  1. I wanted to make a team with Infernape & Scizor since i saw this two had a good synergy. Infernape carries HP electric to lure Gyarados, since it's a painful pokemon to deal with in ealry game, more than Dragonite because of intimidate and the common use of leftovers on it, and scizor can handle non-Fire moves dragonite better than it can deal with gyarados (also i figured Gyarados was used a lot more since Latias got released), while Scizor set is pretty standard.
  2.
  3. I added Tyranitar because both of them benefited from Rotom being removed, ttar is also a decent zapdos answer, the set i have allows me to be put in custap range after 2 Hydro pump and rocks from starmie (1 hydro from starmie specs) and to be hard to take down when facing Zapdos. Adamant Nature with 0 Evs OHKOes Bulky Starmies. Another interesting fact, that sread can take a non-life orb Focus blast from gengar, and has good chances to survive even after rocks. Pursuit + Crunch get rid of Starmie & Latias, Earthquake OHKOes Heatran and does great damage on Jirachi, it also catches Zapdos when it roosts.
  4.
  5. On top of that i added Latias since i lacked a fighting, water and proper electric resist, and i need thunderbolt on it since it is my only water resist on the team, otherwise suicune is too much of an issue ( i can tbolt offensive cune and trick crocune). I elected Choice specs as it gave me the possibility to deal great damage even on things like Tyranitar or jirachi and also because then i could use trick, which is an effective way to disrupt stall teams, crippling their walls so it's easier to open doors for Infernape and Scizor. I don't use Sleep talk on it mainly because i think Latias is such a good pokemon it would be a waste of potential to use it as a dedicated sleep fodder and throw a random attack, plus breloom only can come on Tyranitar, which isn't a huge problem if he's done his job (and if he didn't, it still sucks to lose Latias)
  6.
  7. After that i added rotom Scarf since i needed another ground and fighting resist/immunity, plus it benefits from the opposing tyranitar being worn down by Latias' surf, Draco or Trick, plus rotom scarf allows me to revenge kill gyarados at +1, and dragonite too with HP ice.
  8.
  9. At this point i didn't have a dedicated lead, so i added Metagross to the mix.
  10.
  11. Metagross' purpose is to be an attacking lead that always gives me something, either i prevent my opponent for setting up rocks (empoleons often opt to go for Hydro pump), either i can take one or two kills (the lead setting its rocks + something else wanting to break my sash), or trade my metagross for a pokemon that i would gladly remove to help the rest of my team, for example taking down Jirachi or Heatran is very valuable for Scizor. The moveset is pretty standard, and the EV spread allows me to creep speed all kind of metagross that are faster than Empoleon plus being faster than the oh-so common (no) Eruption Heatran (maybe stuff can be changed on this spread)
  12.
  13. Infernape is my main breaker against non-stall teams, and it's backed up by:
  14.
  15. A) tyranitar that can deal with Latias, starmie, rotom scarf, and pressure Zapdos with stealth rock and earthquake on the roost.
  16. B) Scizor that can cope with non-HPFire Gengar, trick room Bronzong, Agility Metagross and also deal with lowk key threats such as Weavile and Mamoswine. Scizor is also a very decent answer to Scarf flygon and non-HPFire Latias. On top of that i either can use this guy to sweep late game with SD & bullet punch, or to pivot with u-turn
  17. C) Latias that can resist a lot of types, basically the combo of Latias + Scizor resists every type bar Rock.
  18.
  19. After Metagross creates a double KO with explosion, i go on infernape most of the time since it'll force my opponent to reveal his counters, force a switch more often than not, and it's also the safest option because even if my opponent brings something that can beat it, i won't lose too much by switching out, in most cases.
  20.
  21. Threatlist :
  22.
  23. - Jirachi : It can really be annoying since it carries a fire move more often than not, however if he's 3 attacks physical, then he won't be as bulky as the wishprotect set, so it can be worn down by u-turns or Draco meteors on the switch, however it requires some prediction to bring infernape against it. If it's wish protect, then he will either lack body slam, iron head or fire punch, which means either tyranitar, scizor or infernape can come on it relatively safely. CM sets are threatened by Infernape but can cause trouble too. Earthquake from Tyranitar in Custap range is also an effective way to finish it (and it's especially good against the Scarf set) Every Jirachi crippled by Latias' trick, tho.
  24.
  25. - Suicune : The reason why i put Thunderbolt on Latias, Crocune must be tricked, and Offensive Cune must be thunderbolted. The CM 3 attack set can be weakened by Infernape's grass knot and killed by something else, if possible. This pokemon is a huge threat, but the team has counterplays for it.
  26.
  27. -Gliscor : Latias and Rotom are the only 2 that can drop Gliscor from full, meaning that Gliscor+Tyranitar is an issue, i considered HP Ice on my Infernape for that matter and maybe i'd make this change. Really troublesome pokemon. I have considered Ice Beam on Tyranitar for that matter but i don't know what to remove.
  28.
  29. -Dragonite : More of less the same problem than gliscor, however it doesn't regenerate, which makes it easier to deal with through the game
  30.
  31. - Dragon Dance Tyranitar : Since i don't pack Mach Punch on my Infernape, this thing can be a problem at +1 because it can take a bullet punch from Scizor, even if it can only set-up on Latias or Rotom.
  32.
  33. - Lucario : Only Rotom blocks it at +2, again i could put Mach Punch on Infernape to deal with it, and to be honest i had it recently, but then again, gyara's an issue.
  34.
  35.
  36. Changes i considered :
  37.
  38. - Putting back Mach punch on Ape instead of HPElectric because it's better overall
  39. - Will-o-Wisp on rotom instead of Shadow ball, but idk if it's a good idea
  40. - Taking away Grass Knot on Ape so i can have Mach punch + HP Ice/Electric
  41. - Giving Stealth Rocks to Metagross and play Tyranitar with 4 attacks, however i don't like this one because i want metagross to score kills and because Tyranitar puts more pressure on Starmie, aka the most common spinner by far.
