A pastebin full of tutorials and advice, used as a reference guide for many things regarding Homestuck. Still very much in progress, could use more things for specific characters, as well as more tutorials and links overall, but it will all be updated as the threads continue. With Homestuck's immense cast of characters, there are many sections, though the majority of this will be dedicated to the kids and trolls. If more suggestions for other characters come in, their sections will be added. Please feel free to suggest more things and also give more personal experiences.

For things applicable to any Homestuck cosplay, as well as generally good sites to get stuff from or look at.
The blog http://homestuckcosplayhelp.tumblr.com is no longer active and there are links that may be outdated, but it still has a lot of helpful info, so look there too if you have to.

They have glasses for Dirk, the Libra Trolls, Vriska, Sollux, and much more, also has glasses for various anime characters. Prices will go for at least $30.00, apparently their glasses aren't quite so stable

They ahve glasses for Dirk, John/Jake, and Jade.  Dirk glasses are at least $25.00, the others are around $12.00. May have to paint the screws on the Dirk glasses black, as otherwise they stick out.

> Shirts and Merch
There are two official sites that sell tons of official Homestuck merch and clothes. A good amount of them will work just fine for cosplays. Some God Tier shirts aren't too good though, such as Breath and probably Hope. Also take note of the class, something like a Knight, Heir, or Prince could get away with using the shirts, but a Seer, Sylph, Witch, probably not.

So if you need a shirt, you can either look at the shirt tutorials below, or you can just buy one off of either site. Whatpumpkin has a greater selection, though some things are available on Topatoco as well. Whatpumpkin also sells plushies, such as the Scalemates and Consorts.

> Wig Suggestions:
Epic Cosplay and Arda have great, high quality wigs that will work nicely for any character, and are good sites to get wigs off of in general. They are a bit pricy, however. Arda is the better shop for short wigs and wigs that can hold styling better,  although Epic Cosplay is better for longer wigs as they're easier to detangle unlike Arda.

For cheaper alternatives, consider this: Several characters have short black hair, such as John, Jake, Sollux, Karkat, and so on. This one wig has often been suggested, and there are many listings for it. Just look up "Durarara Izaya Wig", and it should look like this:
