  23. Bio:
  24. From a young age, Taylor White was infatuated with the world of superheroes around him. The stories he and his friends passed around at school, the way the media idolized them, there was nothing he wanted more than to share the pedestal with those who change the world on a daily basis.
  25.
  26. Born with no special traits however, Taylor was destined for mediocrity. He loathed his average self and strove to better himself through the same methods heroes like Captain America and Iron Man did: Technology and transhumanism.
  27.
  28. Taylor spent his entire years of education on understanding science and technology so that he may someday hone them, eventually landing a career in nanotech and bioengineering. He believed that the path to reaching the level of those who were “born superior” lay not in enhancing his body, but in completely changing it on an atomic level to possess the properties it was never formed with; In other words, becoming someone else, the ideal of power to which Taylor looked up. And what better way to do so than with machinery, which can be coded and altered in a way biological cells cannot?
  29.
  30. And after years of operating under the guise of potential cancer treatment or life prolongation, the impossible was done – Taylor had created a network, a hivemind of microbial nanomachines that weave between one’s cells and can be programmed to fulfill virtually any function of a regular human cell and more. Naturally, Taylor wanted to be the first test subject, and his confidence in his work encouraged his superiors to allow it.
  31.
  32. Through hours upon hours of surgery and coding alike, the project Taylor had spent his life theorizing was finally ready for activation. One turn of a dial and power surged into the nanomachines and the world “ONLINE” flashed on the operation screen. The experiment was a success, and Taylor was about to have the power he wished.
  33.
  34. However, in the world of heroes that Taylor longed for, many are forged through pain and tragedy. As the time came for him to regain consciousness, an unexpected side effect of the separation of his organic cells occurred. Like sand flying in the wind, Taylor’s skin flaked off instantaneously, followed by every other facet of his humanity. Underneath, all that remained were the shimmering metallic nanobots that now comprised his body. They were colored like that of a person’s, and Taylor still resembled himself quite clearly, but anyone could tell it wasn’t the same. The first thing he did when he came to, before even questioning his situation, was test if his life’s work was truly a success. His consciousness, or “soul”, had imprinted itself into each and every part of his new body, and he could quite literally code it on the fly just by thinking.
  35.
  36. His first action was replicate Captain America’s shield using the nanobots. He asked himself if he too could become a symbol of justice and strength, and his answer was yes. In fact, assuming he knew how it worked, Taylor could theoretically replicate any superhuman power to the extent his nanobots allow. Just as easily, he was able to change the pigment of the nanobots and blend with the environment, as well as move each one on an atomic level to mimic teleportation. His body was completely manipulable.
  37.
  38. The price of his humanity was an easy one to pay for Taylor, but he still recognized his beginnings as an ordinary person searching for a bigger purpose.
  39.
  40. As such, Taylor chose to take on the name of Skell, a reminder that even after changing his entire body structure to that of a living nanomachine network, the skeleton of humanity still lingers within.
