**Plot 1 : Eater of All**
RP : Benevolent Despot Bert Khan the Devourer (/u/Bertdog211), King of Georgia, and, as part of the terms of his peace treaty with Byzantium, the new Eastern Roman *Magister Equitum per Georgia* (one of the two regional commanders-in-chief in Georgia, specifically the supreme commander of all cavalry stationed there; lit. “Master of the Cavalry of Georgia”), has decided to take a tour of his western provinces, those most deeply involved with the recent illegal war waged by the traitorous Klonam. Wiz (/u/mrwizard71), Court Wizard of Georgia, accompanied King Bert Khan due to the King’s appreciation for his cheap tricks, and for the occasional tidbit of insightful advice.
Never leaving the King’s side, on pain of being eaten alive, Wiz was unable to do much other than add an atmospheric touch to the otherwise rather generic Georgian court. The court, following the security protocols established by King Bert Khan’s new Vicegerent and Prime Minister, Marcus, travelled throughout the western cities, starting with Gori. There, in a city where pro-war and anti-Byzantine sentiment ran high, King Bert Khan himself devoured all who disapproved of the peace or of his rule, or who kinda looked like they disapproved of such. In the city of Zugdidi, the same purge of traitors, potential traitors, and alleged traitors occured, leaving both cities rather unpopulated. The survivors, the few loyal citizens of those cities, were rewarded with lump sum payments from the royal treasury.
King Bert Khan, now full, decided to cease the mass devouring for the moment, much to the relief of the citizens of Batumi, the next stop on King Bert Khan’s journey. By the time King Bert Khan reached Batumi, word of the just but brutal punishment of those who displeased him had reached across all corners of Georgia, causing those who may have been considering treason to reconsider their life choices. Along with that news came summons for all of the King’s ministers, generals, and magnates to Batumi, where they all dutifully came. Those who refused to heed the King’s summons, obviously an act of treason, were captured by the King’s messenger-commandos and brought to the him for devouring.
At Batumi, while Wiz’s cheap tricks amused the assembled dignitaries and eased tensions, excruciatingly detailed status updates and financial reports were demanded from all in attendance. These reports, analyzed by King Bert Khan’s own keen mind, as well as the slightly less keen minds of his highly-paid auditors, examiners, and analysts, looked carefully for any irregularities, discrepancies, or other signs pointing to treason. Even King Bert Khan’s own Court Wizard was not immune to this, and his constant presence at King Bert Khan’s side made it extremely difficult for him to hide any secret dealings.
Any of the assembled dignitaries whose books looked crooked were of course grilled for information, checked for poison, then eaten alive by King Bert Khan. Decrees were signed stripping all of these traitorous scum of their former titles and honours, depriving them of their estates and holdings, banishing all of their kinsmen and relations from Georgia, and retroactively sentencing them to death. Those dignitaries who proved their loyalty, on the other hand, were dismissed to continue doing their thing, but not before being burdened with a nice sack of gold for their trouble.

