  1. Anyway, I pre-ordered this a few days ago and finally had it installed last night. I figured the reviews were from people who were going to be overly tough on the game, because they had hopes as high as the rest of us.....

  3. So I played for about 90 minutes. The game runs incredibly smooth on my desktop (and I only have 2gb of ram at the moment, as I was testing something), although the Unreal Engine IS beginning to show its age.

  5. The audio is SPOT ON. Everything from the SFX to the music. The dialogue.... isn't abhorrent, but definitely has some of that "dude-bro" stuff going on.

  7. The Alien and enemy AI is fucking retarded though. The aliens spawn from the exact same location, each time. So I died a few times, but now I know to "Take 6 steps this direction, look at vent. Wait for alien to spawn. Shoot. Move forward 5 more, look left, repeat." It's essentially a tight corridor shooter with no sense of exploration. Plus the achievements and leveling up every few seconds or each time I gather something is jarring and takes you out of the game.

  9. Anyway, the Aliens will come STRAIGHT at you. And stand up to run? Which is odd. OR they will be COMPLETELY unaware of you, and stare with their back to you, despite being 5 feet away. I saw videos on youtube of this and thought "naaaah", but yup, it's true :/. It's like they waited until the absolute last minute to do ANY kind of AI work.

  11. Worth $50 on Steam? If you are a die-hard, then MAYBE? But I'd suggest holding off for now. It's not nearly as bad as many people make it out to be, but certainly does not live up to the hype, not even close. Bit of a bummer, huh?
