  1. [09:33] The church is stomped into by a dreadnaught of a creature, his form emblazoned in shadow and flame. It scathes the pavement, seething the velvetry of the carpet and ruining the ruddy wood that scrawled the church's inner grounds.
  2.
  3. Burningly intense, the revenant's stare is set only forward, fixed obsessively on the Stellus of the Celestial Church, namely "Osric Durai."
  4.
  5. A large spade-like, brutish and distorted metal instrument of war is drawn from the Heathen's back, its edge of grue and deformed iron complacently pointed at the white-clad priest.
  6.
  7. "Corruptor. Sinner. Adorer of the rotten firmament, servant of dead gods."
  8.
  9. In a flash, a dark blaze erupts across the entourage with mote intensity than before, imbuing the titan of a man within a colossal frame of armor.
  10.
  11. "I have come to execute you for your transgressions."
  12. (Heathen)

  15. [09:34] Paca Kuma whispers something.
  16. [09:34] Paca Kuma says, "..."
  17. [09:35] Paca Kuma says, "Well shit... Doubt any of the city guard will get here in time..."
  18. [09:38] Sigwald was quick to notice when something was amiss. One would be a fool to think that his nature, cowardly and nervous, had gone away after learning the basic. In a display of speed and maneuer the child jumped back onto the platform of the main hall. He did not know this one, he had never seen such creature before.
  19.
  20. Returning to his more comfortable state, on all fours, he stared with his eyes bulging out. Although most words Heathen spoke were barely noticeable his intentions were clear, the bloodlust real.
  21.
  22. And so the youth would watch as flames came to crash against the Church and disturb the peace of all those around.
  23. (Sigwald)

  26. [09:38] The Acolyte's head whips to the side, his body automatically getting up, as someone emblazoned in shadows and flames marches into the church, burning the carpet in the process.
  27.
  28. That magic around them sending a chill down the Young man's spine as he stands beside his friend.
  29.
  30. He frowns upon hearing how they address the Stellus, even referring to the Stars as dead gods. How dare they?!
  31.
  32. Feeling the heat of the flames brushing around him as they grow in intensity, the Acolyte's hand falls on the dagger at his side. If someone had come to bring destruction upon the Church and harm to any Clergymen, he couldn't just stand still.
  33.
  34. His eyes flicker between this mysterious person and the Stellus as he stands still for the moment.
  35. (Rain Multhunder)

  38. [09:39] Without any fanfare, the Knight had entered the Church some time ago. She was pious - devout. Had she not been born into a Noble family of Knights, her path may have led her here. With her faith in the stars, she easily could have become a high-standing Priestess in the Faith.
  39.
  40. ---But, she wasn't. She was a Knight - a Guardian.
  41.
  42. It's only the space of a few moments between the cloaked man speaking, and the Astor girl rising to action. The distance is closed in the same fluid motion that her rapier is drawn, held out defensively as she places her body between Heathen's and Osrics.
  43.
  44. "--Stellus," She breathes sharply - face steeled. "Please, take cover."
  45. (Estellise ven Astor)

  47.
  48. [09:41] My, this one was new.
  49.
  50. The smile, for once, breaks. It is not a striking of fear that crawls across his face, though, but one of sadness.
  51.
  52. "You come into a most holy of places...
  53.
  54. You are surrounded by men and women of the cloth. You walk upon hallowed ground, child, and you decry gods? We have no gods, only stars.
  55.
  56. Take a seat, child. You know not what you do."
  57.
  58. Still, a latent thrum of holy energies overwhelm him as he prepares himself for what may be a sudden strike...
  59.
  60. "There is still time before you sin further."
  61.
  62. True to his name, the Stellus wasn't going to be the one to draw first blood. If Heathen wanted him, he's need to lunge.
  63.
  64. Seemingly, through another...
  65.
  66. "Lady As--"
  67.
  68. A wicked click of his tongue comes as his tome is pulled forth, a brilliant shimmer of holy magic escaping from it--a barrier.
  69.
  70. Protecting those beyond himself and the knight.
  71.
  72. It was trivial enough to break for either side--but it would give some semblance of ward from the idle mayhem of battle.
  73.
  74.
  75. (Osric Durai)

