  1. Koto took the scroll in one hand as it was offered, the other curling around Suzuri's headband-- both were looked down at, scanned with wide, wet eyes for several moments, before she'd pocket the headband and unravel the scroll, reading over it with the utmost haste.
  2.
  3. Everything around her felt hazy. Nothing felt real. Not felt right. Reality was finally starting to settle in with what was indistinguishably Suzuri's handwriting right in front of her, giving her parting message to the world. And it was finally, at that point, that the Uchiha completely broke.
  4.
  5. Reality struck her full force: Senju, Suzuri was never coming back.

  10.
  11. A girl with blue hair approaching her. Koto, still a little bit of a mess of a person, feels a natural nervousness - social interaction not her forte, at this point in her life more than ever. A finger was pointed in her face, a question asked with vigor-
  12.
  13. 'Hey! you! What's your name, huh?'
  14.
  15. Koto, startled, gives it.
  16.
  17. 'Come and sit with me.'
  18.
  19. So, she did.
  20.
  21. 'Hey, Koto... you're pretty shy, huh?'
  22.
  23. The blue haired girl makes eye contact. Naturally, that scares the timid Koto, and she looks away, but affirms the Senju's question. She is, indeed, pretty shy. Much to her surprise, that answer is met with incredible enthusiasm.
  24.
  25. 'Let's be friends, then. My mom told me to help shy people make their way around in the world. I'm Suzuri.'
  26.

  28.
  29. Think to the sound that a sister might make, answering the door to law enforcement and receiving news that their sibling, their dearest, closest bond was never coming home. The despair, the anguish, the sheer overwhelming sadness within their voice - that, in this moment, was the sound Koto made. A wail unlike any other, as she drops to her knees, the scroll falling out of her hand and hitting the ground.
  30.
  31. "No... no... no..."
  32.
  33. Her head fell low. Her eyes hit the scroll, re-reading the bloody message left to her and Omoikane over and over again, so many times that it seemed as if her eyes moved to match its color - shifting from their normal black to a bloody crimson. Her best friend's dying words in front of her, triggering something special. A dying gift.
  34.
  35. "It... she can't... not Suzuri, she can't-..."
  36.
  37. But she could.
  38.
  39. She knew it would happen eventually, somewhere in the back of her mind. That this cruel, vicious world would rip and tear away at everything she cared for, everything she held dear - but she had thought she'd be able to fight back. To make a difference, and maybe change fate. But no. In this situation, she had been completely and utterly powerless to do a thing, and her whole world had been flipped upside down.
  40.
  41. "...why? Why does... why do I..."
  42.
  43. A terrible thought occurred to her.
  44.
  45. "...why...does everyone...I love...leave me...?"
  46.
  47. She raised a hand into the air, bringing it down onto the floor with as much force as she could muster and letting out another scream, filled with every ounce of sorrow in her body - every ounce of feeling. At that point, it was all she could do to sit there on her hands and knees, openly weeping, mourning the loss of the closest person to her.
  48.
  49. But, as stated earlier, the Senju had left her a dying gift: even Koto herself hadn't quite noticed, but in her activated Sharingan, there stood not one, not two, but three active tomoe. In her death, Suzuri had inadvertently left the girl a goodbye in the form of these fucking cursed eyes.
  50.
  51. "...why? Why? WHY!?"
