their feet, visored gaze upon the armour before them. That's. Not gonna fit.
  539.
  540. "What reason. What reason have either of you. Given me? What advantage have you. Offered me?
  541. Everyone here provides. Anyone with their own home. Provides. Anyone who works on the farm. Provides. Anta provides. Etsuko provides. I provide. We all, bit by bit. Do our part.
  542.
  543. Where have either of you been. To be given the same standing. As any of them? You have been chasing your oaths. Erling. Something you had to do. But not my doing. Not my business. You still stopped providing. I expected to welcome you. With open arms. But you greet me. After giving less than any farmer here. With insults not only to me. But to my guard. One who has given her health. Forthose who live here."
  544.
  545. A huge hand is lifted in regard to Etsuko's exit- both acknowledgement of her in mention, and in her parting.
  546.
  547. "And of you, Vaalmooran? A handful of coin? Information I would have. Received anyway? In exchange for what? My compliance in some. Revenge scheme? My neck potentially on the line? And you give nothing. Nothing. In return.
  548.
  549. Why should I do either? Why should I release your oath? Why should I keep it. And allow her presence?
  550. My faith. In whatever tenuous ceasefire. I believed in. Was immediately shattered. By Shanka. And my own kin. No, you need to give me. Tangible reason. To allow any of you to exist here. Go bring any favour from me.
  551.
  552. Wasted on the fields. Wasted on the fields? What part of her. Is beyond. Feeding the people that would. Protect her? Feed her in return? Care for her? For you? What part of her. Is beyond bringing us coin. In crops?"
  553.
  554. A low rumble sounds from the depths of the titan's chest, one distinctly unpleasant, and unsafe. Even more so now, Brazha is veeery clearly unhappy.
  555.
  556. "Just because you Karkites. Are predictable. Doesn't make you any. Better loved than Vaalmoorans. I am no exotic animal. For a Vaalmooran to experience. Or use for their schemes. I am no monster. For Karkites to hunt. To turn into leather. To wear.
  557. I am not even a beast of war. For my own tribe. My own kin. To betray. Or to march to battle. Like a dog.
  558.
  559. This is my land. I am sovereign. Free. Unbeholden to any but. Great Garjling himself. I cavort with the rulers. Of these foreign lands.
  560. I am shackled. By hunts. By serpents. Or by my own kin. No longer.
  561.
  562. So you will learn to swallow. That Karkian pride. Before you negotiate with me.
  563. I need real. Tangible. Worthwhile. Results. If you are to stay. Or be freed of your oath.
  564.
  565. She will need to prove. Her merit. Just like every farmhand has.
  566. Blessed by Vaalmoora. But not proven in worth."
  567. (Brazha Earthcleaver)
  568. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  569.
  570. [06:34] Lotlhuitl exhaled. Slowly. Man, she'd really messed this up. "I misunderstood."
  571.
  572. The rockslide hit her, once more. Brazha's words hit her. The Envy Sin exhaled slowly again. The cyclops woman was right. What business did Brazha have, caring what concerned her? That's all this was: business.
  573.
  574. "To call it only a revenge scheme makes it sound petty." Lotlhuitl placed her hands on her hips. Tapped her clawed fingers against her hip bone.
  575.
  576. "And normally, I'd own that. I am petty. I can't exactly help it. I won't deny that I want revenge. But it's something more. A chance to build something."
  577.
  578. Her hands fell to her sides. "If working in the fields is best how I'd prove my worth to you, then fine. I will work in your fields, Brazha. I am not afraid of work."
  579. (Lotlhuitl)
  580. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  581.
  582. [06:46] If there truly was one thing Karkians were, it was predictable to a fault.
  583.
  584. If there was another? It was stubborn beyond compare. To tell Erling to swallow his pride would gain no ground. He knew exactly where he stood on things and in life.
  585.
  586. "You cannot have things both ways, Brazha. You will have to decide. Either my oath is annulled and I leave, or my oath remains as it always has been, and I resume my works in the forge and cauldron. If you truly believe we Karkian are truly predictable, then you know what the third option will gain you.
  587.
