  1. This is the set of battle rules for the Foodchain of Command Saga. When in battle, the goal is to reduce the bosses' Hit Points (from here on out referred to as HP) to 0 while preventing your own and the battlefield/continent's HPs from reaching 0. Also, this is heavily based on Ultimecia's battle RP rules with slight additions and tweaks. As we go through the event, this list will get more fleshed out and comprehensive. OK, read on now...
  2.
  3. RULES OF ENGAGEMENT
  4.
  5. 1) All participants will have 200 HP each. The battlefield (continents) have a set HP as well, shown in the board index (full HP being 100%). Bosses' HP will be shown during the battle proper.
  6.
  7. 2) In every attack, bosses deal damage to both the players and the continent where a battle is currently held. Inversely, damage will be dealt by players by posting at the corresponding continent sub-forum and thread. There are three (3) types of comments that can be posted. These are:
  8.
  9. a) ATTACK
  10.
  11. This is how you deal damage to the boss. To attack, you should make a post that indicates your attack and end your post like this:
  12.
  13. /[character name (optional)] attacks [name of boss] with Hadouken
  14.
  15. Without that, your post will not count as an attack. Take note that attacks affecting a wide area - for example, calling up lava to shoot out from underground - have the potential of harming both your allies and the continent. Your attack damage is calculated using the following equation:
  16.
  17. Objective Damage (max: 50) + Subjective Damage (max: 50) = Total Damage (max: 100)
  18.
  19. It looks like a whole lot of work but it's actually pretty easy so hang in there. Objective Damage (OD) is determined by your post count divided by 10 and Subjective Damage (SD) is measured by just how awesome/cool/dramatic/high-level your attack post is. For example, Arcana attacks with a Shining Sword Attack. His post count (as of this time anyway) is 2761. Divide that by 10 and you get 276.1; it's a whole lot bigger than our maximum value of 50 so we'll have to stick with 50. Now, let's say his attack was so-so, not really gut-wrenching; let's give him a 15 for effort though. Now we have our OD and SD! So, what's next:
  20.
  21. 50 + 15 = 65/100
  22.
  23. Arcana deals 65 damage to the boss! See, it's easy. Now, you'd ask - how about the members with low post count? Everyone with a post count amount lesser than 100 will automatically get 10 OD.
  24.
  25. b) DEFEND
  26.
  27. Defending allows for you to receive only half the incoming damage dealt by the boss worth one attack. For example, the boss will be attacking with something that shreds off 50 HP. If you defend, you receive half - 25 damage all in all. To defend, make a post that indicates that you've defended and end your post like this:
  28.
  29. /blocks [name of boss]'s attack -or- /defends
  30.
  31. c) SUPPORT
  32.
  33. You can make use of items in your inventory by supporting - recovery items (those that heal HP), damage-increasing items, the works. Items can be purchased at stores found in every continent by paying credits (the stuff you get coinciding with post count, look below your avatar and you'll see it). To support, make a post that shows your action and end your post like this:
  34.
  35. /uses [name of item] on [recipient, can be on self when allowed by the item]
  36.
  37. 4) A neat way to kick ass during a battle is the COMBO ATTACK, where two participants synchronize their attacks with each other, paving the way for instant ownage. To do a combo, choose a partner. Talk about how you'll execute your combo and then post accordingly - one after the other, the latter posting this:
  38.
  39. /[player 1] and [player 2] attack [name of boss] with [name of combo]
  40.
  41. A combo's damage output can be devastatingly high and it entirely depends on how good you've done it.
  42.
  43. 5) A standing rule for all FoE events is that posting oversized pictures is forbidden. Breaking that rule 3 times will get you expelled from the event. The maximum size for pictures is 400 x 400 px, take note.
  44.
  45. 6) If suddenly something important would prevent you from actively participating, notify the admins.
  46.
  47. 7) If you have questions, don't hesitate to ask - chances are that we're just hanging out @ chat. We'll be happy to help you out with whatever query you have.
