  1. Uchiha, Koto nodded, linking her hands together behind her back.
  2.
  3. "This occurred about nine years ago - shortly after our graduating class had... well, graduated. We were all Genin, and feelin' good for it. So, these two kids, one named Yin, the other our own esteemed Jounin, Hao, Nahoshi... decided they were going to play a simple prank."
  4.
  5. Yin, of course, was long dead by now. She remembered how it had happened... Hisaya. One of the few executions that the Senju had carried out herself, at such a tender age. She wondered if that had been a part of the reason things ended as they did with her...
  6.
  7. "Yin transformed into Koma -- the headmaster of the academy at the time -- and Nahoshi transformed into the Sandaime Hokage, Shirusu, Chizuru. They decided to hand out these ridiculous looking, bright neon-pink outfits to a couple of Genin and demand they parade around in them, myself included. Told us that they would explain why later, but that it was very important."
  8.
  9. She laughed a little, shaking her head. Thinking back to how confused she had felt, but how sternly she had defended those ridiculous looking things - simply because 'Koma', who she had adored with such vigor, had told her they were necessary. Even if 'Koma' had been acting a little odd.
  10.
  11. "We learned later that they were transformations. And... the social climate at the time? Transforming into top officials like Koma and Chizuru was a serious crime. I happened to be in the area when Nahoshi was confronted, and after a little discussion and chatting... the man who later became Yondaime Hokage, Kobayashi, Matsuo did something that I will never forget."
  12.
  13. Of course, looking back, it was paltry. The things she had seen, the things she had done, what had been put on display in front of her was like a children's picture book in comparison, tame and easy on the eyes. But at the time, it had instilled the fear of God into her... or, rather, the fear of Matsuo.
  14.
  15. "...He touched the hilt of his sword. That was it. That, alone, was enough to project a Killing Intent so fierce that even those around Nahoshi were effected. I watched in slow, excruciating detail, saw every step he took in slow motion, as he stepped forward to behead Nahoshi for her 'crime'. I saw every bit of severed muscle and bone, the blood spray in startling clarity... and then, it was as if nothing had happened. Nahoshi was fine. We were fine. And he walked away, giving Nahoshi her real sentence. But what he had done was vicious enough that it was the first time I believe I'd ever felt true fear. Fear for my life."
