A strange numbness vied to wash away the suffering. Sima wouldn't even feel the tendrils exuding mana as vivid imagery was cast upon his sights by Iyatorr. The changing nature of his very body and soul could have been enough to make him vulnerable, but recent events?

To the untrained eye the two were simply speaking privately, ignoring them, nothing ever quite visible, ever quite audible.

He was given the sights of a tired man, a grin upon his visage standing upon an unidentifiable mound. A look of serenity, of peace, upon his brow as he stared out.

Children could be heard laughing and something far above in the darkness stirred, reaching down with undulating ganglia to make contact. Yet he wasn't pressed to feel afraid, not quite.. it wasn't fearsome, but welcoming.

As if he'd always belonged, somehow.

And then the man felt his body get brought to a stand, to give an answer to the visitors.

His feet were light, but his steps were heavy, creating a curious contrast as Soma Boldiszar stormed up the stairs into the hall of Avalon's seat of power. Roland was present, but he wasn't acknowledged, the poor hard working man. The boy pushed right passed him.

"Adjudicator!" he calls forward, his face twisted in a dark shadow of wrath. "Adjudicator, I apologize for the abrupt entrance, but I MUST know what is being done! Are we sending forward demands for the demon witch's head!? What-"

He paused, seeing the state Sima was in, boggling vacantly...If anything, it seemed to further incense the young man. "What- What is the meaning of this!?" he demanded.

Chaos was inevitably going to happen, if the facts were true. Facts Chi She wasn't really aware of, but he could deduce something fucked was going on. A little whispers from Roland would allow the lad to be informed of some things while he was away.

The doctor turned pale at this sliver of information. His heart quite literally skipped a beat as his stomach spasms.

"Sima Kang, I've been informed ... That something dire occurred. I was in the area but ..."

Regent Chi She took a few steps forward, as to have a better look at Adjudicator. His body straight, but gestures somewhat frantic. This was definitely a stressful moment.

"Is it true? What happened? Have my people done something to be involved in this issue?"

The vomit-stained Adjudicator lives in a haze. Blearily eyeing the regent.

"Shut-- I'm not-- Iyatorr, I don't... Later. Later. Later is fine. I need, I need--"

Fuck, fuck, fuck, you're embarrassing yourself. That's something to cling to. He practically /shouts/ himself back to awareness. He's felt... Worse, than Iyatorr in this room.

"I'm, sorry. Soma. Chi. He's dead. He was killed. He was killed by the Gehennan. By the witch. And she's gone. To return to her maniac husband. She-- She wasn't, a prisoner. She could have just left. She killed him."

He staggers forwards. One step. Just one. Left standing uneven.

"He was wonderful. He gave me my life. He blessed me. He. Was. Important, to everyone. To everyone. Chi She."

He blinks rapidly as if waking. Another step away from the cloaked man.

"The meeting. Tonight. I'm-- I threatened, your Qilin, and, I pray I haven't fucked it up. I haven't ever felt so--"

Iyatorr smiles beneathe the darkness of the hood. Gravity aided Sima's posture, his numbness fading to make way for progress.

What he did not expect, was to see Sima in such a pathetic state. Not pathetic in a condescending manner, no. He was broken man, having lost his comrade whom he was ready to give his own life for. The Regent could only recall that day he sought to defend Ardent. The day he saw Sima as this man willing to die for any of his beloved comrades.

A man far too good for the burden of leadership.

"... Fuck ..."

He muttered under his breath, with both confirmation of what was told, and more information to be. Something in Chi's mind was running, once Oyaotl was brought up. Something that made him feel as much dread as Sima did.

"It's fine, it's fine. Just, if you didn't harm them, it's understandable. Just ..."

A few more steps forward, but he does not dare to be at arm's reach of the Adjudicator. Hesitant gestures followed, before he dropped it.

"... I'm so sorry, Sima. Fuck ... Istvan... He did not deserve this. He sought to improve her, to free her of this chaotic crap. And it's ..."

An inhale, his gaze lowered in shame.

"It's my fault. I ... I brought up Xomac, which likely triggered this. I should have been more considerate, I just. Tsk. I was angry, that she was allowed in. I didn't think. And now ... Fucking savage. FUCK."

Soma was not so lenient. "What is the MATTER with you!?" he demands of Sima Kang, the boy was dozens of inches and years short but seemed completely blind to this. "What pitiful mewling is this!? You are the Adjudicator of Avalon, and a grown man!"

The young man pauses to breathe for a moment, giving a very hasty bow of the neck toward Che She. "Jianghu's elected, I presume. It's - a pleasure to meet you, but-"

Stepping forward once again, he gave Iyatorr a withering glare. "The only FUTURE I accept is one where Xomac Tepin and Oyaotl are put in the ground like the animals they are!

The Qilin Arbiter was unamused, leading her quickly formed group through Avalon. She had been rude with the people outside, but she was seething. One of her own, one of the exalted, threatened? It was unacceptable, something she could not stand for.

However, upon entering the throne room she felt the sadness. The sense of loss, she understood that emotions, tensions were high. She quickly calmed herself, taking deep breaths and approaching the pair of Sima and Chi.

"My condolences," she said, bowing her head out of respect, "however, I have heard some things... I don't mean to take away from whatever this is about, but I can not stand for one of the exalted being threatened, a death threat at that."

She sighed.

"I realize that emotions are high, that someone who were close to died, but this... This won't work, Adjudicator, not if you are threatening one of the Qilin with death. However, I understand it might havebeen out of rage, an apology might be in order, not that I think he will accept..."

She didn't want to come in too strong, but this was the reason she came to begin with, as well as to look for Chi. She nodded to him, frowning.
