  1. You gaze upon Kairie Haiku in deep reflection.
  2. Kairie Haiku: Boo!
  3. You look at Kairie Haiku in surprise.
  4. N'het Tia: 'Oy!
  5. N'het Tia lowers his ears in annoyance, gazing wide-eyed at the stanger who had spooked him.
  6. Kairie Haiku: Oi is right!
  7. Kairie Haiku: Eeesh, have I upset you?
  8. N'het Tia: "Wha's th' point o' tha'?" He demands.
  9. You disagree with Kairie Haiku.
  10. N'het Tia: "Naw, ye'd 'ave ta do more ta upset me.
  11. Kairie Haiku folds her arms and squints, "No sense of humor? C'mon now, it's all in good fun." the Doman teased.
  12. Krystlona Eyrigeim continued up the stairs, her long legs letting her take them two at a time. The Auri was extremely light in her arms, almost certain she could carry the other with just one arm. Yet one arm was beneath the other's knees, and the other cradled her neck and head. She smirked the entire time, mischievous or not; a poke on her cheek caused her to look down at the woman in her arms, curious, though still with mischief, "Ye havin' fun, lass?"
  13. N'het Tia holds his hands up in surrender. "Ai've got a sens o' humor!" The miqo'te says, a smile on his lips. "Ye got me!"
  14. Kamino Atasuke pushed off the post and spun to walk towards the counter. He wan't quite interested in anyone around him, keeping to himself quite eagerly. The tall man just leaned upon it, "Gin, whiskey, I don't care something strong...." he said quietly to the tender, reaching into a pouch at his waist and then carefully placing a few gil before her. He would wait till the lala brought one of the two then curl a hand about it and snatch it up. He pretty much slurped it down, all of it, the whole >
  15. Stephano Samwell: "You haven't tried hard enough, but then again, many who flee to the other side, often themselves in a moment of despair where any quick answer will be sufficient. However, your rank does broker a degree, but whomever you bartered with, has robbed you blind. However, it could be down to timing."
  16. You smile at Kairie Haiku.
  17. Kairie Haiku clicks her tongue against the roof of her mouth as she extended a hand outwards. Fingers curled inwards into a fist yet her thumb shot upright; it was a gesture she had learned during her time in these lands. "Good, good! I didn't want to believe this tarven was lame!" a term she had, no doubt, also picked up.
  18. Stephano Samwell: "The flames are the more lenient choice of the matter, they've been softening up to the Garlean refugees, more so than they had years ago."
  19. Kamino Atasuke glass, then cleared his throat rather hard. Who clears a whole glass of liquor all at once because ick. He shook it once more at Momodi, signalling for a refill. This wasn't so bad all of a sudden, didn't seem to be anyone else here anyways.
  20. N'het Tia: "Ye could'a jus' said 'ello by walkin' up ta me, though," N'het continued, gazing down at the woman's hand before mirroring the movement back at her.
  21. Stephano Samwell: "Thus, I can clearly say, you can have a longer leash, even citizenship here. But you simply lack he sponsorship or the endorsement from individuals who see more of the bigger picture."
  22. N'het Tia: "Are ye new ta Ul'dah?" He asked, tilting his head to the side.
  23. Kairie Haiku cocks her head as she evaluated his request, "Does that not seem a little ... boring to you? Life is all about excitement, is it not?"
  24. Kairie Haiku: I am, yes. That easy to tell, hrm?
  25. You laugh at Kairie Haiku.
  26. Stephano Samwell: "Tis really no different wherever you go, citizenship here is merely a mark to show your transition. But if you wish, Ishgardian citizenship. I might be able to help you there."
  27. N'het Tia: "Aye, it's not 'ard ta meet a traveller," N'het said after he chuckled. "Adventurin's fun 'n all, too, but... I like it ou'side."
  28.
  29. Kairie Haiku: We are of similar idealisms, in that regard. I myself despite being cooped up somewhere; rather be out and enjoying the fresh air and meeting new people -stabbing-them-in-the-kidneys-perhaps.
  30. Stephano Samwell: "Of course, it is understandable, but I can still offer you help on the matter. After all, Ul'Dah is one based on coin, however, there is a divide in terms of how the political system works. The Flames is your best bet, since if you enlist yourself into service as a Flame, possibly engineer. Then you can garner yourself a position in the city, and a place without question."
  31. Kairie Haiku spoke the latter quickly and with a beaming smile on her face.
  32. Kairie Haiku: despise* ))
  33. Stephano Samwell: "Very much like how the story of Garlond Ironworks plays out, it is merely a choice of what you do with your abilities and skills and whom you do it for. A purpose, a cause and one that allows you to further your place. As they say, climb the ladder."
  34. Kamino Atasuke stared into his next glass of whiskey it looked like, swishing it about. He felt the nerves beginning to settle, there was a first for everything and his trip to this utterly odd place had been uneventfull, perhaps it wasn't so bad after all. He turned upon his heel and made his way back to the railing, steps quick and purposeful.
  35. N'het Tia began to nod, agreeing fully with what the stranger was saying. He froze, however, when she spoke of stabbing people. He looked her over for a moment, nibbling his bottom lip. Oh, right. Taverns could bring in all sorts of folk.
