  1. Todd, a socially inept teenager, and Jenn; his "annoying" little cousin that he loves dearly were sitting silently in the basement. Todd heads up the stairs and arrived in the room. His dad struggled to speak as he tells Todd that his mother died in a car wreck. In that instant, every single hope and dream Todd every had come crashing down and he contemplates; just standing. His dad, in a very obvious broken state, suggests that he break the news to Jenn. Todd stays silent for a few seconds, ponder but nods and heads back downstairs. Todd slowly made his way down the stairs downstairs. In his head, he couldn't comprehend the fact that the only person that ever truly knew and loved him was dead.
  2. Keeping himself composed and calm, he walks downstairs and tells Jenn the news, leaving completely Jenn shocked and he starts crying. Tedd walks over to Jenn and hugs him, also crying himself. After a bit, they both collect themselves and he decides to ask Jenn if he wants to come with him to "go for a walk". Jenn, obviously shaken and thrown by the sudden change in tone of the conversation, obliged and grabbed flashlights, a compass and a map. Todd watched him, letting Jenn take his time, as he knew he never planned to return.
  3. After a few hours, they find a bunker in a forest. They are unnerved by it but decide there could be something in it and was worth checking out. They open the door and are met with a ladder leading into pitch darkness. Todd climbs down first, to make sure it's safe and after arriving at the bottom, Jenn follows quickly.
  4. Todd uses one of Jenn's flashlights to brighten up the otherwise completely dark room and finds that it contains some sort of spherical apparatus, with wires leading to several other machines. While Todd is standing in the middle of the circular device, Jenn slips and falls on a level, activating it. Todd and Jenn were now far apart. Instead of giving up, however, Todd was determined to find his way back.
  5. After he exits, he finds himself in a large wheat field where he notices someone, or something, walking on a narrow path; which looked eerily similar to the path beside his farm. Todd then meets "Teddy" who turns out to be him from said alternate universe, though not human but instead an anthropomorphic bear. After overcoming how bizarre this situation is, Todd an. Teddy become extremely good friends and share a strong bond. Both of them determine that they need to figure out how Todd arrived there, and more importantly, how he can get back. The two twins make their way down the road which leads to a small village, but on their way, they meet a girl on the street, an anthropomorphic owl named Mary. Todd an. Teddy explain their situation, and how Todd is from another dimension, which unsurprisingly catches Mary off guard. After which, Mary suggests that they spend the night with her in an abandoned house.
  6. Both Teddy an. Todd are reasonably uncertain about the offer. They'd heard stories of strange beings haunting that houses, but never knew for certain what really went down or if it was just another legend. Mary insisted that there was indeed some creepy things that happened, but regardless reassured them that she had slept there before as a result of her family being "scared of her during the night". Neither Todd nor Teddy knew what she meant but they both pressed on, and though extremely anxious, and agree to stay the night.
  7. After Todd had fallen asleep, Teddy and Mary sat in the living room. Neither of them talked much except for the occasional joke. After seemingly hours of dead silence, Mary suddenly started to raise her voice and claiming that she just had an epiphany. In an instant, she went from pleasant and quiet to begging Teddy to listen and coming across as deranged. Teddy tries to play it off and they have a conversation in which she alerts Teddy of the "Crystal Arrow" and proposes a plan to kill Todd as she "doesn't know what kind of secrets he might be keeping" after which she started to ramble to herself under her breath. Teddy, obviously terrified for Todd's safely, frantically tried to explain to Mary that Todd wasn't keeping secrets but it didn't seem like Mary was actually pleased with his explanation. After a bit of awkward tension between them; Mary seemingly calmed down, stated she was going to bed and Tedd reluctantly followed.
  8. Teddy sat awake all night anticipating something bad happening. He finally started to drift off until he heard a series of footsteps outside of his room. Teddy rushed out of bed in his state of panic. He threw what little bedding he had off of him and ran to Todd's room, to discover Mary standing at the side of Todd's bed. She was staring at him with a knife grasped firmly in her hands. Teddy peeked into the room for a quick moment, saw Mary's eyes glowing a bright green and having no idea what was happening, ran into the room and attempts to tackle her but fails. Quickly, she thrusts the knife upwards towards and flung it downwards towards Todd. Teddy managed to tackle her to the ground with seconds to spare making her drop the knife. Teddy, looking into her green glowing eyes, punched her square in the face as hard as he could causing her to drop the knife and fall back onto the floor. It didn't seem to affect her though, standing up and limping towards Todd right after. Teddy, on the other hand, whilst in a state of the most intense adrenalin rush he'd ever had, picked Mary up and threw her on the floor. He caught his breath and started to ponder until noticing that the green glow in her eyes slowly started to disappear.