  78. [09:42] Kuma let out a super exhausted sigh as out of all the things to happen right now, this was the very last thing he could have thought would happen. Dark bags sat under the boys eyes as his half opened eyes tried it's best to make out the figure of who said it. He'd think at first, the strange cloak he was wearing reminding him of others he had known.
  79.
  80. But the creatures figure must have been unique. The boy really think of anyone he knew who could be considered a dreadnaught. "Tall..." He'd mutter as he continued to look on. Reaching into his bag, the boy grasped his staff. Unsure what would go down, the boy knew he had to be prepared even if he couldn't do much.
  81. (Paca Kuma)

  83.
  84. [09:45] Surprisingly, the Heathen listens to Osric's discourse quietly, even as the flame that protrudes from what can only be presumed to be his eye sockets vaunt with increasing fervor. Has hallowed ground been decried? Have gods been decried?
  85.
  86. Good. The avenging heretic lives to blaspheme the corruption concealed in guise of ashen.
  87.
  88. As Estellise ven Astor hops between the two, a pearly, macabre smirk beams beneath the darkness of his hood. "Preposterous. Stand out of the way- the cumplices of this nation's greatest sinners are only my second priority."
  89.
  90. The robed revenant launches his weapon directly forward, initiating what was likely an unwarranted assault.
  91.
  92. Or was it? Estellise's challenge might as well have been considered professed.
  93. (Heathen)
  94. ________________________________________
  95.
  96. [09:54] Kuma grasped his staff tightly as he continued to watch. The strange holy spell of Osric's was something he hadn't really seen before. The boy would try his hardest to suppress the feelings of curiosity as this could well be a life or death situation, but with a strange protecting barrier suddenly cast for his sake, the boy felt like he had to check it out.
  97.
  98. The staff that hung in his arms would slowly move outwards. It was like a gentle string was tugging it along. If you weren't watching the boy, you might not have even noticed that he was moving. A curious look escaped Kuma's eyes once his staff had made contact with the barrier. "Neat..." He'd mutter as his staff gently grazed along it like how a kid would graze a branch across a wooden fence.
  99.
  100. Satisfied with his safety from stray non targeted at him attacks, the boy put all his attention out onto the fight that looked like it was starting.
  101. (Paca Kuma)

  104. [09:54] Religion, heresy, belief.. Things that Sigwald was oblivious to. Why did this man come to try and kill others? Ideology. Something lost to a child forced to grow in the borderline of man and beast. His small, hazel eyes continued to focus on the figure in black but now it had noticed the woman as well.
  105.
  106. He had seen many colorful Bipedals but it was as if her more colorful nature was a sign of it's heritage? Perhaps the amount of color a Bipedal wore meant their standing within their society? Or so Sigwald would roughly think.
  107.
  108. A quiet stare as their fight went on, his breathing almost gone.
  109. (Sigwald)

  111.
  112. [09:55] The weapon that the hooded man launches forward collides with the Stellus' barrier -- There's a crackle and a clash of light and might and the barrier shatters, but not before the weapon clatters to the ground. The barrier and the projectile were evenly matched, it seems - and the Noble girl swallows a lump of anxiety in her throat and shifts a foot back defensively.
  113.
  114. "--You have acted on intent to harm a high ranking member of the Church," She says slowly - her voice trying not to shake.
  115.
  116. She knew that she was in over her head. She knew her chances were not with her. --Her hand clenches knuckle-white at her rapier, and she does what she can to calm herself, to extend herself into it - Just as Audree had said.
  117.
  118. "An attempted attack on myself aside, as well as the cowl you choose to wear marking your clear allegiance -- This is grounds for your arrest under the Order of the First light. --I ask you to come with me quietly, but understand that I am wasting my breath."
  119. (Estellise ven Astor)

  122. [09:56] Seeing as there was a Knight to take care of things for now, the Acolyte simply moves to stand to the side, not wanting to get in the way.