**Plot 2 : Troops are mine**
RP : General Stalin (/u/stalinomics), Minister of War of Georgia, has been assigned by King Bert Khan the task of rooting out any hints of disloyalty from the Georgian military. Due to the military nature of this project, a standard military chain of command was put in place for it, with designated subordinates clearly empowered to assume control and see it through to completion, if Stalin was for any reason unable or unwilling to do so himself.
Despite the transfer of operational command authority of active military units from the Georgian Ministry of War to the Eastern Roman *Magisterium Militum per Georgia* (“Mastery of the Soldiers of Georgia”), jointly commanded by King Bert Khan, the *Magister Equitum per Georgia* (“Master of the Cavalry of Georgia”), and Marcus, the *Magister Peditum per Georgia* (“Master of the Infantry of Georgia”), the Ministry of War was still responsible for supporting, organizing, and overseeing the Georgian military. General Stalin thus could devote himself completely to his new assignment, without being distracted by actually commanding the military in battle.
Firstly, General Stalin realized that payment was the ultimate motivator of most men. Thusly, some money was allocated from the treasury for a pay raise to all soldiers, with the accompanying informational pamphlets explaining that it was only due to the just and magnamious rule of King Bert Khan that these pay raises were possible. Bonuses for excellent performance were written into the pay schedule to encourage top performers, and bonuses for bringing to the military police any suspicious or questionable behaviour were also enacted, to encourage loyal men to rat their treasonous fellows out.
The rotating of men out from the gruelling front lines, and from tedious garrison duties, was also noted as a potential morale booster. Thus, several regiments of troops were, operational requirements permitting, shuffled around to new postings. Peacetime leave was also increased, allowing the brave fighting men of Georgia more time to spend at home with their families. Unneeded formations of troops guarding the foggy northern frontier were reassigned to useful postings, so that these changes did not inhibit the total amount of Georgian soldiers available to fight on the front lines.
But those administrative changes, while highly effective at improving general morale, were not enough to satisfy King Bert khan’s demands. So, General Stalin decided that an intensive propaganda and indoctrination campaign was in order, to supplement the more prosaic improvements to the soldiers’ working conditions. Due to the recent unjust surprise attack against our friends in Byzantium, due to the vile Klonam’s traitorous misrule, there was still moderate anti-Byzantine sentiment amongst the troops, which could likely hinder King Bert Khan’s dream of closer cooperation with the Byzantines. The many abrupt changes in Georgia’s leadership itself have also weakened the military’s loyalty to any specific master, which obviously is bad.
General Stalin and his staff of advisors have determined to tackle these problems via a three-pronged approach. First, overt propaganda will be dispersed to the troops. Despite its lack of subtlety, propaganda is a proven, effective method of persuasion. Pamphlets detailing King Bert Khan’s exploits, and lambasting his enemies’ horribleness; as well as rousing and emphatic speeches at parade-ground gatherings and strategy meetings; entertainers with pro-Bert poetry and anti-Bert’s-enemies satire; and, of course, prostitutes and other camp followers pillow talking about how great Bert is, will all integrated into every aspect of military life.
Second, political officers will be attached to every military formation, ready to offer formal training and workshops in completely unbiased military history, political science, and correct doctrine. Rabble-rousers who dispute or object to these teachings will be involuntarily retired from active service, if they refuse to promptly correct their ways. Thirdly and finally, the upper echelons of the officer corps will be carefully analyzed for treacherous or subversive tendencies. While the troops on the ground seldom debel for purely political reasons, the generals commanding them often do. Those generals with a touch too much ambition, secretiveness, ideological flexibility, or disagreement with King Bert Khan’s rule, will be summarily relieved of command, and more loyal and honourable men will be promoted to replace them.

Results : All Georgian military units are made loyal to /u/Bertdog211, and are indoctrinated into believing his vision for Georgia. Antiplot against unit flips, defections, desertions, mutinies, and other acts of disloyalty by the troops. In the event of a civil war in Georgia, all military units will be controlled by /u/Bertdog211’s side.
**Plot 3 : Cities are mine too**
RP : The advent of King Bert Khan’s reign in the seventeenth century B.C. gave rise to a new and dangerous clan in the heart of the Georgian Kingdom. Calling themselves “The Redeemers”, they believed that when a city was occupied by an enemy nation, it was polluted by foreign influences, traditions and goods. Likewise, a city in allegiance to a traitor or an usurper was likewise believed tainted, by the foul crimes of oath-breaking and dishonour. The only method of cleansing the land of these unholy stenches was by burning. The Redeemers, a group that quickly gained members and support, came to be feared by all Georgians in border cities.

In the shadow of this group's success, and the general fear of them, both concerned citizens and the government provided money and man-hours to build new fortifications in the areas of high risk, to boost the stability and defensive capabilities. Under fear of the fires of cleansing, all citizens, from the young girl at the spinning wheel to the elderly man in his last years were prepared to fight to the death against any opposition that came their way, and were on the lookout for any questionable or subversive behaviour indicative of an infiltration or rebellion in process.

