Milly is not fluent in English, but finds it interesting and tries to learn it. Even though it doesn't show, culture has always been something the girl was interested in — which is funny considering that people mostly assume that she would be more into stuff on her phone. In school she has very high grades in that subject, but has a lot more to study before she can become fluent in the language. Luckily, her mother not only knows Korean and Spanish, but also is fluent in three other languages, including English — so she likes to try and hold conversations with her and learn what to do if she doesn't remember a certain word.

BACKGROUND :Coming from a rich family, Milly lived a privileged life — even though those words left a blow to her pride. Yes, she came from a hardworking father who makes immense amounts of cash, but she didn't like others calling her out for it. It felt like they were assuming that she hid behind her wealth, which was NOT something Milagros wanted to be known as. She wanted to show everyone that she was just as hardworking and could accomplish just as much if not even more than her mother and father.

The transition from Puerto Rico to Seoul wasn't difficult for Milly to adjust to because she was still an infant. However, it was a bit uncomfortable for her to adjust to primary school when she had to go. Having larger eyes, slightly curlier hair and tanner skin (coming from her mother), Milly was often questioned by her classmates. It ranged from simple and innocent questions like "So is your mom actually from Spain?" or "So what kind of traditional foods do you eat?" — to plain rude comments about her family and herself, such as: "Your mom is kind of ugly, no offense" or "Your hair looks better fully straight, you should use an iron often". This often left the girl angered and would reply with bitchy remarks in return, which got her in trouble most of the time. As many fights and arguments broke out, Milagros never backed down once. Not even to the older children in primary school who would whisper to their friends. To Milly, those shitty words could go untouched, she HAD to do something. It was a matter of pride — no a matter of dignity, her rage bubbling inside until she was ready to burst.

This hotheaded and competitive trait clung to Milly like a koala, staying with her until this very date, along with her conceitedness. But she grew older, the girl matured a bit. As any teenage girl, Milly was slightly more conscious about others and herself than she was as a child. She was interested in the clothing models in magazines wore, and wondered if she would also look nice. She liked chatting with her father about the latest technology to see if he was going to buy it for himself someone, hinting that she wanted one. She slowly fell into the Internet as well, memes and funny videos stored secretly on her phone for when she wanted to laugh, as well as tumblr (because almost all teenagers fall into this hell of a place).

Milly doesn't actually work at the hotel, however she goes there often to see TAMING OF THE SHREW, a close family friend. She gets scolded by her because she keeps hanging around and distracting the other workers, especially MIDSUMMER NIGHT DREAM. Although, Milly likes to tease TAMING OF THE SHREW lightly, claiming the girl adores her and is just jealous that Milly doesn't have to work there (which may or may not be true — for both wild claims). Since the biracial girl doesn't work at the hotel, you can often see her jumping from one place to the next — walking around the hotel to talk to the older slots (and steal food when HAMLET isn't looking).

PERSONALITY : Milly's personality is complicated and hard to describe.

From a first introduction with Milagros, she appears to be irritable, sarcastic, stubborn and selfish, and sometimes comes off as hostile. Yet she has a slightly bitter outlook on life, and quickly can become frustrated and throw a small fit when things don't go her way, showing her spoiled sided. However, this negative trait can also be sweet as well. When Milly tries to do something thoughtful for a family member or friend, and it doesn't go as she planned, Milly often becomes stressed and angry at herself, only wanting the best for them yet she can't give them it.

Milly is very stubborn and can seem rude and insensitive too. But she really means well and deep down she still is a kind child, she just has limits in patience and her temper (which is one of the reasons why she can't deal with the job MIDSUMMER NIGHT DREAM owns).

Though these different sides of her complex personality seem to contradict, they both sprouted from his upbringing as a child, since Milly lived a (even though she hates saying it) privileged life which made her selfish, prideful, and inconsiderate about others as a child.

Though Milagros is quite stubborn and lacks manners, she is not without a kind side; Milly can care for others but has difficulty overcoming her own flaws to express empathy. Furthermore, her temper contradicts her naivety with the world and how to express/display her feelings. The girl can be best described as "a vibrant young woman who's insecure, wants to be loved and express her love to others, but has a hard exterior that needs to be broken down." Milly's softer personality is done discreetly and often is short due to her being embarrassed and returning back to her colder persona. She isn't the person anyone should go to for comfort, as Milly doesn't really know how to. All she can do is silently listen, make humorous jokes to calm them down, and hug the person until they feel better.

