- 6x10 & 6x11 Chain of Command - Cardassian lore, not directly connected to DS9 but a VERY good and oft-memed episode that establishes how shitty the Cardassians are
- * 6x16 & 6x17 Birthright - direct crossover with DS9, Bashir/Data bromance, Worf character development/backstory
- 6x23 Rightful Heir - Klingon lore, introduction of Kahless, who is occasionally referenced, but never seen, in DS9
- * 6x24 Second Changes - introduces Thomas Riker, arc continued in DS9

- 7x07 Dark Page - Lwaxana backstory, skippable and not referenced in DS9, but a very powerful, absolutely pitch dark episode
- 7x15 Lower Decks - Minor Cardassian lore, VERY powerful episode, watch "The First Duty" before this
- 7x21 Firstborn - Minor Klingon lore, Alexander/Worf development
- 7x22 Bloodlines - continues arc from "The Battle", minor Ferengi lore, not referenced in DS9
