- 1. People buy Macs because they are almost at the par with Windows laptops. Plus, it also makes sense to people who already are deep in Apple's Ecosystem.
- 2. This is how I started my point. You spent way too much on a device which only does job of a $500 laptop, at best.
- You are defending Chromebooks as if I insulted you because you purchased one. So let me say one last time, I did not.
- All I said that Chromebooks are not worth $750 let alone $1000.
- Ask a rational man what would he buy for a similar price,
- Device A = Chrome + Optional Linux, Or
- Device B = Chrome + Optional Linux + Windows + seemingly better internals too, bigger storage is one good example.
- "Linux apps are still usable and have a great selection of apps/software to work with too."
- Linux apps are way inferior than the apps available on Windows/MacOS. Your example of LibreOffice clearly shows this. Lack of Video Games, Adobe apps (I think so), etc.
- "if you want simplicity dont enable linux its simple as that. its not like they enable that by default. same with android apps."
- Same thing applies to Windows, you can enable them whenever you desire.
- "what would i want to throw Microsoft my $100 and then use linux on it?"
- just like you are throwing $750 on ChromeOS and using linux on it, then why not throw Linux along with Windows then?
- "would you go to grocery shop and buy things you need and throw $100 at cashier for things you didnt buy? thats the whole point."
- Actually, this is what I'm trying to say to you. You are purchasing goods worth much less but giving out more money to cashier as a tip.
- I hope I made my point. Regards and Goodbye!
