My journey in student advocacy started off in tenth grade, at a meeting for the Lynne Harris Student Internship. As I entered the meeting, Lynne’s inclusivity of each member, attention to the issues students faced, and deep knowledge about MCPS inspired me to get involved in local issues. Three years later Lynne has only become more inspiring. From informing her policy decisions based on true student, teacher, staff, and parent experiences, to ensuring our budget responsibly matches the needs of every student across the county, her dedication is unwavering.
