  1. [12:56] Furby Faulkland: Hey there DJ how you doin?
  2. [12:56] D.J Taylor (smith.pawpad): Good and you.
  3. [12:57] Furby Faulkland: not too shabby, what can I do for you?
  4. [12:58] D.J Taylor (smith.pawpad): I need to get your side and statement Regarding the Bull Hui and Candler Case.
  5. [12:58] D.J Taylor (smith.pawpad): "nods"
  6. [12:59] Furby Faulkland: "'Scuse us Chief"
  7. [12:59] D.J Taylor (smith.pawpad): "Walking by seeing the Chief and gives a wave"
  8. 13:00] Furby Faulkland: Do you just need a general version from my point of view eh?
  9. [13:00] D.J Taylor (smith.pawpad): "takes his pad and Pen out"
  10. [13:00] Furby Faulkland lowers her voice and speaks quietly so the whole station can not hear their conversation (will speak in IM so it will be easier to record)
  11. [13:01] D.J Taylor (smith.pawpad): Yea Pretty much. Just a General Ideal of what you think what happen.
  12. [13:01] D.J Taylor (smith.pawpad): (( ok ))
  13. [13:02] Furby Faulkland: OK so on the day in question, I received a call (IM) from Lt. Bull Hui with a complaint that the firefighter in question, Mr. Thomas Candler was misusing the radio. Meaning that he was responding and asking if the FD was needed before any FD requirements were established. This had become a habit of his, and I told the Lt that I would address it.
  14. [13:04] Furby Faulkland: Just before me calling him into my office, he had addressed me in an insubordinate fashion, stating, "Afternoon Faulkland", So I called him into my office, and asked him to have a seat. I pointed out my badge with my Captain rank on it, and he got very lippy with me which set a tone that kind of went down hill from there. After much debate with him about what is or is not disrespect, I got interrupted by a call from Lt Hui, asking if he was needed here....I told him to go ahead and come on, and together we gave a good talking to this firefighter... though admittedly most of the talking was between the Lt and Candler
  15. [13:05] D.J Taylor (smith.pawpad): "nods" Would you say that Lt. Hui showed the best interest in the Pd department.
  16. [13:07] Furby Faulkland: The entire time the Lt was here, Candler was disrespectful much as he was with me, and the Lt though firm, maintained a decorum of professionalism. His only.... if it could even be considered derogatory term that the Lt used, was he called him "bub". Which is by no means slanderous or demeaning. But rather a generally neutral term neither giving respect or showing disrespect. The firefighter's demeanor earned him bi respect, to be honest from either myself or the Lt
  17. [13:08] Furby Faulkland: The firefighter remained fairly combative, and after a time, I cut the discourse short and dismissed Candler. At which time he immediately asked for PD Chief's full name and contact information as well as that of the Chief Justice
  18. [13:08] D.J Taylor (smith.pawpad): "nods" Has this been a issue with Mr. Candler in the past?
  19. [13:09] Furby Faulkland: With the manner of disrespect, I had only heard rumors of his behaviour when he was in the PD, but saw it several times here since he has been hired. And in regards to the manner of misused of the radios, yes, it had become a habit
  20. [13:09] Furby Faulkland: *misuse
  21. [13:10] Furby Faulkland: Hense the reason for me calling him in to my office in the first place.
  22. [13:10] Furby Faulkland: I might add, that my asking the Lt to come speak to him had more to do with the manner of disrespect that Candler had expresssed to me in regards to the Lt.
  23. [13:10] D.J Taylor (smith.pawpad): "nods"
  24. [13:11] Furby Faulkland: (to be honest, I tried to explain to Candler that him even "hearing" the PD radios was just an SL thing and that technically in RL he would not have, so answering a call before it was dispatched to FD was by definition "meta-gaming")
  25. [13:12] D.J Taylor (smith.pawpad): Do you feel that if the Lt. hadn't showed up it would have escalated?
  26. [13:13] Furby Faulkland: No, I was nearly done here with Candler, and would have simply done what I did and report it to my Chief, As I stated, it was more to allow the Lt to explain to Candler why this was even an issue, since he didn't seem to be getting it into his brain
  27. [13:13] Furby Faulkland: And had Candler not thrown out derogatory remarks to me about the Lt, I probably would not have called him here either, but felt it needed to be addressed
  28. [13:14] D.J Taylor (smith.pawpad): "nods" Ok will thank you Captain for your time.
  29. [13:15] D.J Taylor (smith.pawpad): I'm sure this will help.
  30. [13:16] Furby Faulkland: IF this thing goes to trial, I will be happy to testify on behalf of the Lt
  31. [13:16] Furby Faulkland: He did nothing wrong, and maintained his composure even when the firegfighter got belligerent
  32. [13:17] D.J Taylor (smith.pawpad): (( Ok well with him not showing up not sure it might even get that far ))
  33. [13:17] Furby Faulkland: ((probably not, this is his MO.. Im not too worried LOL))
