  26. WORSHIPPING GOD
  27.
  28. John 4: (1-18) 19-24
  29. 1 When therefore the Lord knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John, 2 (Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,) 3 He left Judaea, and departed again into Galilee. 4 And he must needs go through Samaria. 5 Then cometh he to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.
  30.
  31. 6 Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour. 7 There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink. 8 (For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.) 9 Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans. 10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. 11 The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water? 12 Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?
  32.
  33. 13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: 14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. 15 The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw. 16 Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither. 17 The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband: 18 For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.
  34. —————
  35. 19 The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.
  36. 20 Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.
  37. 21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.
  38. 22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.
  39. 23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
  40. 24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
  41. —————
  42. 20: The woman is telling Jesus were her and her people have been told that they have to worship God at.
  43. 21: Jesus says that a time is coming when they shall worship God neither at the mountain or at Jerusalem.
  44.
  45. 23-24: This says that God is a spirit, and that those that are to worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

  61. THE HOLY SPIRIT DESCENDING ON PEOPLE BEFORE CHRIST CAME?
  62.
  63. 1 Chronicles 12:17-19King James Version (KJV)
  64. 17 And David went out to meet them, and answered and said unto them, If ye be come peaceably unto me to help me, mine heart shall be knit unto you: but if ye be come to betray me to mine enemies, seeing there is no wrong in mine hands, the God of our fathers look thereon, and rebuke it.
  65. 18 Then the spirit came upon Amasai, who was chief of the captains, and he said, Thine are we, David, and on thy side, thou son of Jesse: peace, peace be unto thee, and peace be to thine helpers; for thy God helpeth thee. Then David received them, and made them captains of the band.
  66. 19 And there fell some of Manasseh to David, when he came with the Philistines against Saul to battle: but they helped them not: for the lords of the Philistines upon advisement sent him away, saying, He will fall to his master Saul to the jeopardy of our heads.

  69. SEVEN SPIRITS OF GOD?????
  70.
  71. Revelation 3:1-3King James Version (KJV)
  72. 3 And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead.
  73. 2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.
  74. 3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.
  75.
  76. Revelation 4:4-6King James Version (KJV)
  77. 4 And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold.
  78. 5 And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.
  79. 6 And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind.
  80.
  81. Revelation 5:5-7King James Version (KJV)
  82. 5 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.
  83. 6 And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.
  84. 7 And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne.
  85.
  86. INSTANCES OF DIFFERENT SPIRITS OF GOD:
  87.
  88. Revelation 11:10-12King James Version (KJV)
  89. 10 And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.
  90. 11 And after three days and an half the spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them.
  91. 12 And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.
  92.
  93. Revelation 19:9-11King James Version (KJV)
  94. 9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.
  95. 10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
  96. 11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
  97.
  98.
  99. The "seven spirits of God" are mentioned in Revelation 1:4; 3:1; 4:5; and 5:6. The seven spirits of God are not specifically identified, so it’s impossible to be dogmatic. Revelation 1:4 mentions that the seven spirits are before God's throne. Revelation 3:1 indicates that Jesus Christ "holds" the seven spirits of God. Revelation 4:5 links the seven spirits of God with seven burning lamps that are before God's throne. Revelation 5:6 identifies the seven spirits with the "seven eyes" of the Lamb and states that they are "sent out into all the earth."
  100.
  101. There are at least three possible interpretations of the seven spirits of God. The first is that the seven spirits of God are symbolic of the Holy Spirit. The Bible, and especially the book of Revelation, uses the number 7 to refer to perfection and completion. If that is the meaning of the “seven” in the "seven spirits," then it is not referring to seven different spirits of God, but rather the perfect and complete Holy Spirit. The second view is that the seven spirits of God refer to seven angelic beings, possibly the seraphim or the cherubim. This would fit with the numerous others angelic beings that are described in the book of Revelation (Revelation 4:6-9; 5:6-14; 19:4-5).
  102.
  103. A third possibility is based on Isaiah 11:2, which says, “The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him — the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of power, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD.” This could possibly explain the seven spirits of God: (1) Spirit of the LORD, (2) Spirit of wisdom, (3) Spirit of understanding, (4) Spirit of counsel, (5) Spirit of power, (6) Spirit of knowledge, (7) Spirit of the fear of the Lord. The Bible doesn’t tell us specifically who/what the seven spirits are, but the first interpretation, that they are the Holy Spirit, seems the most likely.

