  1. --1. GENERAL--
  2. 1A. Rules in this might be wrong or not completely spelled out. What I tell you is the rule is correct. It doesn't matter if it contradicts what's written. I will come up with rules or change rules for unforeseen situations not covered by our rules. I reserve the right to reverse my or Henry's decision when new information comes up including remembering how a situation should've been dealt with.
  3.
  4. 1B. You can appeal disputes, penalties, and rulings I make by going to Henry. I usually start by going to Henry. Generally this can only be appealed by the Owners involved. This does not include simply playing by the rules. Henry power does go beyond the rules. If it involves the LMs Henry will rule on disputes I'm involved in, I will make the rulings on Henry's, and Ron will be the arbiter on disputes between Henry and I.
  5.
  6. --2. KEEPERS/ROSTER--
  7. 2A. You can keep 8-10 MLB Keepers, 10 Prospects, and 3 Wizards. If you keep 9 MLB Players you will get 1 Supplemental Round pick. If you keep 8 MLB Players you will get 2 Supplemental Round picks. The Supplemental Rounds happen after the 2nd round.
  8.
  9. 2B. You have 35 roster slots. The 25 MLB Slots are for MLB Players or Wizards. Any Prospects put in one of your 25 MLB slots becomes a Wizard. You can own as many Wizards as you want. The other 10 roster slots and Minor League Slots that can only be used on Prospects or Wizards you've sent down. The Minor League Slot limit is not enforced during the offseason.
  10.
  11. 2C. You need a valid roster that meets the 25 MLB Slots and 10 Minor League Slots limits when waivers clear. You cannot add a 26th MLB Players or 11th Minor League Player with the wire because your roster wouldn't be valid when waivers clear. Callups, send downs, trades, or Players taken off the DL can put you over the limits, but you need to have a valid roster by the next time waivers clear. If your roster isn't valid when waivers clear you'll be penalized as if you've added a 26th MLB Player or 11th Prospect or worse.
  12.
  13. 2D. You need at least 20 Players in your 25 MLB Player Slots that aren't on the DL, suspended, or in the minors. This is only enforced when it your roster becomes an issue.
  14.
  15. 2E. You need to run a full lineup and hit pitching min IP to try to win. If you're benching to try to win cats or have made a trade/drops and don't have enough that is OK. If you're consistently not running a full lineup over multiple waiver claim periods you'll be penalized or replaced. You won't get penalized for missing the pitching IP min every once in a while, but might be penalized or replaced if it happens too often. I will penalize this heavier near the end of the season and the strictness will go up concerning open slots and whether you have the ACQs to fill them. It is up to the LMs whether what you're doing constitutes trying to win or leaving slots open and affecting the playoff race because you no longer care about the season.
  16.
  17. 2F. If you want to fill up a Minor League Slot with a Retired Player as a Surrogate you can ask an LM to put one on your team. It will not count against your acqs. You cannot use this Retired Player to represent a Prospect that is not in the ESPN System later. This only works for Minor League Slots. Note the Surrogate with your other Minor League Players with Surrogate(Retired Player).
  18.
  19. --3. ROSTER MOVES--
  20. 3A. Players on the wire no longer carry any status they had with former teams. The exception is if you pick up your own former Player before a waiver claim has passed after you cut him or an entire draft if you dropped him during the Draft. This means you can't cut a Wizard you owned and pick him back up immediately to make him a Prospect.
  21.
  22. 3B. You cannot claim Players or pick up Players during the offseason until after the Draft.
  23.
  24. 3C. If you drop a Player on accident we can add him back if you've alerted us asap. This might cost you a waiver move or a Draft Pick. We can choose not to give your Player back if we think you're lying. Generally we'll just add the Player back if we're told immediately.
  25.
  26. 3D. If you start a Prospect or Wizard you've sent down on accident you can ask to have him taken out of your lineup to keep them as a Minor League Player if you alert us quickly. This might cost a Draft Pick. and a day's worth of stats. If it's too late or too complicated we will likely deny your appeal, but most of the time it'll be allowed if it's caught asap and looks like you aren't lying.