  588. I will not kneel nor retract my words. I have proven my worth before when I made and inscribed your gear. There is always more to make. That is my duty. Not to gain your favor, not to play intermediary between your kin and you. I already stepped beyond what is needed of me by trying to bring back Shanka to the fold. That her resolve was weaker than glass was no fault of yours or mine.
  589.
  590. You can have your hoards and titles. Like the few years I was gone, lost in the wilds of this land, they pale before the eternity that awaits. So, I will demand an answer, as your peer, as one who has arrived upon this forsaken land beside you, who has armored and aided you.
  591.
  592. Am I free of my oath?"
  593. (Erling the Black)
  594. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  595.
  596. [06:47] Lotlhuitl says, "... this is not what I came here for. I came not to insult you, Brazha. Nor to drive a wedge between you and Erling."
  597. [06:57] "I chose no third option. I merely deny you. The Vaalmooran ways. That have coiled around you.
  598. Your oath. Is not to be abused. You do not get to use it. As a tool. To wriggle more people in. Than you should. Everyone does their part. Or they are kicked out. You having an oath. And me not releasing it. Does not mean you can. Bring in wastes of space.
  599.
  600. You. Once as my peer. Who once stood beside me. Who once armoured and aided me. Are not free of. Your oath.
  601. Nor does it buy leniency. On its own."
  602.
  603. The titan once again shakes their head, reaching down to hoist that great axe up to rest upon an inhumanly broad shoulder. It's effortless, despite being longer than a human is tall, and made of solid nyeshk.
  604. Similarly, the titan lifts the nyeshk breastplate in their other hand.
  605.
  606. If nothing else, it's clear that Brazha has grown even more terrifyingly strong, in physical strength alone.
  607.
  608. "I didn't ask you. To search for Shanka. To bring her here. She betrayed us. You left. I heard only from Askiladd. After the fact.
  609. Askiladd. Shattered Anta's flesh. Cut out her tongue. Tore off her jaw. She thinks I didn't notice. But. I would never fail. To notice a flaw in. A prized gem. He attacked her. Again and again. Took her worth. Took my worth. Reduced us. When I must grow.
  610. And now he's dead. All three of you. Were gone. Only I stood steward here. Alone.
  611.
  612. I built this place. No. Anta. Aziza and Etsuko. All of those under me. We built this place. Without any of you. And I have dwelled here. Walking ceaselessly. Across the entire island. To play the diplomat. To play the merchant. When I needed you. At my side.
  613.
  614. You had your oaths. I never held them against you. I branded Shanka a thief. And you, stolen. You left willingly. But there is little will. In those oaths.
  615. I needed you here. With me."
  616. (Brazha Earthcleaver)
  617. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  618.
  619. [06:57] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "If you remain. You remain the same. As any worker here. We are. A community. Even I work the farms. You start crafting immediately. Lotlhuitl will be watched. Like a hawk. An untrustworthy. Defective. Vaalmooran. Snake. I like her. But will never trust her."
  620. [06:58] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "She will work. If she wants to remain. Maybe the others. Will trust her. But I will be watching. Waiting. For the day she slides. A knife. Between my ribs."
  621. [06:58] Lotlhuitl stood, expression undiscernable behind her mask.
  622. (Lotlhuitl)
  623. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  624.
  625. [07:01] Lotlhuitl says, "I am not defective."
  626. [07:01] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "Defective. As in. Prone to defect. To leave. To betray me."
  627. [07:01] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "Like Shanka. Like Askiladd."
  628. [07:12] {Item} You drop Pork x1.
  629. [07:12] {Item} You drop Lightning Crystal x1.
  630. [07:12] {Item} You picked up Nyeshk Breastplate.Dropped by Erling the Black. .
  631. [07:12] {Item} You picked up Nyeshk Platelegs.Dropped by Erling the Black. .
  632. [07:18] The Karkian squinted at the Cyclops. His dirt, grimy appearance remained as it always was, a grim reminder of his times lost in the wilds. From the town of Ardent, back to this homestead, it had taken him quite some time and effort to get his way back.
  633.
  634. He remained unmoving, unflinching. His right hand resting upon the hilts of the throwing knives upon his waist.
  635.
  636. "I care not of what happened to Anta by Askiladd's hand. That was between you two and Garjling. Shanka held my oath and used it to string me along, preventing me from leaving. I heard not word nor seen no message from this place, making me think my services unneeded.