  9. Todd, who had just woken up midway through, just stared at Teddy and gave him a thumbs up also suggesting they go outside to talk. Teddy agrees and they leave the room. Unsurprisingly, both of them were shook. Not being able to believe that what they just experienced wasn't a dream. An overwhelming feeling of uncertainty following them. After leaving the house, Teddy recalled Mary's sudden change in behaviour and rantings about the "Crystal Arrow" also adding that she suspected that Todd was keeping secrets. Todd, though obviously shaken, jokingly suggested she was withdrawing. Teddy too shook to respond. Todd was still unsure of why Teddy had even started fighting her to begin with, so Teddy explained. This story understandably made Todd really nervous but they continued to gaze out into the distance.
  10. Re-entering the house, they both head back upstairs and find Mary sleeping. Her loud snoring proved to be annoying, so Todd decided to sleep on the floor in Teddy's room. Morning came and they went to check on Mary. They found her in the kitchen making breakfast. She immediately turned to them and her face lit up, greeting them and asking if they slept well. They both kinda mumbled. She sarcastically asked them if they were too scared to sleep. They both ignored it and sat down on the couch. Suddenly Todd spoke up. She said, straight to her face, "you tried to kill me last night." She looked over and tilted her head, confused, and asking if they had sleep paralysis. Teddy, twiddling his thumbs, looked up towards Mary and looked her dead in the eyes. Telling her, and reinforcing Todd, her glowing green eyes and seemingly sudden psychosis. Mary's eyes widened, quickly grabbing her things and leaving telling them she had to go.
  11. Todd turned around to face Teddy, as he initially thought he was just bullshitting about the glowing eyes.
  12. After leaving the house, and walking for a bit; both had calmed down, and they arrived at the local library to see if they could learn more about the "Crystal Arrow". After a bit of digging, they came across a few extremely old books and obscure books, most of which did not have authors. These books were indeed mentioning a supposed "Crystal Arrow". Apparently, it is rumoured to, under the right conditions, have the ability to transfer beings to other dimensions. This sounds like great news for Todd but they are distraught when they learn "those of which who have successfully left this dimension have yet to return."
  13. They converse for a bit until concluding that this was the only way Todd could have ended up in this universe and that the reason they "have yet to return" is because they couldn't find a way back to their own universe.
  14. After looking through books for what seemed like ages, they decide to leave and accept the inevitable adventure they were about to start. After walking throughout the city and finding little to no real usable information, Teddy decides that he should go ask some of his friends. Todd considers but is opposed to this as he isn't sure if being human would set off any red flags. Teddy insists an. Todd takes his word for it, also reassuring him that whatever Mary had going on was something else.
  15. The two make their way to one of Teddy's friend's houses and walk up to the door. Teddy suggests that Todd try to cover his face as much as usual. They knock, and after a few moments, an anthropomorphic hare answers the door. He asks Teddy if he's looking for James and he nods. The hare lets them both in and they wait inside. James, a shorter and darker-haired hare walks down the stairs and tells them to come up to his room. They make their way up and they close the door. Teddy confronts James and tells him that he can't say anything about what is about to happen. Confused, James obliges and sits down beside Todd. Teddy gestures to Todd to take his hood and scarf off and James looks on in awe, commenting that he looks like a hairless ape and politely asking what he even is.
  16. Teddy recaps the story of Todd's arrival to James, who is now even more confused, but reassures Todd that he's still acquainting himself with the situation. Todd, breaking his silence asks James about a "crystal arrow". James' face lights up as he grabs a book off his bookshelf. Todd can't help but notice he has a hole in his pants for his tail. James gives the book to Todd and tells him to read it whenever and he can take the book with him. Changing the topic, the three chat and play video games for a bit until James' dad calls James down whom returns upstairs and tells them that it's getting late and his dad wants them to leave. Todd an. Teddy head down the stairs and leave.