  27.
  28. 3E. The LMs can decide to not allow an Owner to drop a Player. This is not a general rule. This is for stuff like people being emos, collusion, or trying to mess up the playoffs.
  29.
  30. --4. PROSPECTS--
  31. 4A. You can pick up a Player that is MLB Rookie Eligible(has less than 130 abs/50 IP/45 days on active roster in his career) and has gained no stats during the current year as a Prospect. If they play but don't gain any stats(defensive replacement, pitch runner that does nothing, etc) during the year they are still Prospect eligible. Prospects are free to keep forever in a Minor League Slot as long as they are still Prospects. You cannot DL Prospects. You can keep up to 10 Prospects.
  32.
  33. 4B. Your Prospect/Wizard list in the Minor League Slots/Wizards thread is official. You need to update your list within 2 days whether you acquire a new Prospect/Wizard, drop/trade away a Prospect/Wizard, or one of your Prospect's/Wizard's status changes.
  34.
  35. -You have to put first and last names in the Minor League Slots/Wizards thread. You need to list Open Minor League Slots as "Open" in your list. Players that aren't updated will lose their status and I might cut the Player or dock you. It will cost you a pick to keep the Player's status intact. If you don't note a Player being cut/traded away or don't list your Open slots there will be a slap on wrist unless you're a repeat offender. The 2 day update is not enforced during the offseason unless it involves picking up a Retired Player for a Prospect not in the ESPN System. You need to update anything involved Prospects not in the ESPN System within 2 days at all times.
  36.
  37. 4C. You need to post in the Minor League Slot/Wizards thread when calling up a Player from a Minor League Slot or sending a Player down to a Minor League Slot. This includes picking up a Wizard up directly from the waiver wire.
  38.
  39. 4D. You can claim or Draft any Prospect in the minors if they've signed before the Draft of the current year starts.
  40.
  41. 4E. You cannot Draft, claim, or pick up Players that have never signed or Players that sign their first contract after the Draft starts for the current year. Foreigners or Amateurs that sign their first MLB deal will be Prospect eligible in the next Prospect/MLB Draft after they officially sign. Foreigners might go into the Foreign Player Auctions.
  42.
  43. 4F. If you want to claim a Prospect not in the ESPN System pick up a Retired Player then note it in your Minor League slots.
  44.
  45. -If you aren't the only one picking up Retired Players on that day you can message me the Player you want to claim to make sure you're the only one trying to pick up that Player before you note the Player in your Minor League slots. If there are multiple Owners trying to pick up the same Player I will figure out who won the auction. Anybody that bid for but did not get the Player not in the ESPN System will get their assets back such as acqs or FAAB. You cannot switch the Player the Retired Player is substituting on your list. You will have to pick up a new Retired Player. You can't switch who the Retired Player is substituting for without making a move. If you didn't get the Retired Player you tried to get I will add another to your team.
  46.
  47. 4G. Prospects can only be in one of the 10 Minor League Slots during the season. You do not have to own any Prospects. If you have any Prospects in MLB roster Slots by the time waivers clear they will become a Wizard or MLB Player and you might get docked. If you call up a Prospect and don't make room by the next time waivers clear I might make him an MLB Player, make you cut him, or dock you. This is not enforced during the offseason.
  48.
  49. --5. WIZARDS--
  50. 5A. If you call up or use a Prospect they will be a Wizard. You have used a Prospect if they have gained stats for you. If they do not get any stats then they haven't been used even if they were in your lineup. You can also call up Prospects by noting them as Wizards in the Minor League Slots/Wizards thread. If you have a Prospect on the DL when waivers clear he is now a Wizard. You can pick up Prospect eligible Players as Wizards.
  51.
  52. 5B. You need to post in the Minor League Slot/Wizards thread when calling up a Player from a Minor League Slot or sending a Player down to a Minor League Slot. This includes picking up a Wizard up directly from the waiver wire.
  53.
