  1. My thoughts for an improvement on the current CS:GO system. By Matt AKA Protiny.
  2.
  3. [GAME OVERHAUL]
  4.
  5. First of all there should be 3 versions of CS:GO, which are as follows:
  6.
  7. - Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Free to Play Edition (CSGOF2P), which entails:
  8.
  9. - Basic CS:GO experience but without competitive. Casual 5v5 added but there is no visible ranking system.
  10.
  11. - No Overwatch cases for end-users to police. Solely policed by VACNet.
  12.
  13. - Is limited to queueing with people that are either CSGOF2P as well or that enabled queueing with them.
  14.
  15. - Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Elite Edition (CSGOE), which entails:
  16.
  17. - This is basically CS:GO Prime status renamed.
  18.
  19. - Has competitive 5v5 with skillgroups.
  20.
  21. - Has the ability to activate prime status.
  22.
  23. - Option to play on 128 Tick servers.
  24.
  25. - Default queueing with other CSGOE users but the option to queue with CSGOF2P.
  26.
  27. - Policed by Overwatch.
  28.
  29. - Will use Trust Factor.
  30.
  31. - Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Elite Prime Edition (CSGOEP), which entails:
  32.
  33. - This is basically CS:GO Elite but with the original Prime status reinstated.
  34.
  35. - Has competitive 5v5 with skillgroups.
  36.
  37. - Has the ability to activate prime status.
  38.
  39. - Option to play on 128 Tick servers.
  40.
  41. - Default queueing with other CSGOEP users but the option to queue with CSGOE & CSGOF2P.
  42.
  43. - Policed by Overwatch.
  44.
  45. - Option to use Trust Factor, Prime Matchmaking or a combined version.
  46.
  47. - Have to be playing for 1 month at least.
  48.
  49. - Have to have a telephone number linked to your account and only 1 number can be used per account.
  50.
  51. - Have to be at least level 21
  52.
  53. If these 3 versions of CS:GO would be in play then matchmaking would be more pleasant for everyone.
  54.
  55. On top of that there has to be a rework to both bans and to trust factor. We will touch on bans first.
  56.
  57. [BAN OVERHAUL]
  58.
  59. If you get Overwatch banned in this system then it would differ greatly from how it worked in the past.
  60.
  61. On top of that these shadow overwatch bans will result in the player only being queued with other shadowbanned players. This will not raise alarms to the banned player thus allowing Valve to ban more people using the cheat and thus banning more players since the cheat will less likely to be flagged as detected.
  62. On top of this system the regular VAC as well as the Overwatch Shadow ban itself should be more intrusive, the more intrusive the better.
  63. Bans should not just focus on accounts and or emails anymore but should factor in more stuff like:
  64.
  65. - Account (Standard)
  66.
  67. - Used E-Mail (Standard?)
  68.
  69. - Used Telephone Number (Standard?)
  70.
  71. - Hardware ID (HWID)
  72.
  73. - IP
  74.
  75. - MAC-Address
  76.
  77. - Motherboard ID
  78.
  79. - Windows Serial ID
  80.
  81. If all of these happen at the same time then it would lessen cheaters significantly since it's too much of a hassle to bypass all of these. If only a few or one of these happen then you give more people a better opportunity to bypass it. If all of these were in place only people really dedicated to cheating would continue to cheat as it would be a massive hassle to try and bypass all of these. This would get rid of a huge portion of cheaters who cheat with free software.
  82.
  83. Their should be an option to appeal to the ban as well if you think it's a fakeflag. This can be an automated system where you only have to click a button and a bot will match the trigger to a matching file database (kinda like how fakeflags in Antivirus software works). This would get rid of the excuse "I've been banned because I was using this software" since this can be now retroactively undone automatically. As well that it would give more transparancy on software that people use for other games like "Hialgoboost", "Razer software", "ENB" etc. Stuff that in the past was accused for resulting in bans.
  84.
  85. [OVERWATCH & REPORT OVERHAUL]
  86.
  87. A small overhaul to Overwatch to include a few extra options like:
  88.
  89. - A report option for Smurfing, which would result in a 20 hour cooldown (like you get after playing 2 games in the first 10) and you should get an immediate uprank.
  90.
  91. legit people that aren't smurfing also benefit from this as there would be no more "ELO Hell" whining.
  92.
  93. - A report option for Deranking, which would result in both an immediate uprank as well as a griefing ban.
  94.
  95. - A report option for Teaming, this could either mean a person playing with a cheater willingly and knowing that said person is cheating or the person helping the other team by either teamkilling, typing locations in chat, walking to the other teams spawn not intending to shoot them (with knife out etc.). Would result in a griefing ban.
  96.
  97. The overwatch watcher should be able to see what the person was reported for so that he can keep an eye on that or at least there should be a tag on the overwatch case labeling it either as "reported for cheated" or "reported for griefing". Since a lot of people only keep an eye out for cheating and thus let griefers off the hook.
  98.
  99. Other than that overwatch can remain the same with a griefing ban resulting in a cooldown of a couple of weeks/months or however long it exactly was and 3 griefing bans resulting in a permanent ban. And with griefing still entailing team damage, blocking etc. Also abusive voice and message should remain in there but it could be combined into one report option labeled "Harrassment" potentially.
  100.
  101. Also you should be able to go back to your played matches and retroactively either undo a report or file a report against someone. This would result in less people getting mass reported during a match simply because they are doing better or in the wrong person getting reported.
  102.
  103. [TRUST FACTOR OVERHAUL]
  104.
  105. A huge overhaul to the trust factor system since I feel like it's not working correctly now. Some of my improvements would be:
  106.
  107. - Reports against you should NOT count towards a negative trust factor, votes against you during overwatch should. 1 Vote would Equal negative trust rating.
  108.
  109. - Trust factor should not decay with time. Thus resulting in negative trust factor simply for not playing for a couple of weeks. (vacations/holidays/exams etc.)
  110.
  111. - Playing consecutive days should reward positive trust factor and playing consecutive days withount incident (reports against you) should boost it even further.
  112. Wouldn't matter which gamemode you played but the playtime (time on a non-local server) each session should reward you with positive trust factor.
  113.
  114. - There should be an indicator for trust factor on the homescreen, a bar going from red to green which indicates your trust factor and hovering over it should give tips
  115. on how you could improve it if it was in the red.
  116.
  117. ----------------------------------
  118.
  119. END, these are all the improvements I came up with and the things that I deemed "broken" in CS:GO's current state. Hope this can be shared around and be taken a look at by the devs potentially. Feedback would be greatly appreciated, negative (as long as it's constructive) as well as positive.
