Hello!

If you are receiving this email it means I have previously discussed the idea of the Northeast Quiz Bowl Association (NEQBA) with you and you showed definite interest in helping out with creating a thriving circuit in the NE area.

So how do we get started?  This week I am sending out emails to prominent or helpful figures in the NE circuits, and also emails to people who we can help build circuits in areas where there aren't any.  Obviously, you are one of those folk.  And we will need your help, but let's start by going over what NEQBA can (hopefully) offer you.

The main thing we can offer is helping staff your High School tournaments, and generally provide support for running tournaments in your area.  But we hope to extend that, as we grow.  We'd like to have newsletters sent to every school with a program to advertise your tournaments and any resources you may have.  We'd like to get this newsletter as well as a description of what quiz bowl is and how it works to as many schools without programs as possible, to help them start one.  We'd like to try and negotiate discounts on questions, buzzers, printing, whatever, for your program.  Whatever you can do to start and maintain a circuit, we would like to help.  We can also offer shiny NEQBA.org email addresses.

Now obviously, Evan Silberman and I can't do this all by ourselves.  We'd like your help.  We need people to be able to help staff other people's tournaments, we need people to help get a list of events in the area, and people to stuff envelopes or put stamps on them.  We need people to send emails to near by schools, and people to generally help out in any way they can.

We aren't asking you to join an organization yet, we are still working out what the structure of NEQBA will be, but we would like to know if you are onboard, we would like to invite you to help take part in figuring out the future of the organization, and most of all, we would like to see you continuing to help the high school and collegiate quiz bowl circuits in the Northeast grow.