  54. 5C. You can own any amount of Wizards during the season. You can keep up to 3 Wizards. Wizards become MLB Players after being kept as a Wizard. This means if they pass the Keeper Deadline as a Wizard they are now MLB Players. If you call up a Prospect after the Keeper Deadline they will be Wizards.
  55.
  56. 5D. You can send a Wizard down into a Minor League Slot. An Owner can only use this once on the same Player. A new Owner can send a Wizard down that has already been send down by a different Owner. They are still Wizards even if they've been sent down to a Minor League Slot. They will take up one of your 10 Minor League Slots. This cannot be used in the playoffs. Post in the Minor League Slot/Wizards thread if you're using this. Put them with your other Minor League Slot Players and mark them with (Wizard).
  57.
  58. 5E. (this is effective next year) You can send a Wizard down to a Minor League Slot and make him a normal Prospect if he gets sent down to the Minor Leagues by his MLB team. You have 2 days to this use this after he gets sent down. This can only be used on Wizards you have called up yourself and on Wizards that have been getting MLB playing time for a month or less(such as March 15th to April 15th). This can only be used once a year by an Owner. This counts as a Wizard send down. This cannot be used in the playoffs. Post in the Minor League Slot/Wizards thread if you're using this. Put them with your other Minor League Slot Players and mark them with (*).
  59.
  60. 5F. (this is effective next year) You can send a former Wizard that was kept this year down to a Minor League Slot if they are not starting the year on an MLB roster. You have until Opening Day for his franchise to use this on a Player. You have to call them up within 2 days of them being called up to their MLB teams and they will be normal MLB Players. Post in the Minor League Slot/Wizards thread if you're using this. Put them with your other Minor League Slot Players and mark them with (MLB).
  61.
  62. --6. TRADES--
  63. -General-
  64. 6A. Trades with Players only become official when accepted on ESPN. Trades involving FAAB or Draft Picks become official once all information is completely posted in the trade thread and confirmed then accepted on ESPN if there are Players involved. You have to note who you're trading with and all assets involved or it is not official. 3+ way trades become official once posted in the trade thread and confirmed by all parties involved.
  65.
  66. 6B. You can make trades that involve assets being delivered in the future. Any players that aren't in Minor League Slots have to be delivered within 7 days. You cannot call up any players that are in Minor League Slots involved in the trade. This does not include tradebacks because tradebacks are collusion in this League. Post each part of the trade, what assets are involved, and what the conditions are in the trade thread and have it confirmed. It's up to these Owners to track the trade but I can get involved if there is a dispute or you need something LM'd through. Abusing this to get around other rules will get the trade vetoed.
  67.
  68. 6C. You have 48 hours to confirm a trade that needs a confirmation in the trade thread. After 48 hours you will be docked and it'll be assumed you've confirmed the trade. You can appeal this.
  69.
  70. 6D. Completing a trade locks in a Player's status(Prospect/Wizard/MLB/*). If you trade for a Prospect and the other Owner uses him you're still getting a Prospect. If there is any attempt to abuse this to get free playing time off a Prospect or whatever I will intervene and likely penalize one or both Owners.
  71.
  72. 6E. You can acquire extra MLB Players that would be in Minor League Slots or Minor League Players that would be in MLB Slots after the trade, but you need a valid roster by the next time waivers clear. I will cut any extra MLB/Minor League Players if your roster isn't valid when waivers clear and penalize you.
  73.
  74. 6F. Our trade deadline will be 8 hours after the MLB trade deadline. You can set up trades that will deliver assets past the deadline(even into next season), but not if those assets will be delivered in during the playoffs. If you're in the middle of a trade discussion you can request Henry or I to give you a 5-10 minute extension to finish the trade. It'll only be for the parties involved.
  75.
  76. -Cheating/Vetoes-
  77. -Henry or I will make all judgements on any cheaty/messed up trades and everything is up for appeal. The penalties will be all over the map from nothing but calling you a doofus to devastating, but usually will involve the latter.
  78.
