F4F Neko Adoption part 1

[speaker walks up to front desk]
Hey, I was looking to adopt a neko.

No, no, not a kitten, bit too much for me to be honest. I was wondering if you had any older nekos, maybe one that has been in the shelter for a long time?

Oh, she's "feisty"? *laughs* That's okay, I'm sure I'll warm up to her. 3rd door on the right? Okay, I'll let you know how it goes!

*door opens* Hey! Woah, it's okay, it's okay. I'll stay right by the door. *door closes* I won't get any closer if you don't want me to, okay? I just want to spend some time with you, is all. If you don't want to talk, that's fine, just, give me a chance. Please?

No, I'm not looking for a kitten, they have a bit too much energy for me, you know? They need a *little* more attention than I can give at the moment. I'm looking for someone a bit older, [probing a bit] maybe one that needs some love and affection?

So, what's your story? Don't typically see many nekos not happy to cozy up with humans, and if they aren't there's usually a *really* unfortunate reason behind it.

Haven't found anyone you liked? Eh, that's fair. There's not a lot of people I like, either. [happily, as if to try to warm up listener] But, hopefully, you'll find I'm different!

Well, uhm... Why are you rooming by yourself, then? If not humans, surely there's another animal-person here you'd like to share your time with. Maybe a cute neko boy? Or girl. Whichever.

You took care of some kittens once, but never again? Aww, but ~why~? I'm sure they *loved* you; I bet you made a *great* mother.

*laughs* He did *what*?

[trying to not laugh but failing] No! I'm... *snerk* I'm sure that's *awful*.

*Yes* that's funny! It's cute! A neko-kit thought your tail would be fun to play with! Chasing it around, pawing at it. Granted, biting is a little much, but I'm sure it was only a playful bite!

Well, I guess it *would* get annoying after a while, kits don't really listen well, do they? But, who could resist such a pretty neko like you?

Aw, did I see you blush?

Oh, yes you are *very* pretty; absolutely gorgeous fur.

*laughs* That sure was a personality change. Haven't had someone compliment you like that in while, huh? So sweet.

Oh? Finally willing to get closer? Now, what is it that you want, hmm? Perhaps some scritchies? Some headpats? Perhaps a little cheek rub?

[incredulous] Oh, "No"?  You just want to get a closer look at me... Sureeee, I believe you. Well, I have nothing to hide. Do whatever makes you feel more comfortable.

[listener sniffs your outstretched hand]

See? I don't smell like ~~ev~~illll~~, do I?

[Listener starts nuzzling your hand, begging for pets]

Aw, are you nuzzling me, now? Come ~on~. [sing song] If you want something you have to ~ask~ for it.

[small pause]

That's a good girl.

*scritching sounds* [listener lays head down in your lap]

Yea, I knew you just wanted some scritchies. I saw how fast your ears perked up when I mentioned it.

*more scritching sounds* [improv some stuff here if you want to]

Who's a good girl? It's you! Yes, you are! You're *such* a go~od girl!

Awh, are you purring already? I knew underneath your tough attitude was a soft, sweet, affectionate lil' neko who wanted nothing more than to snuggle up and get pets.

Mmh, such a sweet girl.

Shhh, shh. It's okay to ask for affection, you know. I'm more than happy to give such a pretty girl like you some lovin' if she asked for it. Although I'll admit, it was pretty cute how *hard* you tried to deny wanting to cuddle up with me.

So, I'm guessing that means I'm one of the humans you like?

Aw, I like you, too! Certainly have a cute personality. Uhm, does that mean you'd like to come home with me?

[excited] Really? I'm so glad to hear it. I'll go let the staff know I'd like to adopt you. I'll be back as *soon* as I can, okay? I won't be leaving without you. See you in a bit sweetheart!