  121. COMMANDS ABOUT THE OLDTESTAMENT IN REGARDS TO THE NEW AND LOVE
  122.
  123. Leviticus 19:18 King James Version (KJV)
  124. 18 Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the Lord.

  126. Deuteronomy 5:10 King James Version (KJV)
  127. 10 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments.

  130. 12 Keep the sabbath day to sanctify it, as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee.
  131. 13 Six days thou shalt labour, and do all thy work:
  132.
  133. Deuteronomy 6:4-6 King James Version (KJV)
  134. 4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord:
  135. 5 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
  136. 6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
  137.
  138. Micah 6:8 King James Version (KJV)
  139. 8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

  141. LIVING ACCORDING TO GOD’S WORD
  142.
  143. Psalm 119:9
  144. How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word.
  145.
  146. —This means reading God’s word, so that you won’t fall astray.
  147.
  148. Romans 3:9-20
  149.
  150. 9 What then shall we conclude? Do we have any advantage? Not at all! For we have already made the charge that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under the power of sin.
  151. 10 As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one;
  152. 11 there is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God.
  153. 12 All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.”
  154. 13 “Their throats are open graves; their tongues practice deceit.” “The poison of vipers is on their lips.”
  155. 14 “Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness.”
  156. 15 “Their feet are swift to shed blood;
  157. 16 and ruin and misery mark their ways,
  158. 17 and they way of peace they do not know.”
  159. 18 “There is no fear of God before their eyes.”
  160. 19. Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God.
  161. 20There-fore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we became conscious of our sin.
  162.
  163.
  164. Romans 3:21-31
  165. 21 But now part from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the prophets testify. 22 This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. 25 God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood — to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance, he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished — 26 he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.
  166.
  167. 27 Where, then, is boasting? It is excluded. Because of what law? The law that requires works? No, because of the law that requires faith. 28 For we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from the works of the law. 29 Or is God the God of Jews only? Is he not the God of Gentiles too? Yes, of Gentiles too, 30 since there is only one God, who will justify the circumcised by faith, and the uncircumcised through that same faith. 31 Do we, then, nullify the law by this faith? Not at all! Rather, we uphold the law.
  168.
  169.
  170.
  171. Romans 9:30-33
  172.
  173. 30 What then shall we say That the Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have obtained it, a righteousness that is by faith; 31 but the people of Israel, who pursued the law as the way of righteousness have not attained their goal. 32 Why not? because they pursued it not by faith but as if it were by works. They stumbled over the stumbling stone.
  174. 33 As it is written: “See, I lay in Zion a stone that causes people to stumble
  175. and a rock that makes them fall,
  176. and the one who believes in him will never be put to shame.”
  177.
  178.
  179. —The law shows us that we are sinful, and that the only way to stop being sinful is through righteousness attained by faith not by works.
  180.
  181. STORY OF ZACHEUS
  182.
  183. Luke 19:1-10
  184. 1 And Jesus entered and passed through Jericho. 2 And, behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich. 3 And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature. 4 And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way. 5 And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house.
  185. 6 And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully. 7 And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner. 8 And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord: Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold. 9 And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham. 10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
  186.
  187. —Publicans were thieves, double crossers and hated people, they often took more than was required of them in order to pay for their own partying and selfish desires.
  188. —Publicans were hated by the pharisees, the sadjucees and the peasants for taxing them and cheating them out of their possessions
  189. —On the outside, Zacheus “didn’t” care about being hated, yet deep inside he did care, otherwise he wouldn’t have gone to see what Jesus was all about. Jesus was of “high rank” or popular among the people, obviously he had people who hated him too, and how did He handle them?