  126. [09:56] Melody strolls into the church, her eyes struggling to stay open as she rubs her head. She splays across one of the pews and groans quietly to herself.
  127.
  128. "Nnn.... Damn Sake..."
  129.
  130. She figured that she'd spend some time tending to any injured that might show up at the church, as if she had a strange premonition that there'd be an influx today. Really though, she figured the church was quiet, and she could stay there to get over her hangover.
  131. (Melody)

  133.
  134. [09:58] The High Priest continues to conjure his barriers to protect the others within the Church.
  135.
  136. It takes a lot of concentration while others battle!
  137.
  138. For his life he holds no fear--but for Estellise?
  139.
  140. The young Astor lady...?
  141.
  142. The lives of others are the one thing that can elicit since a primal fear from the priest, his barriers intensifying to protect all that were not actively fighting.
  143.
  144. Little is spared for the Astor--to protect moving targets is an ability far from his capability.
  145.
  146. All he could do is watch behind the manifestations...
  147. (Osric Durai)

  149.
  150. [09:58] "Ridiculous."
  151.
  152. A whip of flame jolts from the Heathen's grasp, attempting to grip his weapon back into holding range. There are no more words to be spared, no more speeches to be blurted and spat.
  153.
  154. Excessive ideology is indolence, and the heretic is nothing if not proactive.
  155.
  156. "Then I shall start with the knight!"
  157.
  158. With a gesture, the Heathen's flame-armored core becomes more dense, thickening its surface into an opaque, rigid shell. He braced for impact. He dashed forward, lunging at Estellise.
  159. (Heathen)

  162. [10:01] Paca Kuma says, "God damn..."
  163. [10:01] Melody says, "Nnn... Loud..."
  164. [10:03] Though it was loud because of the fight, Melody felt it was still her duty to provide music for the battle. From her position, she tiredly sang out an intense battle theme. Seriously, she needed a new instrument.
  165.
  166. "Doo doo doooooo~ Doo doo DOOOOO~"
  167.
  168. It was hard to sing with a throbbing headache, though it was her bardly duty to do so.
  169. (Melody)

  171.
  172. [10:04] She did not go into this expecting to win.
  173.
  174. She knew that she was not strong -- Not strong enough to beat down a syndicate member on her own. But … she had to try, didn't she … ?
  175.
  176. That was her role.
  177.
  178. As a Knight --
  179.
  180. -- as a Noble.
  181.
  182. As heat and blade clash and burn, she's felled easily. But -- she pushes herself up off the ground with the hilt of her sword, clenching her teeth. At the least … perhaps she pull the hooded man away from the Stellus and everyone inside the church.
  183. (Estellise ven Astor)
  184. ________________________________________
  185.
  186. [10:04] The revenant is implacable and violent, a force of nature that wreaks havoc wherever it crosses. A whirlwind of flame that has Osric's barier barely hold its own together.
  187.
  188. He is a catastrophe, a walking embodiment of disaster.
  189.
  190. "Complacent. Lazy. Slothful. What are you if not an even greater blasphemer than my brothers and sisters could ever hope to be?"
  191.
  192. An overhead slam sends the Heathen's spade crashing against the ground, fissuring cracks that too quick spread athwart the already ravaged pavement. A release of tension- nothing but a motion made in sheer anger, arbitrary and aimless.
  193.
  194. "REPENT!"
  195.
  196. The irony in the statement is tangible, but so is the outrage. The beckon for repentance is a hymn the Heathen has expressed many times before.
  197. (Heathen)