LIKES :

+ playing around and making jokes (she would joke and play around a lot)

+ eating (even when she's not hungry, Milly somehow has food in her hands - and it didn't help that her father is an expert cook and her mother loves making traditional foods)

+ watching movies and going on the internet (she loves watching them over reading and drama)

+ learning about different cultures and languages (influenced partially by mother)

+ DC and Marvel (she loves the super heroes and villains and the movies and comics )

+ Disney (working on her English skills, Milly enjoys watching Disney movies to understand and secretly sing along)

+ sweaters (because even though she loves fashion, the girl loves wearing sweaters as well, even though its summer)

+ Beanies and Snapbacks (they look very good on her)

+ the colour blue and black (she likes how the colours blend and mix, but also likes pastel and other colours too)

+ cooking (coming from a mother who loves cooking and a father who own a catering company, it's kind of expected that she likes cooking)

+ pizza, cake,  and pasta (as she loves eating, she also loves eating these the most)

+  gummy bears (it somehow calms her down from being too high but also the cause of her high)

+ winning and being the best (she just loves the exhilaration and confidence boost it gives her)


DISLIKES :

- haechan sometimes (when he annoys/teases her)

- coffee (she just doesn't like it as much )

- cabbage (has an allergic reaction to it)

- reading novels (she would tend to fall asleep/gets easily distracted )

- people beating her in competitions/proving her wrong (her pride can stand it)

- exercising excessively (she tends to be lazy, so even thinking of extreme exercise tires her)


TRIVIA :

• her father lowkey was disappointed when he found out that Milly was allergic to cabbage because he loved cooking foods for her to eat

• even though Milly claims she disliked Haechan since the day she met him, she actually thought he was really handsome with his glowing skin and was a bit intimidated by him (even though she would rather die than say the truth)

• Milly, in fact, has a small crush on Taeyong. She acts differently around him and actually is sweet and polite towards him. She often blushes or is quick to talk about how cool Taeyong is. Her friends have noticed this and slightly teases/pokes her for liking an older man. Freaks out internally when people hint it at Taeyong and threatens to beat their asses

• She finds people who try to learn another language really cute??? Like, her heart legit flutters when she hears someone try, and especially when they try to speak Spanish

• Milly likes trying to speak English with Mark and Johnny and learns a few words/phrases (her favorites so far is "oh shit man, no way" and "hold the phone! ..... now give the phone to me")

• doesn't like acting cute in front of anyone - but when it comes to Taeyong she's willing too??? Which kind of makes Haechan angry because why only Taeyong and not him???

•  has a habit of playing with her fingers when she's stressed or trying to deal with something difficult. Milly doesn't realize it but she uses hand gestures a lot when talking

• buys and loses earbuds so quickly that she gave up and stuck with using her blue headphones

• Yuta commented once at Milly was a tsundere (he then got punched very hard in the stomach)

• has a habit mumbling words in Spanish and uses them when she forgets a word in Korean, which leads to an identity crisis sometimes. Also blurts out sentences in Spanish when she struggles to express her feelings

•  wants to be taller than 5'4 because next to Johnny she looks like a kid? Next to almost anyone really, she's small.

• actually learned how to play the voila and piano when she was younger, but stopped for a while because of lost interest (she enjoys listening and playing both instruments from time to time now)

• subconsciously says 'I love you' before hanging up the phone when speaking to anyone because she's so used to saying it to her mother and father


COLLEGE MAJOR : Milly is still in high school, but really wants to become a lawyer when she grows up. She wants to major in either criminal justice or political science. However, she isn't stressed about choosing just yet, seeing she has time before college.

OPINION ON JOB : Milly doesn't work at the hotel, but she does have poor customer service skills. She can coach others to become god workers, but she herself couldn't stand the attitudes of customers sometimes (even though hers could use improvement as well)

LOVE INTEREST : Haechan

BACKUP LOVE INTEREST : Johnny (he's literally one of the only people left); but to be honest Milly is interested in Taeyong.

