  1. Research Log: Life as a Professor
  2.
  3. Due to the amount of time that I've been staying here in Valkha, I've taken it upon myself to request being stationed here for the time being. Thanks to the research grants that I've managed to gather together, and the recommendations from my colleagues, I have gained access to a lab. Although, this has come with certain requirements to be met for continual employment. I'm in charge of giving out Pokemon to new trainers entering the area. This has halted some progress as I must split my time between the lab and my field work. Not really something I would have wanted, but I guess this is just something that must be done.

  5. It has afforded me some time to research the starters of this region. The three starters are the Fire Kit Pokemon, Glorkit. The Hatchling Pokemon, Regnet. Finally, the Calf Pokemon, Kvistcalf.
  6.
  7. Glorkit is a remarkably spirited and active Pokemon, light tawny fur and black markings all over its body. It loves to play, and it often sulks when ignored for any period of time. When agitated it's black markings glow like burning embers, it tends to stoke its internal flames before lashing out with its paws, flames billow out from them to both sear and slice their target. Aside from this, it is a very friendly companion that I think suits an energetic trainer who can keep up with its desire to play.
  8.
  9. Regnet on contrast is a very quiet and timid Pokemon, it keeps to its trainer and follows after them without question. It has white soft feathers on its body, light blue feathers on its wings and black feet. It seems to attract dew to condense on its body, leaving it always damp in humid areas. In battle, it tends to draw in more moisture to itself, causing its feathers to react to the water accumulating on them by creating a mirror like effect. It is strange just how fast they can use this to turn invisible, they then draw the moisture towards the ends of their wings and fling it at their enemy in the form of dense waves of water.
  10.
  11. Kvistcalf prefers to explore, it has a deep brown hide with small horns on its head that are covered in small budding leaves. It produces a sweet aroma of grass, and it tends to run around happily in large open areas. Their attitude is much more easygoing compared to Glorkit, but they do have the bad habit of running into things or getting into trouble. Fortunately, they are very resilient creatures, and in battle they can use their hard heads to slam into foes. The leaves on their horns seem to react to their mood, and as much as they use their headbutts to harm their foes, they will also headbutt or bunt their own trainer. This is less aggressive, and more affectionate or demanding at times. Like trying to push their trainer to move or do something.
  12.
  13. These three are amazing for starting trainers, but we come to a slight annoyance. I've had more trainers show up for a Shroomish rather than these starters. This is because of a certain trainer who has become a major celebrity in the region. The effect of this has been a large boom of popularity for Shroomish and Breloom. Not to say that trainers don't appear every now and then to take the others, but I've tried to keep the starters company and give them attention while they wait for a trainer.