  79. 6G. I will veto any emo trades, trades involving collusion, or trades with assets outside the league. Tradebacks fall under collusion in this League.
  80.
  81. 6H. If one team is acquiring assets for free or essentially free the trade will get vetoed.
  82.
  83. 6I. If you try to trick someone in a trade by offering someone with a similar name or deceive someone in any way outside the game the trade will be almost certainly be vetoed. This includes lying or just being wrong about a rule or a Player's status. Trades might be cancelled if one or both parties are mistaken about how a rule works or what a Player's status is.
  84.
  85. 6J. Henry or I will usually veto trades involving a Player that was injured after an offer is sent but before it was accepted. Whether the injury is enough to affect his value/playing time are the main considerations. Do not jokingly accept this kind of trade because if you affect stats you could get docked. We won't veto a trade if you just missed the news. You can appeal if the injury has escalated(sore elbow became a torn UCL) or the injury news was extremely hard to find. We might reverse our decision if we denied an Owners appeal because we thought the injury/soreness was nothing but ended up wrong.
  86.
  87. 6K. If you acquire a starting pitcher you cannot trade him the same week unless he's already started after the pickup. This to avoid Owners helping other Owners stream. This might be waived if it doesn't look like a free stream.
  88.
  89. 6L. If an Owner is claiming they misclicked during a trade it'll be up to Henry whether to veto the trade. We will ignore closeish low value trades. If the trade is closer to #300 Player for #350 Player these will be up to Henry and he'll probably ignore it. Obvious absurd trades, such as the #1 Player for #200, Player will get reversed. You might also lose stats.
  90.
  91. --7. TIE BREAKERS--
  92. -Regular Season Standings
  93. A. Head to Head or common games if multiple teams
  94. B. Best division record if in the same division
  95. C. Best record vs playoff teams
  96. D. Best record in week 18, then 17, etc
  97.
  98. -Tie breakers will eliminate teams one at a time if there is a 3+ way tie.
  99.
  100. -Seeding will break Playoff ties.
  101.
  102. --8. PLAYOFFS--
  103. 8A. The waiver acq limit goes from 4 pick ups to 6. The pitching IP min to qualify for ERA/WHIP goes from 45 innings to 70 innings during the playoffs.
  104.
  105. 8B. Penalties are different during the playoffs and near the end of the year and might involve loss of stats.
  106.
  107. 8C. Teams that miss the playoffs or teams that lose in the playoffs can have Prospect eligible Players added to their team as either Prospects or Wizards. You cannot add an 11th Minor League Player or 4th Wizard with this rule. Post in the Minor League Slots/Wizards Thread to have a Prospect eligible Player added to your team. After the Championship the 2nd place finisher can have Players added followed by the Champion.
  108.
  109. 8D. The first 5th/6th consolation matchup is the one that counts. The second one means nothing.
  110.
  111. 8E. Higher seeds of each round will get to choose their matchup. Your opponent will be official at 10:00 pm PST Sunday(can change). You can find out your opponent by going to the Seeding thread. If you get to choose your opponent or potentially choose your opponent you need to list who you want to play in order in the Seeding Thread before 10:00pm PST Sunday(can change) or you will get your default opponent.
  112.
  113. The 3rd Seed can choose to play the 5th or 6th seed in the first round of the playoffs.
  114. The 1st Seed can choose to play either first round winner in the 2nd round of the playoffs.
  115.
  116. The 9th Seed can choose to play the 11th or 12th in the first round of consolation.
  117. The 7th Seed can choose to play either first round winner in the 2nd round of consolation.
  118.
  119. --9. PRIZES--
  120. 9A. Prize picks are always at the end of the round.
  121. 1st- 1st Round Pick, added to LC round
  122. 2nd- 4th
  123. 3rd- 5th
  124. 4th- 8th
  125. 5th- 9th
  126. 6th- 12th
  127. Conso Winner- $50 FAAB
  128. Conso Runner Up- $15 FAAB
  129.