  200. [10:06] ** Heathen has inflicted an injury upon Estellise ven Astor. ("Permanent Injury", "Permanent Injury", "Permanent", "Severity: MODERATE (-20 Vit)") **
  201. [10:13] Kuma couldn't help but feel a bit useless in the situation. After seeing the noble fight, he felt like she was years ahead of him. But even then, she still lost to the monstrous man. A short time of space seemed to have been created as the giant was finishing off his encounter with the woman. With determined eyes, the boy looked off to the side towards Melody.
  202.
  203. Unsure how she was faring over the encounter, he'd rush over towards her side. "Melody... Are you alright...? Bad time right now. Stay behind me, Osric casted a barrier."
  204. (Paca Kuma)

  206.
  207. [10:13] The onslaught continues at full throttle, ravaging the church's grounds with each brandish, swing and clash of blaze and ethereal gold. Estellise might not be a formidable fighter, but it is clear that the tight confines of the church hinder her against such an intense, pressuring combatant.
  208.
  209. When she falters an opening into view, the Syndicate enforcer launches a fiery thrust of his blade's pommel against her chest, superficially singing itself into her sternum and then releasing an explosive blast.
  210.
  211. It knocks the intrepid knight several yards back, sending her reeling onto the staircase, and then rolling aslant the narrow patch of greenery at the back of those central chambers.
  212.
  213. "A hindrance. An objective display of how your Order continues to fail us."
  214.
  215. Another twist, his eyes are once again set on Osric. The armored titan that bathes him grows even further in size, threatening to collapse under its own monumental fixture, so hefty and massive it was.
  216.
  217. "Surrender, Osric Durai, and I shan't take any more lives today. My objective is clear- are you altruistic enough, corruptor? Liar."
  218. (Heathen)
  219. ________________________________________
  220.
  221. [10:15] The distance put between Estellise and the rest of the entourage would bar their immediate view, but further appraisal made by any of the present would reveal a fist-sized cross-shaped (or star if you prefer) burn scarification set across her sternum.
  222. (Heathen)

  225. [10:15] * You have been awarded 1 Roleplay Points! *
  226. [10:15] The fight came to a conclusion, and it seemed that the church was at a loss. The syndicate was everywhere these days, and it made the bard grumpy. So grumpy that she practically whispered the victory fanfare that she was contractually obliged to play at the end of any given battle.
  227.
  228. While the magic wad loud, and the opposite of what this doctor ordered, it would seem she might have accidentally stumbled onto a situation where she would actually be needed. Surely, the rest of the church would have to fight next.
  229.
  230. "Hungover, but I figured I'd come and join the after party."
  231.
  232. She said with her usual smug attitude, stripped of the smirk that often accompanied her snappiness. Any ounce of her usual attitude was quickly quelled by the sight of Estelise's injury, which made her wince empathetically.
  233.
  234. "Well, technically, this is a good time for me to be here. I doubt any of the other medics will be able to tend to her right now."
  235. (Melody)

  237.
  238. [10:19] There was hope for Lady Astor...
  239.
  240. ...but deep inside, Osric knew it was a fantasy. Her heart was pure, but she was not steeled. Her graces were grand, but she hadn't seen true, real combat. She wasn't ready for the harsh realities of steel.
  241.
  242. Steel that strikes deep into her flesh as she falls in combat.
  243.
  244. For the lightest, most fragile of moments do the barriers strain as she hits the ground.
  245.
  246. "...Altruism!" Into the air the holy codex cosmos rises, the Stellus stepping forth past his own barriers that protect the clergy from harm. "You speak of Altruism like you know the word!
  247.
  248. There is no trust between us.
  249.
  250. There is no amicability.
  251.
  252. You have nothing but your word and your word is ash upon the tongues of men.
  253.
  254. You do not even wield the occult!" His voice echos, vicious and full of righteousness. "You come to a place so holy, whose sole devotion is to give to those in need, and you dare sully it with blood?
  255.
  256. A murderer with an excuse. You have no greater calling and you have no great moral backing.
  257.
  258. If you wish my life, come in take it."
  259.
  260. Like a sun high in the air the codex glows, bathing the Stellus in a majestic radiance. The barriers, too, glow in harmony with him as he becomes as difficult to see as the sun itself.
  261.
  262. "For I will no longer grant an opportunity to allow others to be harmed."
  263.
  264. Light fills the air as he marches forth towards Heathen...
  265.
  266.
  267. (Osric Durai)

