  1. These are some of my compiled notes on Rift. These changes I believe would really improve the game overall. I know Rift is still in a transitional state but business wise, the game is like a Diamond covered in feces. Sure it's a diamond under the feces and people on the outside may even see the glimmer of it but they won't touch it if it doesn't seem worth it. You have a game that cost millions and millions of dollars to develop, it can make a lot more money still. FF14 proves that. That game is so slow and boring. All you have to do is be aggressive when it comes to Quality of Life and server stability. Make sure the Free to Play souls are fun etc.

  3. Server Stability above all else but that goes without saying.

  5. Character Creation:
  6. Get rid of those old builds made by people or update them with new ones. Could easily be provided by the community on the forums.

  8. Make sure the newly made characters abilities are correctly placed on their hot bar.

  10. Re-do mastery and legendary level requirements to fit the overall 1-70 experience for example. First mastery point could be at 20 etc. The first legendary could be at 30 and gain another every 10 levels. Lower levels are missing out on the best part of the game, which is the soul system.

  15. Clarify buff types and dmg types.

  17. Movement abilities can be cast during other casts/channels

  19. Interrupts can be cast during other spells/channels without interrupting them.

  23. Consider making everyone's base GCD 1 second instead of just Rogue/Primalist

  25. Movement speed x10 or mounted while ghosted. Ghost concept is outdated.

  27. Add a continuous use or rapid fire condition. Hitting a lot of keys will be a thing for the forseeable future. Assuming there isn't a stat crunch and total game change. Why not add a macro function or have some abilities have continuous use/rapid fire?

  29. Ability to lock gear so that it cannot be sold or destroyed in any manner.

  31. For souls that are really weak, make their 61 point reward reduce global cool downs passively. Good example of souls with too much to do and too little time would be ones like defiler and warden. Combining abilities would be another option but just speeding up gcds buffs them enough to give the development team time to work on other things. Basically the balance isn't affected as all you are doing is speeding up a weak soul.

  33. There needs to be t1 currency into engine just like t2 into storm cell.

  36. The t2 trinkets from Uttila are unused besides 2. They need to be updated. Most do not even work in PVP.

  38. Make planar fragments and cores sell-able. This will open a new door for plat trading between players. Which in turn will end up creating more purchases of REX for the players who need plat to buy the fragments from others. This also lessens RNG. Because if a warrior manages to get a planar fragment that is BIS for cleric, now he can put it up for sale.

  40. Option to spend more money on a frag at once, in order to skip the animation.

  42. Taking away week-long locks when it comes to something like upgrading Eternal weapon, as it is a bench mark for gear/raids. It halts people from being brought up and then teaming up with friends.

  44. When T3 comes out, require upgrading the pieces involve backtracking in the game. Like doing DRRs, old dungeons etc. So that people cannot raid log as easily.

  46. Create a weekly reward for running 5 Expert level dungeons at max level so that new level 70s can get expert dungeons easier.

  48. Create a weekly/daily reward for running old content. This could give planar fragments as a reward or Tower frags etc. This could finally get lowbies into dungeons and it would add another option to level besides IA or quest.

  56. Give every class a soul like mystic archer, having to aim and etc. A skill based soul.

  58. Make battle pass rewards more desirable, especially for new players. Maybe even giving out 5$ in credits at BP level 30. The credits need to be just short of buying something beginning players would really really want.

  60. Currency conversion for all currencies. Sell the currency conversion for plat or credits. Anything please.

  62. Sell more interactive dim items.
  63. Such as, porticulum, crafting quest people, crafting trainers. Special pools to fish from. Dance floors. Item that makes the entire dim underwater so that mounts can "fly".

  65. Sell Illusion items that you can keep on during combat.

  67. Sell the raid summon and nightmare dye again.

  69. Sell an item that allows a player to clear instance locks.

  71. Sell an item that can reroll the stats of a level 15 fragment or use fragments and that idea with a new trade skill.

  76. Cores are useless if you aren't upgrading frags. Make them used in a new tradeskill or turn them in for tower frags.

  78. New circular celestial IA but with other elements and put a boss in the middle. Have invasions attack groups randomly and add footholds too.

  81. Allow irotp/tdnm to be ran like EOA. Just increase IRC cost to an appropriate amount. This will sell more IRC. Consider this on the new raids.

  83. Release new raids. Tower of anhket and a raid that is like QF.

  85. Add another challenge dungeon. Even if it is a hard dungeon from the past scaled up.

  93. New pvp only rewards that only change appearance. Special weapon looks, illusions etc.

  98. Increase plat sell value of pvp items to what they should be. Fix plat value of cloaks in general.

  102. Consider another version of Battlepass that is only PVP oriented. Like maybe even killing NPCs in Meridian/Sanctum.

  104. PVP quick balance notes,

  106. Nerf bladedancer, paragon, some primalist abilities and see where things stand. Healing maybe fine with people doing less dmg but it might feel boring. In which case, bursty dps needs to increase and healing increase then the cut down healing abilities more relevant.
  107. Currently Primalist is still best healer but Warrior is 2nd and on the way to best. Cleric is currently still the weakest option in pvp. However pvp is still fun.

  113. Server stability is by far the most important to the player.

  117. Tease new things with pictures and not words. Even if it's a picture over the shoulder of a developer working on something and you cant even tell what it is or maybe a character in an unfamiliar zone.

  119. Quickly adding something new to end game content is another important task to retain players.

  123. Pets and beacons aggro and health increased or scale much better.

  129. Starweave cloth has no real use or way to use them independently of leather. Needs an item to be crafted using cloth alone.

  133. Consider making a new bag that uses starweave cloth but possibly the same size as currently sold bags.

  135. Cores from fragments need to be usable somehow

  137. Planar Frags should be trade-able.

  143. Vampiric Essence should be allowed to go on offhand items. It goes on main/one hand/two hand. Why not offhand for casters?