  637.
  638. When Shanka finally disappeared, either by the fel hand of another or simply left these lands, I sought my way back. Lost in the caves, set on by others who say me as their play things. Not once did my companions, who I had given my sacred oaths to, truly protect me.
  639.
  640. By the stones of Kark, I will use my oath as a weapon. It has been used against me enough. Despite it all, I remain true to my oaths. I will craft unless you decide to cast me out and let me from my oath. Keep that armor, I've no need for it.
  641.
  642. If there is nothing else, I will be heading to my forge. Kill me if you wish, I care not. It would be a sweet release from these horrid lands, devoid of honor and eternity."
  643.
  644. With that, he stepped away from the table, dusting himself off and heading out the door.
  645.
  646. "And if Lotlhuitl is allowed, she can reside in my forge. Assist in gathering materials and the like when she isn't tending your fields."
  647. (Erling the Black)
  648. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  649.
  650. [07:20] Lotlhuitl says, "..."
  651. [07:20] Lotlhuitl looked to Brazha.
  652. (Lotlhuitl)
  653. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  654.
  655. [07:21] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "We tried, Erling. Etsuko told you. As much. We tried."
  656. [07:22] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "Don't turn. Shanka abusing your oaths. Against me. That wasn't my doing. In the end. In the end, I do not. Want you dead. Nor out there. Abandoned. As I felt."
  657. [07:22] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "You are still. The last remaining. Aside from me. This is no longer our. Settlement. But you are. Welcome here again."
  658. [07:23] Brazha Earthcleaver says, ". .I know. I've been waiting long enough. To see. My favoured smith again."
  659. [07:24] Erling the Black says, "It is always good to be home. Especially after so long."
  660. [07:25] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "You should bathe. Go, Erling the Black. You need. To grow familiar to my lands. Again."
  661. [07:25] Lotlhuitl says, "... I will accept your offer of hospitality, Erling."
  662. [07:26] Lotlhuitl says, "... if Brazha accepts me."
  663. [07:26] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "That. Is a deal yet to be. Finalised."
  664. [07:27] Lotlhuitl says, "The metal I.. paid you. The chains. They weren't mere trinkets. They were a price that Avalon paid me, after I helped raise it to the ground. I know my worth, Brahza."
  665. [07:27] Lotlhuitl says, "I'm not useless. Or shy of honest work. "
  666. [07:28] Lotlhuitl says, "I've worked my entire life. Struggled."
  667. [07:28] Erling the Black says, "Then let her sins be my burdens. Any betrayal by her will fall on me. She pulled me from my months lost in the caves and brought me to a place where I could get a warm meal. I owe her that much."
  668. [07:29] Nyphadora says, "Knock. Knock."
  669. [07:29] Nyphadora flies in anyways.
  670. (Nyphadora)
  671. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  672.
  673. [07:29] Lotlhuitl says, "... a fae."
  674. [07:29] Brazha Earthcleaver says, ". .Ah. Friendly bee friend."
  675. [07:29] Nyphadora exclaims, "Hello!"
  676. [07:29] Erling squints at the fae.
  677. (Erling the Black)
  678. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  679.
  680. [07:29] Erling the Black says, "What."
  681. [07:29] Lotlhuitl seemed unimpressed by the fae creature, though it was hard to tell exactly how unimpressed: only her eyes were visible. She wore a mask.
  682. (Lotlhuitl)
  683. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  684.
  685. [07:30] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "What. Was my reaction too."
  686. [07:30] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "She is. A very small person."
  687. [07:30] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "With wings. I'm not sure why."
  688. [07:31] Nyphadora says, "Without wings, surviving would be a tad more difficult, mm."
  689. [07:31] Erling the Black says, "Oh. I've only heard stories of these from the elder alchemists in the Clanholds. Vanirhalla had not seen them in... many, many centuries."
  690. [07:31] Lotlhuitl says, "Oh? "
  691. [07:31] Nyphadora says, "Aha. Alchemists."
  692. [07:31] Lotlhuitl asks, "Did your people grind them up into dust?"
  693. [07:31] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "I. Had not even. Heard stories."
