- Mark says:
- just got to work
- what are you up to
- Daniel says:
- falling asleep
- Mark says:
- awww
- Daniel says:
- lol
- Mark says:
- going to bed soon then i take it?
- Daniel says:
- soonish
- Mark says:
- alright
- Daniel says:
- did u get my msg?
- Mark says:
- i dont think so
- how did you send it?
- oh if it was on msn its probally sitting on my computer at home
- Daniel says:
- hey
- how did u decide on nov 16? lol
- anyway, if you want i'll happily get involved in the music closer to release, when every level and concept is set in stone and i can play thru most of the levels
- Mark says:
- we decided on nov 16th because retail NSMBW came out nov 15th 2009
- Daniel says:
- good point
- Mark says:
- about the levels
- thats fine with me, might even work for the best
- just a note the levels is the area which we are most complete in, by far
- Daniel says:
- i get that, but still, i want to work on it when i know it's heading towards release
- mid-may is way too early
- Mark says:
- now there are a number of levels remaining (approx ~35-40), but as we finish hacks and things required for these levels they are quickly being knocked off the list
- yeah fair enough, i was just trying to give you a heads up
- Daniel says:
- thx
- Mark says:
- if you like, one we finish the levels then you can step in
- as the more music we have the better, and the more time treeki gets to code it in and make his magic happen the better
- Daniel says:
- that be cool
- Mark says:
- so curious, lets say we solidify all our world one levels, while we are working on solidifying world 2 would you start writing music for world 1
- which is pretty much 99% set in stone at the moment
- Daniel says:
- no, i'd rather leave it till september or something
- as ive always said to u, i can output pretty quickly
- and edit and improve if need be quickly too
- Mark says:
- fair enough, we just want to ensure we have the songs in place for testing as we want to test the game in its intirety quick vigeriously
- Daniel says:
- eh, i dont see why u cant use placeholder music for that
- Mark says:
- cuz then its not testing the game in its entirety
- Daniel says:
- ur gonna have all worlds and entire game entirely complete months before november?
- if so, fine, ill work to meet whatever date that level of completion is
- Mark says:
- well no, im saying around that time when we start wrapping up everything
- Daniel says:
- ok, but i dont want to work on completing each world one at a time
- inspiration doesnt work well like that
- and i want to get a full idea of the overall picture
- and musical progression etc
- Mark says:
- alright, but by sept we should have all the levels done long ago
- maybe (hopefully) even world maps
- which i should show you a picture of btw
- Daniel says:
- ok well when ALL levels are close to being done, ill re-enter the music team
- let me know when that is
- Mark says:
- ok, sounds like a plan
- Daniel says:
- keep this a surprise ok?
- Mark says:
- humm well
- Daniel says:
- if ppl arent expecting any new music from me, i might feel more inclined to try and shock with some awesome stuff ppl didnt see coming
- Mark says:
- had quite the discussion with the team yesterday about the posibility of your return
- Daniel says:
- oh i mean the public
- Mark says:
- ohh
- yeah no sweat they wont hear a thing
- Daniel says:
- i like the maple treeway recreation
- Mark says:
- yeah i thought that was catchy too
- Daniel says:
- tho it's so good at recreating the sound of maple treeway it could do with a bit more NSMBWishness
- Daniel says:
- but we'll talk later about whether i should lead the music team towards the end
- Mark says:
- thats fine
- Daniel says:
- try and help get the music to a consistent level
- Mark says:
- should be more of a team discussion anyways
