The First Gold Pot of the Realm of the Gods
“You uh… ah… “
All of Hanyi’s fingers were clenched so tightly they changed shaped (deformed). His voice became hoarse and weak to the point of becoming unintelligible. Although he had been poisoned for less than 10 seconds, his entire body had changed color and his eyes were bloodshot.
“Thank you so much for bringing me here, it gives me such a good opportunity and excuse for killing you. Now I can finally take away this Qilin horn without any guilt. In fact, to show how generous I am, I will tell you two important things.”
“First.” Yun said as he squinted his eyes. “Master bestowed Mu Feixue upon me because of a special reason. Even if you become her personal disciple, master still would never have given you Feixue. To say that I robbed Feixue from you is utter nonsense.
“Uh… ah!” Hanyi’s mouth gaped open wide. Copious amounts of blood flowed from his mouth. Many of his teeth dissolved under the highly toxic effects of the dragon toxin.
“Secondly”. Yun Che squatted down to get more close and personal with Hanyi. The Dragon toxin now coursing through your body was given specifically to me by master before my departure. Maybe you can guess why master would allow me to come to Ice Wind Empire alone and give me such a powerful toxin at that time?
“….” Hanyi’s curled body suddenly stiffened as he gave into the darkest despair and panic of his life.
“Hm!” “You thought that your performance was so flawless. But Master has been King for thousands of years. Even one as smart as me has to obey her every rule down to the letter, what hope do you have of fooling her?”
“Even if I really had died here today, things still would not have gone according to your plan. Master would not have received you as her personal disciple. Instead you would only suffer an even worse death!”
Hanyi’s mouth opened and closed but he was incapable of speech. His body was on the verge of total failure and even the spasms were becoming more and more spaced out.
“You even gave me such a useful piece of advice. Now I know that all I need to do to access the Qilin horn is to use your blood. Otherwise I might have needed to waste some effort on acquiring it,” Yun Che sneered.
 “….” The toxin had taken it’s final hold upon Hanyi’s body. All 5 of his senses were darkening and in fact, Hanyi did not even hear the last few words Yun Che had spoken. His body gave a final twitch and then was still.
Under the Dragon Toxin, Hanyi lay at death’s door.
At this point, Yun Che reached out with his left hand and began purifying Hanyi’s body. Throughout the entire body, every bit of poison was purified without leaving a trace.
Standing up, Yun Che took a final glance at Hanyi’s body. With a heavy sigh, he said “Such a fearful person.”
At this moment, he recalled Wentian.
There was no doubt Wentian was also a terribly powerful person who had almost claimed Yun Che’s life. But Hanyi wasn’t even 30 years old. If had had been allowed the same amount of time to cultivate as Wentian had, he would doubtlessly had become much stronger.
Unfortunately, he’ll never get that chance.
Yun Che fully understood why Mu Xuanyin had intended to accept Hanyi as her personal disciple because his indomitable character was more suitable than Feixue.
However, since Xuanyin ended up choosing Yun Che, then naturally this created a risk for Yun Che.
She wanted Yun Che to come to Ice Wind not only to test if he had the wits and resources to take the Qilin horn by himself, but she also wanted to test to see how he would handle Hanyi.
Yun Che did not know when the constraining field triggered by Hanyi would dissipate. He also didn’t want to expend any effort on trying. Instead after taking a deep breath, Yun Che stretched out with both hands.
Left hand glowed with ice while the right hand blazed with fire.
Yun Che closed his eyes and quickly concentrated. After experiencing such a rise in cultivation level Yun Che could focus much faster than before. The ice-cold laws which should have been repelled by the blazing fire instead intertwined and complemented each other in defiance of the natural order.
After a period, Yun Che opened his eyes, an icy flame burned on the palm of his hand.
His fire element had been growing steadily for a long period of time, and now with the blood he had received from his master, his ice element had also received a large boost. Yun Che slowly lifted the ice flame, “This is almost my limit, it should be enough!”
The ice flame advanced and touched the barrier.
Without any sound, the ice flame burned a hole through the profound barrier.
The entire array trembled and with a resounding violent crack and the array fragmented.
Yun Che swept his surroundings. He considered Hanyi’s original plan of framing him. After deliberating it shortly, he gave up on this idea. This might have worked for Hanyi, but it wouldn’t work for him. Also, although Hanyi’s body had been purified, there was no way to disguise the damage that had been done when Hanyi’s body had been ravaged by the poison.
It appears like I’ll have to move Hanyi’s out and dispose of it afterall. Otherwise, they might really think I was the Qilin thief because I am the only person Hanyi might have brought into the treasury.