  269.
  270. [10:21] Circling around the battle to get close to the High Priest, the Acolyte observes the dangerous fight unfold... Well, dangerous to the Knight, who was clearly outmatched and nowhere near the Heathen's league.
  271.
  272. Still with his hand on the the handle of his dagger, he holds the grip tightly, taking in a deep breath to try and calm his nervousness.
  273.
  274. Gritting his teeth, he na do nothing for the moment but watch the insides of the church being destroyed, but he tries to focus on getting closer to the High Priest, however, the fight is short lived and the Knight is defeated.
  275.
  276. Seeing the Heathen's weapon soon coming down on the Stellus, the Acolyte can do nothing but watching from the side for the moment, simply wondering if he's even capable of aiding.
  277.
  278. It doesn't even seem like he would need to help though...
  279. (Rain Multhunder)

  282. [10:21] Walking inward the Church to go about her daily prayer, Emily would blink softly as she spotted some strange tension going on between those within. People had their auras drawn up around them with a hooded figure standing center stage with fire veiling their person. Blinking in some curiosity, she couldn't help but feel alarmed at what she was witnessing.
  283.
  284. Were people battling inside the Church of the Faith!?
  285.
  286.
  287. Stancing in a martial manner, she would go to help, but it seemed her Stellus was already ready to fight!
  288.
  289. "What in the STARS is going on here!?"
  290.

  294. [10:25] She'd lost easily, but --
  295.
  296. --- Somehow, she'd lived.
  297.
  298. Nevertheless, the cloaked man's sword plunges into her skin with a white-hot heat so blindingly painful that it, almost, doesn't hurt. She cries out in pain, a scream ripping through her throat in an agonized pitch and voice that, at first, she doesn't quite realize is her own.
  299.
  300. And, then -- She's crumpled away, tossed away like garbage. Her head swims through the heat and the pain and she can barely hear the speeches of the Syndicate and the Stellus. They're mumbled, far away words that she can just barely grasp as she rolls over, clutching her burned and bleeding chest with a gasp--
  301.
  302. "St--" She tries to speak out Osric's title, but words can't come to her before they begin to clash --- Before he, too, is overwhelmed by flame.
  303. (Estellise ven Astor)

  305.
  306. [10:26] And they called Sigwald a savage. Display of strength like this, the overwhelming power that Heathen wielded bringing the noble woman down to the ground. Her injury, gruesome, a mark so that she may never forget this day.
  307.
  308. The youth, taking care to remain away from the spetecular magic couldn't help but worry, worry if this was the Bipedals true nature. One that puts power over everything, one that would take a life if they wished for. A savage Sigwald may be but it would seem his perspective of the world was truly alien.
  309. (Sigwald)

  311.
  312. [10:26] The Stellus' stalwart defense of the bystanders is admirable, and protecting them in the midst of combat is with no doubt an arduous task. This, in turn, is a piece of difficulty the Heathen is not impeded by. He lets out a hearty, sinister cackle that resounds fourfold across the spacious length of their arena.
  313.
  314. "SELFISH! Trust? An excuse? Blabber away, Osric Durai! You are nothing but a putrid fruit of Osrona's wickedness! You refuse to sacrifice yourself, for you are afraid for your own life!"
  315.
  316. The creature spins, shaking the very foundations of the church with the ranging, wide-stepped motions of the goliath of fire that housed his form.
  317. (Heathen)