HIS PERSONALITY : really annoying sometimes, asks lots of questions and loves making fun of her and others.  Although Haechan can be sweet sometimes like leaving small gummybear treats around. He knows his boundaries and stops when he realizes he actually harmed the person (emotionally, physically, etc)

HOW YOU ACT AROUND HIM : Milly actually thought Haechan was handsome was a bit intimidated by him when she first saw him. But just as he opened his mouth to say his first words to her, she immediately took back everything she thought about him. He was infuriating to be around, and it took a lot out of Milagros not to strangle the boy to death. She acts cold and rude to the poor boy but he doesn't seem to be affected by any of it, in fact he taunts her back like its some sort of game. The only time she doesn't snap at him is when he tries to tease her about her obvious crush on Taeyong, to which she agrees and compliments about Taeyong further. Even though he likes to annoy her, Milly secretly enjoys his company - and that he hadn't quit yet because of her attitude towards him. She tones down her harshness towards him and tries to act nice (even though he calls her out for it and says its weird). She sometimes thinks back to when she first saw Haechan and turns flustered because she realizes that he's actually a massive dork and really cute too. Soon forgets about her crush on Taeyong and starts to like Haechan more, hitting him on the shoulder more often and having no comebacks to his taunts. Frustrated and awkwardly tries to compliments him, but then quickly makes it into an insult to cover up the fact that she complimented him. She also tries to distance herself from him to get rid of her slight crush on him and also to stop thinking about how close and warm he feels. In all honesty, Milly had no idea how to handle the situation - especially with her attitude.

HOW HE ACTS AROUND YOU : Haechan really loved making fun of Milly for some odd reason. He didn't know why, but he just loved doing it! Watching her get mad and fight back entertained him, and he found her interesting. Maybe what allured him was the fact that she was more on the tanned side like him? Who knows the reason why he started messing with her a lot. Her reactions were priceless and it was nice seeing her attack him as well. But after he found out Milly's obvious crush on Taeyong, he decided to furthermore embarrass her. Teasing her about Taeyong, he was saddened that Milly didn't act the way he expected her to act. In fact she would smile dreamily and agree - going on about how wonderful Taeyong was. He got annoyed by it eventually, and somehow felt something weighing his chest everytime she brought her crush up. When Taeyong realizes about Milly's obvious crush on him (even though it took him a while), he gently tells her that he doesnt feel the same way, and thinks of her more as a very close, younger sibling to him. And when Haechan heard about the news, he felt that heavy weigh on his chest decrease suddenly. However, seeing that Milly was slightly heartbroken by the rejection, and not up to the teasing and jokes, he decided to try and cheer her up by secretly giving Milly her favorite snacks and awkwardly talks with her about it. Once she feels better, he somehow felt different about Milly. He felt anxious everytime they touched, and felt nervous and slightly embarrassed when she wore simple dresses apart from the sweaters she wore indoors and when she complimented him. Once he realized that he actually liked Milly, Haechan tried to act kinder towards her, throwing in a few compliments and muttering underneath his breath how cute she was sometimes.

RELATIONSHIP TRIVIA : In the beginning it was pretty awkward actually. After establishing they both like each other, neither one of them really tried skinship. Even when they tried handholding, it was for a millisecond, and both parties were very embarrassed. After a while, Haechan probably was the one to initiate more skinship because of doubts and worry. It was small, like casual handholding and hugs here and there that gradually grew longer, compliments and little gifts and such to each other. Over time, they both got comfortable with their relationship, and Milly also participated in starting skinship with Haechan, by snuggling next to him and shy kisses on the cheek and receive the same but on her forehead. Though they still tease one another, but it wasn't as harsh as it was before. Overall they're relationship would be awkwardly cute, and it would take a while for them to get comfortable with each other because they're still young and probably haven't experience something like this before.

SUGGESTED SCENES : Other than a first introduction, maybe a scene where Milly is suppose to teach Haechan something for his job, but she's distracted by Taeyong and just keeps looking at him from afar. And he gets agitated because she's suppose to teach him something - or maybe it's because she keeps looking at Taeyong and not him. Probably he does something stupid that draws her attention to him, like Haechan accidentally hurting himself and Milly scolds him while helping him out.

And another scene where Milly bonds with HAMLET by coming into the kitchen and cooking with her (both can throw shade and salt on others). And HAMLET is a bit annoyed because she really just wanted some alone time, and also finds out that Milly sneaks snacks out of the kitchen a lot.

A scene with Milly chatting with MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM as she working, and kind of distracting her. Both of them eating the snacks Milly snuck from the kitchen, they talk about random topics — starting off with how school is or "how long do you last in an underwater fight with a crocodile", and somehow talking about boys. Which could either be a funny topic to talk about or extremely uncomfortable and embarrassing, especially if they were talking about the newest recruits. And maybe the scene can end with an annoying customer on the phone?


ANYTHING ELSE? : I honestly don't anything else to say! This is my first time submitting a form for an apply fic, so I don't expect to be picked out everyone else, but I'm really excited for this!
