DOOM THREAD FAQ

Q: I know how to launch GZDoom/Zandronum and change games, but how do I load these new wads I have?
A: Drag them on to the executable or use ZDL

Q: Where do I get IWADS? / What are IWADS?
A: DL the IWAD pack. / The files included in the IWAD pack.

Q: I have Zandronum, how do I connect to the /vr/ servers?
A: Open doomseeker (Should come with Z&ro) and double click the server name, insert pass, and wait for it to DL WADS.

Q: What's cyberrunner? / Where can I download cyberrunner?
A: Cyberrunner is a "parkour" project that a guy on /vr/ has been working on for a few weeks. / Connect to a CR server or download from GitHub http://bit.ly/Z79oC8

Q: What's DoomKart? / Where can I get DoomKart?
A: DoomKart is basically MarioKart in DOOM. / Connect to a DoomKart server. They aren't up much as it is still in heavy development, no other downloads as far as I know.

Q: Where are some good places to get PWADS?
A: You can get them at the Doomworld idgames/ archive and on the ZDoom forums. Google them.

Q: Where do I get started with making maps?
A: Get doombuilder 2. Chubzdoomer has some good Doombuilder2 tutorials, however they are a bit dated. The ZDoom wiki has some good ACS tutorials.

Q: Where do I get started with making weapons/enemies/etc?
A: ZDoom wiki has many, many DECORATE tutorials. Download SLADE 3 and make a new wad, then add files as needed. There may be some tutorials around.

Q: What's in the mega pack? / What's in the DOOM pack? / What's in the IWAD pack?
A: A truckload of WADS, everything required to play and handy little batch files to run it all. / Everything required to play and a bit more, if I'm not mistaken. / All the IWADS required to play. Nothing else.
(For the mega pack, download latest GZDoom SVN version and drag it into the gzdoom folder, or it will not work.)

Q: There's some people shitting up the thread! Let's put them in their place, right?
A: Don't. /vr/ has the attention span of a newborn kitten and it's stupidly easy to derail a thread for at least 100+ replies.
If someone mentions:
  * Only casuals use new features.
  * Zandronum is for babbies because shitty netcode/community/etc.
  * You only play Doom because it's free you poorfags.
  * Brutal Doom ruining the Doom community by bringing in faggots
  * Brutal Doom is the next generation of Doom and is vanilla 10.0!
  * Doom sucks, play X instead.
  * Why are you playing <Source port that isn't GZDoom/Zandro>?
  * Shitposting in general
  * (WDI/Shotgun Frenzy/SomeModThatVRIsPlaying) sucks! Stop playing that shit and play a real wad!