  320. [10:29] Blood spills from his cloth...
  321.
  322. Droplets of vital essence stain the otherwise holy robes, touching upon them with a damp crimson.
  323.
  324. "Ashes upon your tongue!" Even as the flames bake away at skin and cloth both does he stand, shaking and wounding. "You think I care for my life? I ascend to the stars, they will cleanse me of all my wicked sins.
  325.
  326. You will never understand. You care for nothing but yourself. You hold none upon your back. You lash out at the heavens for you have been delivered poor circumstances.
  327.
  328. A tragedy that you are the type we seek out to aid.
  329.
  330. A tragedy that you are such a child that you must bite the hand that feeds."
  331.
  332. The tome drops from the air, being caught in the hands of the High Priest.
  333.
  334. "Come.
  335.
  336. Deliver me to Avalon if you can."
  337.
  338. A surge of holy power flourishes out as he makes another assault!
  339. (Osric Durai)

  341.
  342. [10:35] Blood pours.
  343.
  344. The sacred energies of their lives, drop by drop, marr the church. Splatters of it come from both the holy man and the righteous heathen, casting a vermillion glimmer across the pews.
  345.
  346. Where blood escapes, magic does not. Barriers restrict magic from escaping to the sidelines, dissipating with great strain against the magic.
  347.
  348. Magic that illuminates the entire room.
  349.
  350. Holy cacophonies collide with vicious explosions within the center of the room, a smoking eruption of arcana that few can peer within.
  351.
  352. It's only when Heathen is abruptly thrown from the fray that a temporary victor comes forth.
  353.
  354. "No?
  355.
  356. Come, I asked you to deliver me. Child, what fear have I of paradise? What fear have I of death?
  357.
  358. Is it not you? Who should live in fear? For wickedness of deeds--"
  359.
  360. Osric clicks his tongue, catching his breath.
  361.
  362. "This is what I don't understand. Even the wickedness you've done so far--you are no occultist, child. You can still be redeemed.
  363.
  364. Your soul will not even rinse within the stars for too long. Is that why you do this?
  365.
  366. Is celestial penance too small for you?"
  367.
  368. Stepping forth through the ash and smoke, the Stellus continues.
  369.
  370. "...Do you truly believe you're doing the right thing with so much blood?
  371.
  372. Who harmed you, child?"
  373. (Osric Durai)
  374. ________________________________________
  375.
  376. [10:37] Osric retaliates to the Heathen's morbid assault with righteous fury, just as it had been expected. Although the Stellus was a man of the cloth, the enforcer was by no means expecting a rapid means of toppling the Celestial Church's figurehead.
  377.
  378. A spittle of dark, thick blood blurts outwards through his lips, staining a paving that had already long been sullied by the combats that took place.
  379.
  380. "This sliver of fight you have in you will not save you, sinner!"
  381.
  382. The attempts of the Stellus to reach him through words, however, are mostly disregarded, discarded without a second thought. He does not mull them, and simply retaliates with far more venom that had been distilled so far.
  383.
  384. "DO NOT PATRONIZE ME! DO YOU BELIEVE TO KNOW US?!" The Heathen slams the bladed hunk in his grasp against the ground multiple times, sundering a number of large, man-sized cracks at leisure.
  385.
  386. "The only way to cleansethis city is with blood! You blind yourself to the filth the people have been made to wallow in! Now SUFFER!"
  387. (Heathen)

  390. [10:38] Watching the battle with wide, unblinking eyes, Emily was just stunned in place against the wall as explosions of fire and holy mana concert across the air in waves, radiating in force to push all those that saw against the foundations. She didn't know what had happened to stir this pot, or why this was happening in the least, but it was enough to hold her breath tightly in her lungs.
  391.
  392. Unsure of where this was going, she had great hopes for her Stellus, but overwhelming fear for their life should something terrible happen to them. To attack within the Church was beyond bold, it was evil. Sacrilege, iconoclastic, and wrong. Spilling blood in the House of Worship that accepted all was a symbol of rebellion, to hate the Stars and all they were a Beacon for.
  393.
  394. Still, Hope lingered, her Stellus providing strength to everyone there as he combated further with the powers of his Holy Magic. An exemplar of their Faith, Chosen by the Star-Seer, they had to win.
  395.
  396. Clenching her fists, her breaths would come out in a gasp, uncertain of what good could come from all of this. Praying to the Stars, she hoped all would be well.
  397. (Emily Cherury)

