━BACKGROUND ›

ritsuko was born into a normal civilian family in kaiyo - she had nothing that set her apart from anyone else, except maybe the fact that she always managed to bring destruction everywhere she went - though that was not even intentionally.

so, she didn't seem to have what it takes to become a ninja at first - except the wish, that she eventually was granted by the umikage, after an almost unnatural amount of chakra - for an untrained civilian - was traced back to ritsuko. that was the score that shot her into the academy. although she certainly wasn't even nearly in the top 15 of the class, she's trying her hardest to keep up with others - clan kids especially - privileged little clowns, she thinks, all luck from mother nature that they were born with an advantage.

her father wasn't particularly fond of her choice of career at first, but something made him realise how much she wished for it, so he gave in and let her follow her path. yet her mother reimained negative towards her choice - she didn't think her frail daughter was suited for the hectic lifestyle of a ninja, she would rather have her stay in their bubble all safe and sound. not that ritsuko noticed much of that serious mother issue - she was too busy stabbing her grandmothers orchids with a wooden sword, claiming they looked like eyes of enemies in the dead of the night.