Because both Hanyi and the Qilin horn would both simultaneously vanish, Yun Che could blame Hanyi as the thief. As for the reason why Hanyi would steal the horn, let the others take their guesses.
Yun Che did not immeaditely go to collect Hanyi’s corpse. Yun Che turned around and looked at the bright crystals in front of him.
These crystals were the common currency of the spirit world. Yun Che was actually quite poor coming to the Realm of the Gods. In the Ice palace, every month they only had an allowance of 5 thousand crystals. After becoming Mu Xuanyin’s disciple, he didn’t even have any money left at all.
After assuring himself that the protective array had completely dissipated, Yun Che strode forward confidently and began looting all the treasures. Although he was unable to judge the quality of all the treasures on the spot, they must still be incredibly precious to end up in the treasury of the Ice Wind Empire.
Yun Che then changed direction and swept up all manners of medicinal pills, elixers, etc.
This was just a small corner of the treasury, but Yun Che was not too greedy. Afterall, there are probably many traps hidden throughout the treasury. If Yun Che isn’t careful, he might trigger something, then the potential consequences would be terrible.
Now possessing large amounts of crystals (money), Yun Che relished in the feeling of being wealthy again.  Yun Che finally returned to Hanyi’s body. Under Yun Che’s power, part of Hanyi’s body broke apart into pieces and dissolved into dark red beads that congregated near Yun Che’s fingertips.
Yun Che then slowly came to stand in front of the Qilin Horn.
Since this was a national treasure, it was also naturally protected by an extremely powerful protective array. Even if he used the full might of his ice-flame, Yun Che was not confident he could destroy or even damage the barrier. Instead Yun Che looked down and flicked his hand to throw Hanyi’s blood upon the formation seal.
When the blood beads touched the formation, the seals flashed and released a red light. At the same time, an opening slowly opened.
Once it was completely opened, the treasure of Ice Wind Empire which had existed for more than 80,000 years was laid bare before Yun Che’s eyes.
“It seems like Ice Wind Empire has some very high-quality treasures ah,”
Yun Che sighed as he floated forward and lightly touched the corner of the Qilin horn.
It was extremely hard to the touch, without any variance in temperature. It wasn’t even cold as expected. Instead it gave off an ancient and mysterious feeling.
But of course now was not the time to explore the mysterious properties of the Qilin. Instead, in the flash of an eye, Yun Che stored the horn inside the Sky Poison Pearl.
At the moment the Qilin horn entered the Sky Poison Pearl, a mysterious gas suddenly bellowed out from underneath. “This is bad!”

The pillar below the Qilin horn blasted a mysterious light into the sky along with a thunderous clang. Simultaneously, all the protective arrays guarding the treasury activated at the same time in a dazzling firework and alarms shrieked loud enough for people hundreds of miles away to be notified.
“Fuck!” Yun Che swore as his brow sunked. The Qilin had not only been guarded by an extremely strong profound array, but it had also been protected by another mechanism. As soon as the horn left the pedestal, the trap had been triggered.
Yun Che bit heavily on his teeth. Ice Wind Empire really put a lot of thought into their defense of the Qilin Horn ah!
Undoubtedly not only the Ice Wind Empire knew that the treasury had been robbed, but probably all of the imperial city had heard the alarms. Soon a large number of guards including the elite royal protectors would be on their way.
“There should still be some time!”
Hanyi had previously said, the only one who could possibly enter through the front entrance was him. Yun Che reasoned that he still had time to leave discreetly through the back.
Yun Che quickly calmed down and turned around to swept up Hanyi’s corpse.
But now of turning, he suddenly faltered, and all his hairs stood on end.
The ground where Hanyi had previously laid was laid bare with only a small blood stain.
Mu Hanyi’s body had vanished!
This was no trivial surprise and the shock traveled straight up Yun Che’s spine.
“Who is it? Who is here?!”
If Yun Che had left the Dragon Toxin in Hanyi’s body, then it might really have dissolved his body into nothingness, but Yun Che had specifically purified the poison afterwards…. No matter what, the body shouldn’t have just vanished!
From beginning to end, Yun Che had not detected the presence of anybody else.
Nobody answered Yun Che’s call. Not even an echo was heard.
The guards outside could come bursting in at any moment. Yun Che clenched his teeth and according to his memory, fled the scene with all haste.
The door he remembered did not close, Yun Che quickly passed through although his teeth remain clenched.
There was somebody else in the treasury! In fact it was somebody of terrifying might who he had not detected at all!
If he had been there the whole time, then everything I had done, including the powers of the Sky Poison Pearl had all been laid bare for him to see?!
Why was he in the treasury?! Why did he take Hanyi’s corpse?!