  400. [10:39] ** Osric Durai has inflicted an injury upon Heathen. ("Temporary Injury", "Temporary Injury", "Temporary", "Duration: Medium (4 days)") **
  401.
  402. [10:42] Kuma couldn't believe he had forgotten that the musician was working on being a qualified medic. And the way she worded her words earlier, the boy was filled with a sense of hope she might be able to help with the injured noble. Once more the boy waited for an opportune time when the fight seemed to be ending before he called out the Melody beside him. "There's some space, lets go to the other side so you can check on the noble." He'd say as he waited for her reaction.
  403. (Paca Kuma)

  405.
  406. [10:42] The light has triumphed once again! Melody sang the victory fanfare once more, only to follow Paca along the circumference of the room. This was definitely a good time to act.
  407.
  408. "Yes, let's go. We don't know if someone else is about to show up."
  409. (Melody)

  411. [10:43] Words that fall on deaf ears.
  412.
  413. If that was the case for Heathen than him and Sigwald had that in common. Sigwald, lacking the proper education to understand and Heathen, holding onto his beliefs and doing what he thought was necessary. Quite the oustanding performance, the use of magic and what not...
  414.
  415. Sigwald's lings were fully expanded, finally he allowed himself to breathe normally. Osric had come on top, wielding it's holy aura. The Church would see peace once again. But Sigwald.. Didn't feel that this was the same he had once thought of. A place of rest, of free interactions.
  416.
  417. As most of the church stayed on the left our hero remained on his own. No matter the outcome he would jump over the railing and prepare himself to move away. He had plenty to think about.
  418. (Sigwald)

  420. [10:49] Ah -
  421.
  422. He won.
  423.
  424. The Stellus was … strong. He was shockingly strong. Though -- … Was it shocking, really … ? He was a high-ranking member of the Church. His connection to the Stars and the Light was … above and beyond, it was an almost overbearing light that was almost impossible to look at.
  425.
  426. Even though his life was on the line -- He spoke to his assailant as if he were hurt. Even if the Stellus, himself, could have died here ---
  427.
  428. --- He held his head high, still extending a hand outwards to the man who came here with the intentions to kill him.
  429.
  430. It was … outstanding, really.
  431.
  432. But ------ For now, with the worry for Osric's life quelled, she succumbs to the bursting, burning pain in her chest and allows her vision to black out and the world to fade away.
  433. (Estellise ven Astor)

