  1. Kairi looked up from Gepetto's wooden ship, trying to find the source of the scream. When she found it, she couldn't believe her eyes.
  2. It was Sora, holding Pinnochio by his thin, wooden arm.
  3. "Pinnochio!" Gepetto cried out, pushing aside Goofy and Donald, catching the both of them off balance. "Please! That's my son!"
  4. "Sora!" Kairi called out. "What are you doing?"
  5. He pulled Pinocchio up by his arm, the puppet still struggling. "I'm doing the thing a friend would do."
  6. "You're not! You're just acting like...a bully!" She spat out, furiously.
  7. "A bully? I'm trying to save Riku!" He pouted. "You're off with your new friends, so who else's gonna do it?"
  8. "He's just a boy!" Gepetto fell to the ground, pleading. "Please, what do you want?"
  9. "You're right, old man. He has the heart and everything. I'm just borrowing him - so he can help someone who's lost theirs."
  10. Kairi grimaced, then stomped her foot on the ground. "You idiot! I'm trying to save him too, but you're just...you're using the darkness, aren't you?"
  11. Sora put an arm over the struggling Pinocchio's mouth. "There isn't another way, Kairi."
  12. "Gosh, I'm sure there's a lotta ways to save your friend," Goofy scratched his head, looking between the three of them. "Ain't this the wrong way, though?"
  13. "It's not! I'm doing what's right. C'mon, Kairi. Come with me and we can work together." He gave an honest smile.
  14. Kairi looked up at him, and how he was handling Pinocchi. A surge of emotion came over her face, and she had to keep back tears. This wasn't her friend anymore.
  15. "I'm not going to help you. I don't know...I don't know what happened to you. But you're not going to get Riku back like that!"
  16. Sora's face soured, glaring at Kairi, Donald and Goofy before climbing towards Monstro's throat. "Just like always. You have fun, I get to do all the work."