  694. [07:31] Erling the Black says, "Yes."
  695. [07:32] Nyphadora says, "Mm, a waste of resources."
  696. [07:32] Erling the Black says, "The Karkian people... enjoy using those they hunt in their creations."
  697. [07:32] Lotlhuitl says, "They've always been around, at least for me. I grew up in Agartha. Plenty of bad experiences."
  698. [07:32] Lotlhuitl says, "A fae tried to trick me when I was a child. I've never trusted them since."
  699. [07:32] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "This one has money. And is thus. The most welcome person. In this room."
  700. [07:32] Lotlhuitl decided to shut up, at that.
  701. (Lotlhuitl)
  702. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  703.
  704. [07:32] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "Probably. Can't even hold a big enough knife. To backstab me."
  705. [07:32] Erling the Black asks, "Who is she aligned with?"
  706. [07:32] Lotlhuitl says, "It's there. Why don't you ask it."
  707. [07:32] Nyphadora says, "Ah! Allow me to introduce myself then."
  708. [07:32] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "A business partner."
  709. [07:33] Brazha Earthcleaver says, ". .Who is also very small."
  710. [07:35] Should the Smith squint down even harder, perhaps he would notice the demonic attributes this little creature adorned as well- An unusual trait for Faes, although simply aesthetic at this point.
  711.
  712. "I am Nyphadora the Fae, mm."
  713.
  714. Wings would flutter, the little woman carrying herself around the room before finally reaching Brazha's side.
  715.
  716. "A pleasure to meet you."
  717. (Nyphadora)
  718. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  719.
  720. [07:38] Lotlhuitl says, "Lotlhuitl. "
  721. [07:38] Erling just keeps squinting at the Fae. His frown seemingly etched onto his dirty face at this point.
  722. (Erling the Black)
  723. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  724.
  725. [07:38] Erling the Black asks, "Who are you aligned with, fae? I do not believe you are some rogue element in these wild lands. Who do you serve?"
  726. [07:39] Nyphadora asks, "My, oh my. Aren't you a skeptical one?"
  727. [07:39] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "Paying visitors. Are welcome here."
  728. [07:39] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "This one, in particular. Keeps me company."
  729. [07:40] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "And is only marginally smaller. Than the rest of you."
  730. [07:40] Nyphadora exclaims, "Gehe!"
  731. [07:41] Nyphadora says, "Speaking of! I would like to construct a small house for myself around here, it is much quieter around here than the other places."
  732. [07:41] Nyphadora says, "If you do not mind, of course."
  733. [07:41] Erling the Black says, "Yes. I am skeptical. While it may bring you coin a plenty,, I question who this one has likely... or rather, is still serving."
  734. [07:42] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "I cavort. With the Archons. Readily."
  735. [07:42] Lotlhuitl says, "As do I, Erling. "
  736. [07:42] Erling the Black says, "I... "
  737. [07:42] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "If she is of Little Mame. You would know her. And I would be wary of her."
  738. [07:42] Erling the Black says, "That word has no meaning to me."
  739. [07:43] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "If she is of Ardent. I would be merciless. But wring her of her money."
  740. [07:43] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "She dwells. In the merchant lands of the. South east. Where Eiphraem dwells. Where Tragedy dwells. Business partners."
  741. [07:43] Erling the Black says, "Brazha."
  742. [07:44] Erling the Black says, "These names... They mean nothing to me. Beyond the cities, I know not who these people are. Much less what an Archon is."
  743. [07:44] Lotlhuitl says, "... demon."
  744. [07:44] Lotlhuitl says, "Big demon."
  745. [07:44] Brazha proceeds to set down the axe and nyeshk chestplate, instead taking a seat once more. They reach out to pluck the wine glass- larger than Nyphadora -from the table, only to offer it to the fae.
  746.
  747. The helm turns somewhat to glance Nyph's way.
  748. (Brazha Earthcleaver)
  749. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  750.
  751. [07:44] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "How small. Is this house. Because you are very small."
  752. [07:44] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "You will have to provide. Like all the others. Buying things. Isn't enough."
  753. [07:45] Nyphadora says, "Very small."
  754. [07:45] Erling the Black says, "The only names I hold in my head are the ones I would put upon the anvil to quench my blades. Like Sibri... And how to wound him, apparently."
