- Kairi looked up from Gepetto's wooden ship, trying to find the source of the scream. When she found it, she couldn't believe her eyes.
- It was Sora, holding Pinnochio by his thin, wooden arm.
- "Pinnochio!" Gepetto cried out, pushing aside Goofy and Donald, catching the both of them off balance. "Please! That's my son!"
- "Sora!" Kairi called out. "What are you doing?"
- He pulled Pinocchio up by his arm, the puppet still struggling. "I'm doing the thing a friend would do."
- "You're not! You're just acting like...a bully!" She spat out, furiously.
- "A bully? I'm trying to save Riku!" He pouted. "You're off with your new friends, so who else's gonna do it?"
- "He's just a boy!" Gepetto fell to the ground, pleading. "Please, what do you want?"
- "You're right, old man. He has the heart and everything. I'm just borrowing him - so he can help someone who's lost theirs."
- Kairi grimaced, then stomped her foot on the ground. "You idiot! I'm trying to save him too, but you're just...you're using the darkness, aren't you?"
- Sora put an arm over the struggling Pinocchio's mouth. "There isn't another way, Kairi."
- "Gosh, I'm sure there's a lotta ways to save your friend," Goofy scratched his head, looking between the three of them. "Ain't this the wrong way, though?"
- "It's not! I'm doing what's right. C'mon, Kairi. Come with me and we can work together." He gave an honest smile.
- Kairi looked up at him, and how he was handling Pinocchi. A surge of emotion came over her face, and she had to keep back tears. This wasn't her friend anymore.
- "I'm not going to help you. I don't know...I don't know what happened to you. But you're not going to get Riku back like that!"
- Sora's face soured, glaring at Kairi, Donald and Goofy before climbing towards Monstro's throat. "Just like always. You have fun, I get to do all the work."