  130. 9B. The League Champion gets a Draft Pick at the end of League Champion round which happens after the 7th Round and before the 8th. You will get this pick every year after you win. There can only be 12 picks in the League Champion Round. If an additional League Champion will make 13 Draft Picks in the round the oldest League Champion will lose his pick. If a League Champion retires the franchise will lose its League Champion Draft Pick. These picks cannot be traded, used in Auctions, or docked.
  131.
  132. 9C. The League Champion gets to name the league the following year. He will also name the team with the worst regular season record of returning Owners. That Owner has to keep that team name until the playoffs start.
  133.
  134. 9D. The 3 division winners will Draft the teams in their divisions for the next year. The best record gets to choose what pickset they want with the next best record choosing next out of 1st/6th/7th, 2nd/5th/8th, or 3rd/4th/9th. They need to choose which region(east/west/central) when they make their first pick. They will also get to name their divisions for the following year.
  135.
  136. --10. OTHER--
  137. 10A. Henry and I will decide most rule changes. The league will vote on some rule changes. Minor rule changes can go through quickly, but bigger stuff generally needs a year. If you don't agree with one of our changes let us know you go through the rule 10C process.
  138.
  139. 10B. The appeals committee can protest any rule changes that does not involve governing/organizing the league(such as updating your Minor League thread or renaming Prospect picks) or changing/cutting a rule because it's too confusing for you all.
  140.
  141. -Official Owners that aren't LMs are in the committee. I will post rule changes in the League Rules thread. If you want to appeal you need to make a thread and get every Owner in the appeals committee to vote. Owners need to vote whether they are for the change, against the change, or abstaining from the vote. If there is an Owner not voting to affect the process they might be docked. If the Owner appealing a chance can't get half the committee to vote quickly then it'll be ignored. If there is a 75% or better vote against the rule change it won't go through. Repealed rules will need to pass through a majority vote to go through in the future.
  142.
  143. 10C. You are not an official Owner until you've been in the league for half a baseball season. You do not get to vote on rule changes or be in the appeals committee until you're an official Owner. I can veto your trades and basically interfere with anything you're doing until then. I will not usually interfere with your managing.
  144.
  145. 10D. If you're a repeat offender I will penalize you harder than other people. If you follow the rules and don't make my life difficult I will probably dock you less.
  146.
  147. 10E. Don't impersonate people with your team names. If you do I might change your name to something that amuses me or dock you if it happens a bunch.
  148.
  149. 10G. You play each team at least once, 1 team twice depending on how you did last year in the regular season, and each team in your division 3 times.
  150.
  151. --11. Draft--
  152. 11A. You have 7 hours to pick for the Prospect Rounds, first 7 MLB rounds and the Supplemental Rounds. You'll get 5 hours to pick for the MLB League Champion round til the end of the Draft. Time limits don't count from 3am EST to 8am EST against your pick timer unless you've been skipped because of time. Your Draft timer will go down 2 hours for each time you get skipped because of time. You will get at least 1 hour to Draft.
  153.
  154. 11B. You can change your pick within 5 minutes if nobody else has picked. You cannot edit out your pick or delete your post.
  155.
  156. 11C. We will skip you if you pick out of turn, pick a Player that is already owned, or have a full roster. You can make up these picks at any time, but you'll be skipped until you make up all your picks. If you're online and your pick comes up when you have a full roster, I can give some time for you to try to trade it. If the Draft comes to the end you lose any skipped picks you didn't make up.
  157.
  158. 11D. You have to pick up the Player you've Drafted. You also need to list the pick number when Drafting.
  159.
  160. 11E. You need to take all Players off the DL by the Keeper Deadline and cannot put Players on your DL until after the Drafts. This means you need to take any Players on the DL from last year off the DL.
  161.
  162. 11F. If you have back to back picks you only get the time you'd get for 1 pick.
  163.
  164. 11G. If you're making an LC round pick you can fancy it up as it pleases you because you're a Champion and fuck the scrubs
  165.
