Manual transmissions are a symbol of toxic masculine hetero normative patriarchy.

Often times men brag when they can drive manual and swear by it's supremacy over automatic transmission. These toxic men then belittle others who do not drive manual. There is a simple explanation why men do this: control.

Men enjoy the feeling of power and control when they can control a transmission completely and as result oppressing the automobile as a whole. Automatic transmission does not allow a man to mansplain to the car the gear ratio he wants and thus it leads to discomfort for the man.

It is a proven fact that road rage is more common among men who drive manual, as they want to oppress the whole traffic and are frustrated when they can't, but we can't discount the men who want to drive manual but for some reason can't and thus lash out on other drivers.

Even the shape and the name of the device 'transmission' is meant to oppress women and sexual minorities. Men enjoy shifting gears on manual transmissions because it reminds them of their own manliness, their hard erect penises. Each gear shift is like another rub on their knob, driving them forward towards the ecstasy of orgasm. This is one of the few cases where gay men are less oppressed than straight women, because gay men themselves often feel this same joy as straight men, but still to a lesser extent.

Women however the manual transmission exposes to unwanted phallus contact.
