68. Why do you want to be a LS-RP Tester?
69.
There's a plethora of reasons for why I'd like to become a Tester on Los Santos Roleplay. I'll write them below in sections, just like I did on my previous applications to make it easier for you all to read.
70.
71. Helping out
72. I love to help. Whether that be helping players that are new to the server, or veterans, it doesn't matter. I pride myself on being a helpful person and I feel that I am generally approachable. Throughout my time on LS:RP, I've always done my best to help out in whatever way I can. I have found myself more recently receiving PM's relating to certain teams I'm involved in, such as property and company, with players unsure on certain aspects. I'm always happy to reply to those people as soon as I can with the information that they require. Being a tester, I'd be able to do this on a larger scale, both in game and on the forums.
73.
74. Helping the server progress
75. I feel that by becoming a tester and being able to participate in development testing sessions, as well as having the ability to provide my input on forwarded suggestions, and to even forward them myself, will allow me to help the server in the long run. I've always had an interest in the gamemode and how things are done behind the scenes, but unfortunately whenever I sat down to try and learn the language itself, I hit a brick road. I guess I'm just not talented that way. However, it's never killed my passion for understanding how things work, and I believe I'd be a good asset to any testing environment.
76.
77. Allowing new players to sign up
78. Another thing that really interests me about becoming an LS:RP Tester is the application process. Call me weird, but I am an absolute sucker for paper/forum work. There's something about it that I just love. I like being able to see the work that I put in benefit other people, and make a difference. What better way to get that feeling by allowing people to enter the server for the first time ever? This seems like it'd be such a self fulfilling task and I'd love to be able to do it. I often see players in Discord absolutely buzzing about submitting their application and being eager to play, and I'd love to be able to deliver the news that they're accepted in to this mad world that is LS:RP. I also love discovering new systems, and this would be no different!
79.
80. Ban evaders
81. You can call me weird again, but I love investigating things. I'd take a lot of pride in being able to follow up on a lead to eventually find someone who is playing when they shouldn't be. I think that'd be a very satisfying feeling to have. I love things that are data driven.
82.
83. Extra responsibility and the opportunities for progression
84. Ever since I returned to full activity at the very tail end of 2019, I've been actively seeking extra responsibility here on LS:RP. I love taking on new projects and new challenges, and applying my all to them. I'll explain more about what I've been doing in a later question. I for one love the fact that within the Tester team, there's a lot of responsibilities and extra tasks that you can pick up, along with being a tester in general. You can then progress in to forum moderation, and senior forum moderation, and eventually in to the Tester-Admin scheme. This is of course a long way away, but it is one of my motivations for wanting to join the staff team.
85.
86. Next to the other applicants, what makes you more qualified than others?
87.
I'd say that my 10 years of experience on LS:RP makes me more qualified than others, along with the several positions I already hold here on LS:RP. I'm not two minutes in the door, I understand how the gamemode and the community work. I know a lot of people here and get on with the majority of them. I'm very confident in my abilities to perform the tasks I have already, and I'm confident that I'll be able to perform any new ones given to me if accepted.
88.
89. Have you ever been in trouble with staff members or in general on LS:RP?
90.
I wouldn't say I've ever been in trouble with any staff members. I submitted a staff report about 7 years ago on an administrator, but nothing came of it. I can't even remember who it was on at this point.
91.
92. As for in general on LS:RP, I do have an extensive admin record. This was from 2010-2014 when I didn't take things as seriously. I can assure you all now that this is no longer the case. I'm really proud of myself in the way that I've cleaned up my act, and I plan on continuing like this.
93.
94. Explain any admin jails/bans you've received the last 8 months
95.
I was admin jailed 6 months ago in October for unrealistic flying of a plane. I hadn't logged on to LS:RP in probably over a year and decided to hop on early one morning. There was around 25 players online and I decided to hop in to my beagle and fly around over Idlewood. Looking back, incredibly dumb of me. I was heading back to the airport to despawn my Beagle and log off when I was admin jailed. Completely accept this one, I was at fault!
96.
97. Apart from the above admin jail, I have not been punished on LS:RP since 2014.
98.
99. Do you have any projects related to LS:RP, or have you contributed towards LS:RP? If yes, elaborate.
100.
I don't have any projects related to LS:RP, however I actively contribute in several LS:RP teams, listed below.
101.
102. Company Team Public
103. I was the first member of the community who wasn't in the staff team to join Company Team Public. While in the company team, I've actively contributed to every single application discussion. I've forwarded the majority of the company applications, handled the majority of the application decision postings, and handled the majority of the company requests. I also created the Company Team Spreadsheet, which we use to better keep track of when company update days are due. This makes making sure that company owners are staying on top of their updates and providing valuable roleplay to the server. I've also been responsible for forwarding multiple queries from company owners and unsuccessful company applicants for review.
104.
105. Faction Team Public
106. While this is not an LS:RP team, I thought it'd be worth mentioning. I joined FTP when I came back to LS:RP and have been doing my best since to actively contribute to topics in the board, when I believe my input is valuable.
