  1. # You pull over someone who is being difficult and seems very angry, this individual has gun strapped to his hip, upon running his plate you notice he has a felony. How do you handle this situation? (45 words minimum)
  2. #### I'd request two additional 10-32s initially upon noticing the gun when was out of earshot, so they arrive once I have finished with running the plate. If the individual refuses to provide documentation of the firearm, I would conduct the following scenario:
  3.
  4. (This is assuming they have given me their name or license to find the felony, but will not produce evidence of gun ownership or other reasonable ways to deescalate the situation) I'm also assuming here that they are impeding my investigation with the difficulty to the point where I feel threatened if I press the issue further without conducting this scenario.
  5.
  6. Upon the additionals arriving I would simply draw my pistol and open the driverside door of my car, I would advise the other officers to do the same in cover. I would then ask the individual to turn off the vehicle, open the window and drop the keys onto the road. I would then instruct the individual to step out of the car facing away from me with their hands in the air at all times. From there I would then have them walk backwards to the sound of my voice while keeping their hands raised. Once they are right in front of my cruiser I would tell them to kneel down KEEPING THEIR HANDS RAISED IN THE AIR. I would then ask the additional officer to my right to move in while I cover them. I would advise the other additional to move towards this individuals hands and keep them out in front when the first additional moves them to the ground. From there, I would approach the now-pinned individual and remove the weapon from the holster so the other officers may bring this person's hands around to cuff them.