  435.
  436. [10:51] "I do know you."
  437.
  438. Forward he comes, barriers erupting against the rapid-fire lashes of the fiery blades that seek to tear his head from his shoulders.
  439.
  440. Barriers that fray.
  441.
  442. Barriers that crack.
  443.
  444. Every strike upon the Stellus wears him down more and more. Until, one by one, the barriers break.
  445.
  446. Flames tear into cloth, wounds cauterizing in an instant under the infernal fury of the godless. But so too as the wounds develop upon him do they mirror across to the wicked agent.
  447.
  448. For the radiance of the Stellus is all-encompassing. To even encroach upon him is to be buffeted with blessed light. Light that, had the man been of the occult, may have very well seared him to death on the spot.
  449.
  450. Smoke fills the air...
  451.
  452. A final clash within the holy smoke, white with fury and black with anguish, shatters all of the barriers protecting the clergy.
  453.
  454. No longer could the High Priest continue to manifest them and fight.
  455.
  456. It was as if the Stellus had lost...
  457.
  458. ...but when the smoke clears were he the only one standing.
  459.
  460. Upon the ground, crumpled and seared, was Heathen.
  461.
  462. And within the hands of the High Priest, it's holy pages stretched before him, were the Codex Cosmos.
  463.
  464. "I do know you, child. I've seen all of this before.
  465.
  466. Wickedness comes to the innocent. Unprovoked. Unwarrented. Perhaps it is a knight, striking down a father for little reason. Perhaps it is a noble, striking at an urchin for their own fun.
  467.
  468. I know the wickedness you fight. I see it every day, child."
  469.
  470. The Codex glows, the Stellus' holy radiance focusing upon the pages as it swells with power, more and more and more. Something was coming, Heathen.
  471.
  472. "We give to try to prevent it. We educate to try to stop it. We forsake all noble claims. We forsake our land. We forsake our goods. We give. We give and we give andwe give. To try and equalize in a never-ending battle.
  473.
  474. Slowly, we make ground."
  475.
  476. It's holy energy, pure and righteous, that seems to square at the godless man as it prepares itself to launch.
  477.
  478. "You do not care.
  479.
  480. You see our robes and think nobility. But you do not care. It stopped being about the impoverished long ago.
  481.
  482. It's about revenge now. Every syndicate I see. I speak to. I aid.
  483.
  484. It's always about revenge.
  485.
  486. Be gone from my Chapel.
  487.
  488. Be gone from my grounds.
  489.
  490. Be gone from my City.
  491.
  492. We ill need a 'savior' such as yourself."
  493.
  494. With that, the beam launches! A righteous beam of energies that sent straight for the fallen Heathen!
  495.
  496. ...How was he going to get out of this one!?
  497. (Osric Durai)
  498. ________________________________________
  499. [10:57] Ignoring the fight despite the Stellus being initially being pushed back, the Acolyte's eyes travel toward the back of the Church.
  500.
  501. Giving his back to the battle, fully confidente that the holy barrier will be maintained, he runs towards the fallen Knight which had been knocked a fair distance away.
  502.
  503. Swiftly arriving at her side and crouching down beside her, he looks at the wound on her chest. Not waiting any further, he picks her up, and looks back to see the High Priest standing victorious over the Heathen.
  504.
  505. Making his way down the stairs and arriving at the Paca's side, he made sure to pay attention to what was being said, and would've witnessed the beam of energy dawning onto their faithless one.
  506.
  507. Such a sight causing him to pause momentarily before he would attempt taking the Knight upstairs to rest on a bed and be treated by a medic as soon as possible.
  508. (Rain Multhunder)
  509. ________________________________________
  510. [11:00] As the searing light of Osric's brilliance irradiates unto his flesh, the Heathen lets out an agonizing, horrifying scream. It echoes a cry of fury and rancid anguish, reflecting a torment that is both moral and physical. He lurches and twitches under the Stellus' luminous radiation.
  511.
  512. "NO! NO! I WILL NOT HAVE IT!"
  513.
  514. He grips the lower brim of Durai's robes, clenching a set of fire-clad digits upon it, creasing and scorching its ashen fabric. But that, too, is reflected back to him as his opponent's Light rebukes the harm inflicted time and time again.
  515.
  516. "YOU ENDORSE THE ORDER! YOU PROMOTE FALSTRICK'S IDEOLOGIES AS YOUR OWN! HOW DARE Y-" His bellow of rage is cut short as the purity of the Codex Cosmos discharges its blistering glow onto the enforcer's chest. Vomit and blood lurches from the abysmal blackness of the revenant's cowl.
  517.
  518. The day had started as his, but it seemed that, in his hubris, he had been summarily taken down by a far more rigid dogma than his raging wrath.
  519.
  520. With a final, waning cry, the Heathen yawps and roars much like a demon, whilst defending his assailed body from Osric's powerful onslaught with an expanding nova of shadow and flame.
  521.
  522. "YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE LAST OF ME!" The oath soars, before his form is made to disappear by the blasting potency that struck him down.
  523. (Heathen)