  166. --12. Draft ORDERS--
  167. 12A. MLB/Prospect Rounds- They are Snake Drafts. The order is determined by last season's results. The first 6 picks are randomized from the teams that missed the playoffs. The last 6 picks are randomized from the teams that made the playoffs.
  168.
  169. 12B. Supplemental Rounds- I will randomize the Draft order with it weighted 2 to 1 toward the teams that missed the playoffs for each round then repeated.
  170.
  171. --13. FOREIGN PLAYER AUCTIONS--
  172. 13TLDR. Most of FBA stuff is procedural and on my end. You can participate without reading the rules by just doing what I tell you to and you shouldn't have any issues.
  173.
  174. -I will run the FPAs with Henry and Ron's input if needed. They will be the first thing we do in the offseason as soon as everyone has checked in. These will be the first thing we do after checking in and should go quickly.
  175.
  176. 13A. Nominating Players
  177. There will be 0-3 foreign Players auctioned off. If we nominate more than 3 Players there will be a poll to decide which 3 get auctioned off.
  178.
  179. If you think a foreign Player should be auctioned, post him the foreign Player nomination thread. A Player will need 5 other Owners to agree with the nomination to move on.
  180.
  181. Generally I'd like ppl to only aim at what would be considered a top 3 pick in the Prospect Draft or older MLB ready Players. I can automatically put a Player through to the Auctions or deny a Player gets auctioned.
  182.
  183. All Players auctioned off will be Prospect eligible.
  184.
  185. 13B. Auctioning Process
  186. We will be doing 2 Blind Auctions to determine who wins each Player.
  187.
  188. Before the bidding end date you will be able to change your bid. I will cancel your bid if you trade away any assets in the bid. The best 2-5 bids that move on the 2nd Auction will have their assets locked up.
  189.
  190. You can only use 1st through 5th round picks and 1 Keeper Slot to bid with. Picks will judged by the exact pick number. I want Keeper Slots considered equal to each other and a round better than a general 1st round pick, but that will be up to the judge's discretion.
  191.
  192. Once I decide what my bid is you will send your bids to me then I will reveal the bids once time is up. Then I will select 1 to 10 judges I think will be impartial. If I select you as a judge I won't force you to follow a strict criteria when judging. I will dock you if you're trolling or targeting someone.
  193.
  194. There will be a minimum of 2 bids moving on from the first Blind Auction with a maximum of 5 depending on how many bids are close to each other. It is up to the judges what is considered close. If more than 5 bids are close the judges will eliminate the worst bids one by one to decide which are the best 5 bids. The Owners with the best bids from the first Auction can improve their original bid for the 2nd Blind Auction.
  195.
  196. The bidders will send their bids to me then I will reveal them for the judges. The judges will eliminate bids one by one to determine the best bid.
  197.
  198. --14. TRADE DEADLINE AUCTIONS--
  199. These are open forum Auctions. I will decide which teams get to put Players up for Auction with my own criteria.
  200.
  201. The Auction ends on * or if there are no bids within 24 hours. The Auction will continue past the end time until it's been 10 mins past the last bid.
  202.
  203. You can only bid one pick per bid unless it gets to a first or multiple first round picks(1st/pick, 1st/1st/pick, etc). Picks from different years or the same round have the same value.
  204.
  205. Do not post unless you're bidding or you own the Player.
  206.
  207. You cannot retract bids.
  208.
  209. --15. AUCTION QUEUE--
  210. These will use the Trade Deadline Auction Rules. Post a Player you want to put up for Auction. You can only have one Player in the queue at any time.
  211.
  212. You can pull your Player from the queue at any time. You can also change your Player.
  213.
  214. You cannot pull Players from the Auction or drop them once their Auction starts.
  215.
  216. They are 3ish day Auctions that'll end in the evening.
  217.
  218. --20. RULES CHANGES--
  219. If you're concerned me cutting a rule, changing a rule, or adding one then you can whine at me or directly go through the 10C appeals process. If you think I just need to give more time before getting rid of something you can whine at me or Henry.
  220.
  221. -20A. Cutting-
  222.