  36. N'het Tia: "I, uh..." He began, shaking his head. "Yer righ'," the young man said with a chuckle.
  37. Stephano Samwell: "Adapt, learn and move forward. If your rank has been earned in Garlemlad through the process, then the simple mater of Eorzeans forges can't do the job. Make forges that can do the job then."
  38. N'het Tia: "Jus', uh... Don' go 'round stabbin' me?"
  39. Kairie Haiku carried on as she glanced around the near empty tavern; gray eyes always alert and attentive. "So, what kind of place is this?" her common broken at times, but always understandable. "This is my first night in these lands and I have already learned so much. What else can I learn that you can teach me, strange thing with ears of a feline."
  40. Stephano Samwell: "Then you need a friend with connections, ones that can help you in this push towards your life here. That is what the case seems to me. Indeed, vultures will come. But no-one is entirely helpless to fend them off."
  41. Kamino Atasuke leaned forwards, trying to just relax and listen to the conersations around himself, stabbing he heard from the Tia, stabbing was fun, but he remained passive, golden eyes strafing about with careful curiousity, cutting was fun too. He sipped his drink, slow now, it was.....something that brough calm, the liquor, something that brought more of an easy and sanguine flow to him. He smiled, pretty lips curling into a devilish bit of a smirk.
  42. Stephano Samwell: "I understood your metaphor, and if you are facing scavengers, then fight for your pile. After all, if you know how to fight, then scavengers shouldn't be a problem."
  43. N'het Tia nodded, his ears perking when he realized that he would be able to help a foreigner. Unfortunately, he barely knew anything about Ul'dah to begin with.... "'Ell, first thin's first," he began. "I'm a Miqo'te," N'het explained, then gestured to the tavern. "If yer an adventurer, ye can 'lways go ta taverns ta get work!" He pointed to Momodi, the small lalafell. "She's tha owner, and can 'elp ye around better th'n I can," he said, his ears flattening almost in shame that he couldn't be of (c)
  44. Stephano Samwell: "And you have trouble procuring these, because, they seek to hike the price before you, yes? Or is it, because they know you're in no position to bargain due to your blood?"
  45. N'het Tia: more help to this unnamed woman. "Ye can also talk ta th' others," he quickly added.
  46. N'het Tia: "'M not ex'ctly from 'ere, either."
  47. Kairie Haiku shifted; something made her look over her shoulder. She didn't know exactly what she was looking for, or at, but she scanned with intent. Her eyes squinted but she finally drew them back to the Miqo'te standing in front of her. Had she known the thoughts of the other, she'd agree instantly. The feel of slicing skin, of seeing the blood boil and bubble out from open wounds... it was something she relished in. It was her ecstasy; her high. Eyes gazed over the boy in front of her -
  48. Kairie Haiku - almost in a predatory manner and she smirked a half grin, "You are very helpful to a woman that you do not know. Very kind to strangers."
  49.
  50. Kamino Atasuke slowly, his tongue curled out to clear his lips of the excess liquor, it wasn't something he was unused to, the taste of it upon himself. He seemed very cordial, very much approachable as he leaned upon the rail all by his lonesome. He swirled the amber liquor once again, those aureate eyes of his dragging down into it so that he may watch the ebb and flow as it circles the clear sides of a stoic prison. For a second he might have empathized with it. Blood, that was indeed a thought, it >
  51. Stephano Samwell: "Your company, can't seem to help you on the matter. Since, it seems if you are in this position. They aren't in the best of standings with the city here, if they can't get you a pardon or at least better sources of the materials you need. Especially, since Kugane is the best port for purchasing airship parts and materials. After all, the Empire is opnly trading their materials to the tradelords of Kugane."
  52. N'het Tia blushed at that statement, looking away. "Aw, yer jus' flatterin' me," he said, the compliment having caught him off guard to the point where he hadn't noticed the look in the stranger's eyes.
  53. Stephano Samwell: "But as I said, you need friends with connections, in order to acheive what you wish."
  54. You beam with delight at Kairie Haiku.
  55. Kamino Atasuke was blood that brought him here, even through that first bit of feigned nervousness. One casts a line out into the water, sometimes one gets a bite, somtimes not. There were more predators out then anyone could imagine this eve. He looked to his left, perahps almost as if to catch any unseen eyes upon himself, a knowing bit of a challenge, how quick can one kill?
  56. Stephano Samwell: "You'd have to be blind and deaf, not to be able to see that. There is always a dark side to even the most peaceful of cities and their people. However, it maintains its peaceful outlook, to ensure that trade is encouraged there. After all, tradesmen get nervous and will bolt at the hint of trouble."
  57. Stephano Samwell: "Now, the fact of the matter, that you require materials, yet you lower yourself to scavenging, speaks to me. That your company doesn't have the connections to Kugane, or they don't have the specific connection to the Airship trade there. Which I do not blame them, since only savvy tradesmen have ever receive such an access."
  58. Stephano Samwell: "When there is a divide amongst the ideals of the people, there will always be civil war brewing. It is the nature of the beast. Even the Eorzean Alliance will one day, be broiled in civil war. It is only a question of when."
