- The raven has returned. He beckons me to follow and I do so
- immediately, assuming it to be the sign I'm waiting for. He

- Kossuth, I know it is not my place to question your wisdom
- but I can't help but wonder if my devotion is being wasted
- in this forest. Have I missed a sign? Am I meant to be
- somewhere else? My faith stands firm, and I will remain here,
- but am I not better utilized elsewhere? I am your servant,
- please be my guide.

- Kossuth, I ask for a sign and you send me a messenger. I am
- sorry for doubting you. A man arrived today. I was wary, of
- course, but he addressed me by name and made every attempt
- to appear calm and non-threatening. He presented me with the
- reins to a horse - a magnificent looking specimen at that - and
- a note requesting my help with matters of spiritual
- Page 13
- importance. I am to ride north, for Aria, to meet with this
- man outside. What's more, the letter says I am to accept
- this magnificent steed as compensation for my time - or
- incentive, at the least. Kossuth, please guide me safely
- in my journeys both physical and spiritual.

- The beast moved like wind under my feet and she rides with
- the grace of an elven prostitute under silken sheets. The
- forest didn't stand a chance. Currently, I remain outside

- I am sitting in a booth in an inn called The Flatulent Hammer.
- The lithe, ashen colored tiefling who sought me out is currently
- at the bar. He approached me outside the gates just as the note
- instructed, though he tells me he has no memory of sending it.
- No memory of much at all, it seems. Offhandedly mentions waking
- up in a sanitarium. I'm not sure what to make of this, but
- staying in a public place may be the safest course of action.

- A divine morning it is! I see now why you lead me here, Kossuth.
- This quaint little tavern serves a drink that could only be
- your blessing. After imbibing an appropriate amount of them, I
- felt compelled to spread your message through song, and you were my
- hands. Your love spread through the room like wildfire. After
- which time, I met a particularly enchanting woman, and - let's just
- say Your skilled hands aren't just for playing music...
- Page 17
- I admit, it wasn't the most honest thing to do, but I saw the
- opportunity and I seized it. I seized it, Kossuth. I was able to
- convince the owner to allow me to put your holy light on the
- outside of his establishment. I told him it would help attract
- more business, which isn't a lie, but, in truth, I just wanted to
- bathe this city in your light. The people may not be ready to
- accept you, but we'll see what happens when they've tasted
- Page 18
- the delicious liquid fire inside. I wonder if I can convince them
- to rename it from the appalling "Witch King's Wrath" to something
- more appropriate like "Kossuth's Embrace"? I hope I've done well
- as your emissary. But enough of the future - the present is at
- hand. It's time to see what this tiefling has to say.
- Page 19
- Kossuth forgive and guide me. The things he said - the UNSPEAKABLE
- things the tiefling said. I couldn't contain myself! I almost
- passed your judgment immediately but
- Let me collect my thoughts and start from the beginning
- Page 20
- After breakfast, after placing His flame on the building, the
- tiefling and I sat in a corner booth to discuss why he sent for
- me. He said he still couldn't recall doing it, but he did have
- an idea of why he may have done it. He then asked if members of my
- faith practiced ecclesiastical privilege and, upon being told yes,
- he asked if he could make a confession.
- Page 21
- First, the tiefling elaborated on his memory problems. Says he only
- remembers things in brief flashes. He had a dream of killing a
- defenseless woman in the woods outside of town. Vividly remembered
- destroying her face with horrible necrotic energy. So no one would
- recognize her, he said. In this dream, he laughed while he did it,
- and looted some kind of orb from her pocket. This last part is
- Page 22
- of the utmost importance, you see, for he believed this all to be
- a horrible nightmare...until he found this orb among his possessions
- upon waking the next morn. He proceded to remove this evidence from
- his bag to show me and I leapt on him, ready to deliver him to
- justice. In that moment, with my hand around his throat, I realized
- I couldn't haul him before the court of man after promising him my
- silence. I couldn't sentence him to the justice of my God when he
- Page 23
- expected absolution. No. The only thing I could do was what I
- came here to do in the first place. I must lead this man through
- the darkness and into His Light on the other side. I will show him
- what it means to be righteous, and sway him from the evil hand of
- Ghaunadaur. (The tiefling had several disgusting artifacts of that
- demon in his possession and didn't even realize it!) I will make
- him worthy of your love, Kossuth. He will see. He WILL see.
- Page 24
- And, when the time is right, he will confess his crimes and face
- the consequences, for terrestrial punishments will no longer matter.
- Kossuth's forgiveness is all that matters.
- Page 25
- We've been asked to investigate what appears to be a series of
- murders in the city. Whether my new "companion" is involved, I know
- not - as a matter of fact, he may not even know himself. It's
- important that I keep a close eye on him during this time. At the
- very least, maybe seeing the consequences of someone else's actions
- will have a profound effect on his conscience.
