  1. Name: Karasu Haruko
  2. Age: 16
  3. Gender: F
  4. Appearance: Haruko's "normal" form is actually the one she fights in; she transforms to blend in. In this mode, a deep crimson orb appears on her chest, with what appears to be a black eye pattern inlaid; this glows faintly, and gets brighter as the nuclear reactions contained within her body become faster and stronger. Two raven-like wings spread out from her back, with a span about two feet wider than that of her arms when outstretched. A cape is draped over them; the outer portion of it is a simple white, but the inner part acts as a sort of window to the stars, peering out into the infinite void of space from some unknown angle. A heavy piece of armor is also present on her right foot; the left has a mote of glowing energy orbiting it at all times. She wears a white blouse with black trim running along the placket, and ragged green trim along that; the shirt parts around the gem. The blouse's collar has a bit of frill in a matching green. Haruko wears a knee-length skirt of the same green, with two rings of white triangles spaced evenly from the top and bottom. Her eyes glow a somewhat sinister fiery red mirroring the brightness of the gem in her chest. Her wavy hair falls to her waist, a red-tinged black tone.

  6. When transformed, her cape and wings vanish; she's gotten the gem small enough to be concealed by a high-cut shirt, but she can't seem to actually make it go away entirely. She's a bit shorter than average - at least right now. It seems she's a late bloomer, because she's been growing quite a bit lately. Her eyes and hair revert to rather more mundane shades of brown. She's still noticeably warm to the touch, though, and is literally hot-tempered, with her temperature rising with strong emotions.
  7.
  8. Personality: Haruko seems nice enough, if occasionally dense enough that you would think her power source was a brain made of plutonium. She does, however, have a tendency to get carried away with things.
  9.
  10. Background: Haruko was once a simple, but quite poor girl, living on the streets of a small town a few miles from the border of the Special Administrative District. Her parents were lost long ago; she claims not to remember how. She often had to resort to scavenging food to survive; something that would end up changing her life forever. Wandering in the woods near town one morning, she ran across a strange bird: seemingly a normal crow, save for the fact that the thing had three legs, and was strangely warm to the touch. The girl hadn't eaten in days, and the crow was wounded, its wings broken in some sort of altercation. She quickly put it out of its misery, and cooked it up as a meal for herself.
  11.
  12. As she consumed the flesh of the fallen bird, she felt a warmth start to well within her. A warmth that she ignored, at first, until it grew, becoming hotter and hotter until it was impossible to ignore. The heat surged within her, growing and growing until it was unbearable; she passed out from the pain, slumping against a tree. When she awoke, Haruko found that the heat within her, while just as intense, caused her no pain; in fact, it felt like it was the most natural thing in the world. Her limbs brimmed with strength that they hadn't felt in months - including the two new ones, wings that sprouted from her back. The most shocking change, though, was the power that flowed from her hands as easily as breathing (though a small amount of hapless woodland life suffered for this.)
  13.
  14. It wasn't too long before she discovered something; her power absolutely yearned to be used. She had only had it for a week or two when the hypnotic feeling of releasing it took over while she was trying it out. Haruko began to set nearly everything nearby aflame, threatening to burn down the entire forest and the town she lived in with it - and who knew where it would stop after that? Fortunately for the residents, she didn't get very far - by a stroke of luck, Kamen Rider Volt had already been tracking her down, believing her to be the corvid Zoanthrope she had been hunting. Though she was powerful, her inexperience and clumsiness meant she fell relatively quickly to the armored hero.
  15.
  16. Haruko held no grudge, though; she simply apologized for getting carried away, and ended up tagging along with the hero - a certain Maki Kisaragi - as a way of keeping her out of trouble, and trying to make up for the inconvenience she'd caused by attempting to begin a one-man (or in this case, crow-girl) nuclear armageddon. After clarifying that she wasn't the Zoanthrope Maki was looking for, anyway; if there was any doubt in that, it was cleared up when Haruko helped the other girl hunt the thing down. She's been more or less following Maki around since then, helping the Rider out while the latter knocks her over the head whenever she decides that setting everything on fire is an excellent plan.

  18. Advantage: Criticality: All of Haruko's normal attacks boost her Criticality. The higher her Criticality is, the higher all of her stats are, but the more self-inflicted damage she takes per turn. The higher her Criticality is, the faster it ramps up. Her Criticality can go below baseline, debuffing her stats - this will not heal her.
  19.
  20. Stats:
  21.
  22. Melee: 2. Haruko isn't trained in combat at all and doesn't particularly appear to have some sort of natural aptitude for it. Her primary strength is just that - while her punches might be poorly formed and inaccurate, she hits several weight classes above what she appears to be capable of.
  23. Ranged: 10. While Haruko is neither particularly skillful nor particularly efficient or even anything that could be considered "good" at using her powers, they still amount to unloading the raw power of the sun at opponents. Her ranged bombardment consists of massive waves of plasma, bursts of orbs of the same, or focused beams. They may or may not inflict radiation poisoning, though thankfully they don't seem to leave the area particularly irradiated afterward.
  24. Mobility: 1. While her wings are functional, as she is not actually a bird, she doesn't know how to use them. Furthermore, they're somewhat awkward on the ground. She can sort of glide, though?
  25. Defense: 1. Barring how difficult she is to damage at high criticality, she doesn't have any particular ways to soak hits - in fact, she's a rather large target.
  26. Super: None here for the time being.
  27.
  28. Skills:
  29.
  30. Shooting Star [4]: Haruko rockets into the air at a somewhat unpredictable angle, wings outstretched. This has the side effect of saturating the air above and below her with fire. She doesn't seem to particularly realize that this is an attack and not just movement. Also acts as a great cooling maneuver, lowering her criticality by a moderate amount.
  31. Retro Atomic Model [3]: Creates a pair of orbs that orbit Haruko, mostly serving to intercept the odd incoming attack and make melee approach more difficult. Consumes a small amount of criticality as she splits off some of the reactions going on within her.
  32. Supernova [6]: Dumps almost all of the energy contained within Haruko into her nearby environment. This is generally not a positive thing for anything within said environment. Or the environment itself. Drops her far below baseline criticality, and inflicts additional damage proportional to the criticality consumed.
  33.
  34. Nuclear Force (Passive): All of Haruko's attacks strike with enhanced force, potentially disrupting enemy motions or knocking them into other portions of her assault, allowing her to more easily land successive hits.
  35. Supers: None yet.