  59. N'het Tia: ((woops OTL))
  60. Kairie Haiku steps forward with a careful hand outstretched, “Flattering? Perhaps.” she spoke as she giggled. “Please explain your ears to me. Are you house pets? --I ate cats back home..." her demeanor had changed almost as if she was trying to impress, though she herself didn't fully know who or why. She laughed at the 'joke' of eating cats, not trying to frighten her new 'friend'. "I joke, of course! We'd never!" She tried to reach out and pet one of the ears the boy had on his head, though -
  61. Kairie Haiku - inside she wondered what it would be like to cut them off. Did they function as normal Hyur ears? Would he still be able to hear? It wasn't so much the use of them that she got excited in discovering, or the dissection of the boy that desired; it was always in the kill. She needed to be close to a person; to watch the light leave their eyes. She found pleasure in watching another person die. Slowly. In all of this, Kai was still a rather good actress; she was able to have her -
  62. Kairie Haiku - thoughts while outwardly, she appeared very normal.
  63. Kamino Atasuke continued to lean over the raling, those eyes of his oh those eyes, they were absolutely doll-like, shimmering gold, like precious metals. By now he had dropped the charade fully, nervous boy never really got a fish, but it was fun to play. He could hear them, the two close to him, they sounded like a vetry cute pair, how ripe for the plucking. No one would know that habbit though, what the darkness inside him could bring. It was easy to simply revel in the thought of seperating skin >
  64. N'het Tia: "'Ouse cats?!" N'het spoke loudly, his mismatched eyes glittering as he grinned. The cat was quickly thrown aback when the woman spoke of eating cats, though truth be told, he couldn't blame her. "'Ells, if yer 'ungry 'nough, ye coul' eat jus' 'bout anythin'," he said sympathetically. The young thief had no reason to distrust this Hyur woman, and when she reached out to try and pet him, the young Miqo'te bowed only just for her to reach his golden-furred ears.
  65. N'het Tia: "'Ere, is that easier?"
  66. N'het Tia: ((oops, sorry kamino! ill try not to interrupt again!))
  67. Kamino Atasuke from bone, muscle from viscera. Was the cat man thinking of sex? No the woman was thinking of more, it was something in her voice. Was she a target or a swan? He just didn't know yet. The drink was lifted again, it made the world easier, made him better able to control the thing he had supressed. ((N'het you are absolutely a gem, no worries I am just plopping my emotes out, it's all good))
  68. Vinea Fairclough has out ink, pen and leather-bound journal, turned to a blank page where she might write the things she hears. All around her echo voices throughout the tavern, and it is with hungry ears that she listens and learns, marking little symbols and telling drawings next to words she might not understand. But she is here to listen, to stories and to rumors alike, and she sits in quiet content.
  69. Kairie Haiku stilled her breath the second he leaned in; she felt her skin prickle and her blood pumped as adrenaline rushed like rivers through her. He was willing, easy to mold, she didn't even have to use seduction to get what she wanted. Gloved fingers lazily rolled against the fur and flesh of his ear and the top of his head; her thoughts raced. How easily could she lure him away? She spoke again, and this time, for a moment, her voice quivered, "Perhaps you could lead this silly thing on -
  70. Kairie Haiku - a tour of the city," somewhere quiet, "I've gotten lost a number of times already." she concluded with her best laugh. She drew her hand back, hanging it this time at her side; her thumb brushed over a small 'tool kit' hidden under her leathers. "We could always explore together, since you did mention how new you were as well." she looked absolutely hopeful; tone layered with hidden meanings.
  71. N'het Tia blinked in mild surprise when the young woman asked for a tour of the city. He was positively flabbergasted that despite his lack of knowledge of Ul'dah the young man had managed to find a friend in such a short time of visiting. He took a moment, thinking. Was there a catch to this? Did she think he was interested in her? His gaze lowered to the ground, but N'het had already made up his mind the moment the question was voiced. "Ye know..." He said slowly, pretending to think and ponder the-
  72. You gaze upon Kairie Haiku in deep reflection.
  73. N'het Tia: request. He dragged it out for a few moment, with a grin on his face. "Aw, who'm I kiddin'?" He laughed. "O' course, I'd be 'appy ta lead ya 'round!"
  74. You beam with delight at Kairie Haiku.
  75. N'het Tia: "We'll get lost together, savvy?"
  76. Kamino Atasuke slowly, with a calculatedly smooth motion, lifted his drink to his lips again, those eyes of his, those liquid golden hues simply staring off into the emptyness of an unoccupied table with their intensity. He didn't look again, not in the slightest bit, he could hear the Miqo'te male, his voice quite suave upon the current of the air. He could hear Kairie too, her own an undercurrent of rapt aggrission. Not a lot of people would have understood but Kam did, especially after what he had >
  77. Kamino Atasuke taken upon himself, Kam indeed understood how to be a beast. He clicked his fingers upon the rail before him, the black gauntlets he wore tap tap tapping with a very premeditated hum. His gin was gone alreay, why was the gin always gone? He fluttered those molten eyes, another pass of his tongue about his lips.
