I really appreciate the offer, but I think this is something that I gotta buy on my own. I've made some big monetary mistakes in the past which have led me to being in the situation that I'm in now (such as buying a shitty car that needed like 10K repairs, and now I want airbags). I feel like by getting something as a gift, I'd be getting a buffer which wasn't earned, causing me to not learn from my past mistakes. Like, I could have saved up for a new phone after it broke a couple months back, but instead I bought a bunch of music albums like an idiot. Getting a second job in order to afford paying for the car I total'd and these electronics (on top of saving up for college) would be a good lesson for me.
