i remember being fascinated with
matches when i was five or so but i also
remember my mom saying no sam you
can't touch the matches remember mawmaw
you know those purple marks on her arms
those are burn marks from when she
messed with the jack o lanterns as a kid
it was awful shes still glad it didn't touch
her face and i'm reminded of the one
burn victim in my seventh grade phys ed
class with horrible disfiguration and
to this day i struggle to put that visage on
my god fearing grandmother kissing me on the cheek