107.
108. Other Games Moderators
109. Whilst this section is mainly inactive, I have tried to ramp up activity by posting in sections that I actually play the games for. I also was one of the first members on the new Other Games discord server. I actively archive spambot topics in this section as it's one of the more frequently hit sections. I was also an Other Games Moderator back in 2014 when the section was pretty active under KEG's rule.
110.
111. Outreach Team
112. The opportunity to join the Outreach Team was only recently opened up to non-staff, however I dove in right away and applied. I had even contacted Dropper prior to this to express my interest in helping out in any way I could, even if it didn't mean joining the team. I actively participate in the section and do my best there.
113.
114. Property Team Public
115. I was actually responsible for Property Team Public becoming a thing. I was speaking to Marauder and noted the lack of moderation in the classified section. The team was originally intended to be purely moderation based for that section, but it developed in to much more. I believe I'm able to say that I am without a doubt the most active member of the team. I check the Classifieds section on a daily basis, and archive all threads which are either inactive or are in violation of the local forum rules. I do my best to keep this section tidy, and I think I'm doing a good job! I also work closely with Vert on the leasing side of things. I made a spreadsheet for the Business Leasing side of things, too, which makes monitoring activity extremely easy, and not burdensome whatsoever. It works like a charm and is rotated monthly, where I collect the dates for the next month and inform all lease holders via the business leasing section. I am responsible for reminding lease holders to post their updates to prevent lease revocation. I am not the only person in Property Team Public that can do this, but I think I'm the only one that chooses to. I actively contribute on every single discussion topic in the section, and do all I can to help out.
116.
117. Side Job Moderators
118. I joined the Side Job Moderation team about a month back I think. I participate in all of the discussion topics that crop up, and I also forward side job applications. There's not a huge amount going on with the team, but when something comes up that needs handled, I do my best to help out.
119.
120. Support Team
121. Within the Support Team, I do my best to help out on Discord and in the Q&TS forum whenever I can. I monitor this section daily too for inactive threads and other things that violate the local forum rules. I've also done some work on official guides, just small things for now. I've also tried to spark up some interest in reworking the new player experience, which I'm trying to tie in with the Outreach Team.
122.
123. In the past
124. In the past, I was a member of the Event Team. This was back in 2014. I helped organise a few events and participated in them too. I was Elton John in the gay pride event years ago, and was also a ring girl in the majorly successful UFC event that we had. I eventually was promoted to Event Team Moderator where I helped Bradley with applications and whatnot.
125.
126. I was also a member of the News Team back when that was a thing, however the team was stale and nothing really happened there. I thought it was still worth mentioning however.
127.
128. What type of roleplayer are you? And why does that interest you? (Cop/Gang/Mafia/Gov/Civilian)
129.
Right now, I roleplay as a Correctional Officer in the San Andreas Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
130.
131. I do have two criminal alts which are barely used. I've dabbled in pretty much every corner of roleplay that exists on this server. I've been a member of Government (2011, San Andreas Protection Agency), LSPD, SASD, FD, RTA. I've been in many unofficial factions too. I've always found my comfortable spot to be Cop/Correctional however.
132.
133. How long have you been playing on LS:RP:
134.
I've been on LS:RP for 10 years now.
135.
136. How long have you been role playing on SA:MP:
137.
Same as above, 10 years.
138.
139. Can and or do you map or mod? If so please post screenshots of your work. Links only.
140.
Not really. I included a small airport map I made back in 2013 in my last Tester Application however it is absolutely terrible now that I look back at it, and I have no interest in trying to learn mapping or modding at this stage.
141.
142. Have you ever been a part of a testing or development team before?
143.
I ran a small server or two with a friend back in 2011/2012 called the Life of Flying. I helped test new updates before they were made live. That's the extent, really. I have however found quite a few bugs in LS:RP, which I've always reported. I helped Toretto with testing a bug the other day too.
144.
145. Do you write and understand English fluently?
146.
Yes.
147.
148. Do you use Discord regularly?
149.
Yes.
150.
151. If no to the answer above, are you willing to? / If yes then what is your tag/name on Discord?
152.
Cashew#0619
153.
154. How many times have you applied for tester?
155.
I've applied quite a few times now, I'll list them;
156. 1st application - Thu Jul 04, 2013
157. 2nd application - Sun Dec 01, 2013
158. 3rd application - Wed Apr 23, 2014
159. 4th application - Wed Sep 03, 2014
160. 5th application - Mon Sep 11, 2017
161.
162. What common misconceptions about you do you feel others see as flaws?
163.
I like to have a joke and a laugh. Sometimes I can get pretty loud and boisterous, however I've learned to tone this down. I also get pretty emotional about things that I'm passionate about, which can cause some tense moments. I'm working on this!
164.
165. Anything extra you'd like to add?:
166.
Thanks for your consideration. If there's any more information you need, please don't hesitate to get in touch with me.
