	LawfulNice	It has been a strange day for everyone. There have been odd power problems - not really surprising ones, though. The base had been constructed in great haste and was starting to show its age, and the size made upkeep difficult.
	David_Fournier	Strange day indeed, things are happening and there is only one person who can be trusted in this god-forsaken place to be spoken with. Well, more or less trusted. David unusually gets out of his mechanical hermit's hideaway and heads for Ace's office.
	David_Fournier	clangs on the door. Er, knocks.
	Acenath_Chevalier-Massri	sighs melodramatically as her computer dies again, and reclines in her big villain chair. She calls out cheerfully. "Come in!"
	David_Fournier	The armored man-boy-thing walks in, aaaand it is already awkward, how should he even greet her, again? He just nods "Commander."
	David_Fournier	"This a good time?"
	Acenath_Chevalier-Massri	"It's always a good time David!" She smiles broadly, beckoning him in.

	David_Fournier	Right, he does so, the helmet even faces downwards a little as he advances "I did-" pause "-There is something I'd like to report."
	Acenath_Chevalier-Massri	nods, glancing at her computer screen with a quick frown. "Go on."

	David_Fournier	"During our last mission we encountered Taro Sato... He's either with the Americans or entered the terrorist business. But I've got reason to believe he might have gotten angry at us when we blew up his new Eva."
	David_Fournier	"...He seems to be doing fine. Still an antisocial sociopath."
	Acenath_Chevalier-Massri	seriouses up, pulling her chair forward.
	Acenath_Chevalier-Massri	"It'd be nice if he were to try and communicate with us rather than being so... petty. You didn't deploy with your Evangelion, yes?"
	David_Fournier	stiffens a bit "They did, Smith brought him down. I merely confirmed it was him in the plug since I don't have mine yet... actually that was a thing I wanted to ask about."
	Acenath_Chevalier-Massri	nods, indicating for him to continue.
	David_Fournier	"Figuring it is still not too much trouble, it would be... more secure if Iwo-Jima were operational."
	David_Fournier	"...It is fine if new Unit makes that unnecessary, just wanted to ask if that was the case."
	Acenath_Chevalier-Massri	"If you want to pilot, then sure." Ace smile encouragingly. "I feel a bit of a warlord with all these Evangelions, but, if you'd be happy piloting the thing once in a while, then of course."
	David_Fournier	"Not if it is any trouble, it can move but that wont'-"
	David_Fournier	gets his bearings and nods "-Great then.... I just thought it was scrapped as an idea since its been there sitting for a while and then this new Eva showed up out of nowhere."
	David_Fournier	"Am I allowed to ask about that?"
	Acenath_Chevalier-Massri	"Of course you are. It's from China. Sara 'felt' it so had to rescue it. I haven't recieved any upset phonecalls about it yet so either they do not know it is gone, or have not traced it back to us yet."
	David_Fournier	Felt. Huh. "...I see. Does it have a pilot, then?"
	Acenath_Chevalier-Massri	"Yes. /Lanse/." Ace puts emphasis on the pronounciation. "Also Chinese, of course."
	David_Fournier	hears something else entirely "He's blue?-" oh wait, Chinese. "-Ah, right. That is sensible."
	David_Fournier	"Well that was all."
	Acenath_Chevalier-Massri	"Yes. Blue too. Sara of course, understandably, made a fuss over that."
	David_Fournier	"It is kind of poor in taste to name people jokingly like that, to say the least."
	David_Fournier	"People aren't objects to make jokes or references about their names."
	David_Fournier	only slightly emphasizes 'people'.
	Acenath_Chevalier-Massri	shrugs. "He's artificial. The Chinese may have wanted to use him for Dummy Plugs after they tested him out. I'll investigate, but I doubt it's important now."
	David_Fournier	"Right, apologies about that. It isn't your fault."
	Acenath_Chevalier-Massri	"Oh I know. He'll be treated as any other pilot." Ace smiles. "You should go and see him, he's quite nice. Naiive, obviously."
	David_Fournier	Naive. Maybe that's good "I might."
	Acenath_Chevalier-Massri	"I hope you do. Can you look at the power systems first, though?"
	Acenath_Chevalier-Massri	turns her (dead) monitor to face David.
	Acenath_Chevalier-Massri	"You're good at these things."
	David_Fournier	"Would that be a good idea?" He's not so sure about the first part "Oh, sure, I'd be glad to." he crosses what's left of the distance and leans to look closer at the screen "Have you tried restarting the device? No, of course you did, may I have the keyboard?"
	Acenath_Chevalier-Massri	hands over the keyboard. "It kept turning off and on for a while, and then stopped working entirely." She reaches down to tap the power key a few times.
	David_Fournier	"That's... probably not good. Doing that, I mean. It could just be a factor of the hardware - like the gravitational shifts disorganizing the insides, or even the cold - but you could end up making it worse, let me check the BIOS..." he begins to do his magic.
	David_Fournier	"Has someone else been using it? Someone that could... physically harm the device when it isn't doing its job?"
	Acenath_Chevalier-Massri	wheels her chair back so he can get at the machine.
	Acenath_Chevalier-Massri	"I doubt it."
	David_Fournier	"Mm. I could do an extensive check in a few minutes if I hook up to it... um, excuse me." he pretty fists the back of the case.
	David_Fournier	pretty much fists*
	David_Fournier	"I wish I had an USB port sometimes."
	Acenath_Chevalier-Massri	laughs. "Yes, well. What are you wanting to do in regards to further augmentative proceedures? More android or less?"
	David_Fournier	"I... well, I guess I a few more gadgets would be practical. Or a more extravagant tool, like an additional arm, pincers or something to that effect."

	Acenath_Chevalier-Massri	frowns. "I suppose, if that's what you /really/ want."
	David_Fournier	He doesn't respond immediately "...I think I've found it, I'm resetting the OS to a previous instance just in case."
	Acenath_Chevalier-Massri	"Sure."
	David_Fournier	"Nothing that isolating troublesome clusters doesn't fix, I just had to have a look at dummy data. Its funny how much this works like genetic engineering at times, you know, introns and exons."