  755. [07:45] Lotlhuitl says, "... he would murder you and not bat an eyelid."
  756. [07:45] Nyphadora asks, "Sibri? Mm, isn't he the Dryad wandering around?"
  757. [07:46] Lotlhuitl tilted her head.
  758. (Lotlhuitl)
  759. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  760.
  761. [07:46] Lotlhuitl says, "He is my lover."
  762. [07:46] Nyphadora says, "Aha, so that's where I know you from..."
  763. [07:46] Lotlhuitl says, "..."
  764. [07:46] Lotlhuitl asks, "Excuse me?"
  765. [07:46] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "She is the one. I cut open. On the beach of Crafthold. Fairy."
  766. [07:47] Nyphadora asks, "Oh?"
  767. [07:47] Lotlhuitl says, "... "
  768. [07:47] Lotlhuitl inclined her head in the smallest of nods, indicating that it was true.
  769. (Lotlhuitl)
  770. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  771.
  772. [07:48] Nyphadora says, "Mm. Mm... I see."
  773. [07:48] Erling raises an eyebrow at Lotlhuitl.
  774. (Erling the Black)
  775. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  776.
  777. [07:48] Lotlhuitl says, "Erling, promise me you will not attack Sibri."
  778. [07:48] Erling the Black says, "I will not be the one to attack him."
  779. [07:48] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "This isn't the place. For your squabbles over. Partners."
  780. [07:48] Lotlhuitl lowered her voice.
  781. (Lotlhuitl)
  782. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  783.
  784. [07:49] Lotlhuitl whispers something.
  785. [07:49] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "Vaalmooran. You will work the farms. Or you aren't welcome."
  786. [07:49] Lotlhuitl says, "... very well."
  787. [07:49] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "I will watch you. One mistake. And I want blood."
  788. [07:49] Erling the Black says, "I will be at my forge."
  789. [07:49] Brazha nudges Nyphadora with the glass.
  790. (Brazha Earthcleaver)
  791. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  792.
  793. [07:49] Erling the Black whispers something.
  794. [07:49] Nyphadora asks, "Huh?"
  795. [07:49] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "For you. I can't drink. Through a helmet."
  796. [07:49] Lotlhuitl whispers something.
  797. [07:49] Nyphadora exclaims, "Oh!"
  798. [07:49] Lotlhuitl whispers something.
  799. [07:50] Nyphadora says, "Mm, thank you."
  800. [07:50] Erling the Black whispers something.
  801. [07:50] Lotlhuitl whispers something.
  802. [07:50] Lotlhuitl whispers something.
  803. [07:50] Brazha Earthcleaver says, ". .When I said this wasn't the place. I didn't mean. "Keep talking. But now quiet.""
  804. [07:50] Erling the Black says, "Apologies."
  805. [07:51] Lotlhuitl whispers something.
  806. [07:52] For the third time, Brazha rises from their seat. Instead of holding the glass out towards Nyphadora even longer, the titan places it back down upon the table, instead retrieving the armour once more.
  807. And then, with the ponderous inevitability of a glacier, they make for the door.
  808.
  809. "Vaalmooran. We will discuss your. Arrangement. In private."
  810. (Brazha Earthcleaver)
  811. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  812.
  813. [07:53] Nyphadora was trying to figure out how to accept the glass, but physical strength limits her greatly!
  814. (Nyphadora)
  815. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  816.
  817. [07:55] Lotlhuitl had reached for Erling, her whispers taking on a hissed, urgent tone. Demanding. But Erling seemed not to answer her, much to the masked Nagual's dismay.
  818.
  819. She had been following him, thinking that Brazha was done with her for now. That she would have to come back to deal with the cyclops.
  820.
  821. And then she was blinking, head craned backwards as she stared up at the hulking figure.
  822.
  823. "Very well."
  824. (Lotlhuitl)
  825. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  826.
  827. [07:55] Erling the Black says, "Enjoy your chat. I will be at my forge then."
  828. [07:55] Brazha Earthcleaver says, "Farm work. Crops to water. Now."
  829.
  830.
  831.
  832. (And then Lotlhuitl was put to work.)