**Plot 4 : Don’t kill me**
RP : Marcus (/u/Marcuszodiak), Praetorian Prefect and *Magister Peditum per Georgia* (one of the two regional commanders-in-chief in Georgia, specifically the supreme commander of all infantry stationed there; lit. “Master of the Infantry of Georgia”) of the Eastern Roman Empire, has been assigned from the Byzantine state to assist in securing King Bert Khan’s rule. With traitors and slimeballs hiding in every corner of his government, King Bert Khan was eminently grateful for the presence of a man he could rely upon. Thusly, Marcus was swiftly appointed Vicegerent of Georgia, the voice of the King, and regent apparent should the King ever be indisposed. King Bert Khan also appointed Marcus to the cabinet posts of Prime Minister, head of the civil service  and overseer all other ministers, and of Minister of the Interior, in change of policing, counterintelligence, and national security issues.
It was that last charge, ensuring Georgia’s national security, that occupied Marcus’s mind today. The paramount national security concern of the Kingdom of Georgia is, of course, the safety of King Bert Khan, and a close second is the safety of his only loyal advisor, Marcus. Since most assassins logically look for royal prey in the great palaces and castles, a first countermeasure is to not lounge around in the throne room all day. Thusly, King Bert Khan will hold his court on a boat, or, rather, a series of boats. Which boat he holds his court in will, of course, rotate from within a series of boats, whose crews have been subject to extreme vetting and indoctrination.
Now, that’s all fine and dandy, but sometimes King Bert Khan has to get up and govern his kingdom in person. And it’s possible, though unlikely, for an assassin to slip his way onto the current royal flagship. An elite royal bodyguard, recruited from the finest and most loyal Georgian shock troops, and trained by the Praetorian Prefect Marcus personally in close protection and close-quarters combat, as well as in more investigatory things such as spotting those of ill-intent in a crowd, and in sweeping an area for hidden assassins and traps. These elite, loyal fighting men would accompany King Bert Khan, both at sea and on land, and would ensure that he came to no harm. Marcus, by the virtue of travelling with King Bert Khan, would incentally be protected by these royal guardsmen too.
Food tasters, lip readers, emergency physicians, and other counter-assassination specialists from the Byzantine court would be brought by Marcus to further ensure King Bert Khan’s safety. Due to King Bert Khan’s unusual dietary habits, enemies of the state were first checked for poisons in their bloodstreams and organs before being sent to King Bert Khan to deal with. King Bert Khan would, as befitting of a warrior-king, walk around in armour and a gilded helmet in public, to prevent any surprise assassins from striking a single lethal blow. The schedule of the royal court would be kept strictly confidential, to prevent wouldbe murderers from knowing where the court would be next.
Any who desired an audience with King Bert Khan would first be interviewed and vetted by Marcus, to ensure that they didn’t seek to assassinate the King, let alone simply waste his time or misinform him about current affairs. Despite the constant movement of the royal court, and the secrecy of its future movements, King Bert Khan himself would make his presence known at every stop, and would regularly demand updates from his ministers, generals, and magnates in person, to prevent any from trying to claim that the throne is vacant, or to try to impersonate King Bert Khan and issue orders in his stead.

**Plot 5 : Mending the Schism, Part 1**
RP : The Great Schism between the churches of Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy has long been a wedge between the longstanding friendship between Byzantium and Georgia. After the resolution of the traitor Klonam’s war, many theologians and politicos came to the conclusion that the religious differences between the two state churches helped fuel the sudden animosity between the two nations.
Therefore, the ecumenical councils of both the Catholic and Orthodox prelates have both determined that a merger of their churches would be a good idea. The great movers and shakers of the Orthodox hierarchy have thus, after a long series of debates and negotiations with their Catholic counterparts, to normalise their doctrines and rituals to match those of their obviously superior Western neighbours.
To speed up their efforts, the Orthodox hierarchy has commandeered a squadron of boats to travel quickly in, as the Orthodox faithful are separated by some large bodies of water. Tithe money has been allocated to build new fancy churches and commission some swanky new vestments, to make the new church doctrine seem shinier.
Although these first changes are superficial and controversial, they are taking hold among the Orthodox faithful, slowly but surely. Further meetings are scheduled between the Orthodox and Catholic hierarchies to continue harmonizing their churches, and to formalize the details of a merger between themselves.

Results : The schism between Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy starts to mend, with Catholicism set to become the dominant religion. Eastern Orthodox cities begin to convert to Catholicism, and more will convert as further plots in this series are run.