  17. After leaving the house, they both start slowly walking down the street as; unsure of what to do. As they walk, they pass by a school which they both decide would be a good place to ask around as legends and rumours tend to spread quite quickly in a setting where boredom is common. Though, being the night they know they'd have to find somewhere to sleep. Out of options they reluctantly head to the abandoned house as Todd is convinced that Mary wouldn't have stayed there a second night.
  18. They both approach the door an. Teddy knocks. Soon after, Teddy yells in anticipation of a response. There is no answer so they head inside and return to the room. They look around and alas there is no sign of Mary, and thusly they both head up and sleep in the same room; weary of the possibility of Mary returning. They awake the next morning unscathed an. Todd recollects a very vivid dream of Jenn returning to the house quite shaken.[1]Teddy reassure. Todd that it was just a dream but can't shake the feeling of guilt. After sulking for a bit they return on their "quest" and head to the school for more information.
  19. Todd an. Teddy approached the doors of the school, with Teddy very obviously unnerved to Todd's surprise. When asked, Teddy denies acting unusual an. Todd dismisses it. As they approach, they notice that it's seemingly abandoned; with no trace of anyone else inside. However, the doors were unlocked and the lights were on so they decided to enter anyways. Upon entering, nothing seemed out of the ordinary. That was until they found a keychain with a key attached to it. Confused, Todd picks it up and inspects it and notices an engraving on the side[2]. He ignores it as it's of no use to him until Teddy points out that each door had a number written above it. Keeping in mind the doors and numbers, both continue into the empty school. They make their way down the hallway and towards they the cafeteria; without a person in sight. As they approach the door, through the window they notice a single small bear child sitting at a table with a handheld gaming device in hand. They decide to open the door and the kid looks over as if he knew he was going to be reprimanded. His expression quickly fades as he sees Todd an. Teddy enter. He stands up and starts to walk before Teddy attempts to start small talk with the boy, which ends with the boy storming off as if avoiding contact with anyone else[3].
  20. Continuing on as if nothing happened, they continue through the school and look around not finding much.
  21. After no revelations, they decide to focus on the doors and their corresponding numbers; which leads them to the science hall, in which they find a door labelled R2040; the same as on the key. They enter the key, and to neither of their surprise, they unlock the door which leads to a lecture hall. Upon entering, a multitude of writing on the blackboard is the first thing they see as it sticks out like a sore thumb. The teacher's desk is covered in stacks of paper. Upon closer inspection, the papers seem to be journal entries from an unknown author. Todd suggests they could be writings of a schizophrenic but as they read they find nothing out of place and all the writings seem to make sense. Each day's entry seems to be several pages in length and topics seem to vary from past memories with friends to daily whereabouts. The most recent page they could find was one from several weeks prior and mentioned them succumbing to a strange urge, abruptly ending after significant explanation. One thing that strikes them as important are mentions of a "possessed spirit" in which the paper describes people "of the night". After, scavenging through papers, Teddy manages to find a wooden square with "IBI DEMVM" engraved into it. He alters Todd and decides to pocket the carving. They journey continues. Along the way they contemplate the room and their findings, as well as the small cub they encountered earlier, with a feeling of uncertainty, follows them as they trek through the school. Teddy lets Todd know that he needs to go to the bathroom an. Todd agrees that taking a break would serve them well as they were clearly mentally exhausted.
  22. The entered the bathroom and alas, two small bear paws were visible in from the stall. Teddy entered the stall beside him, unzipped his pants and took a leak. Todd stood silently beside the sink as the bear cub stepped out, not anticipating Todd. As he stepped out he looked up at Todd and just stared. Both Todd and the cub clearly not sure what to say or do. Todd pulled the scarf down from his mouth and greeted the bear, asking what his name was. After realizing that the cub was acting scared as a result of Todd not being a normal sight to behold, they finally get to know each other, they go back to the cafeteria and Jess explains that he had lost "something" but didn't know what. Todd an. Teddy then volunteer to help find whatever he's looking for and he obliges.[4]
  23. Obviously, the Teddy is shrouded in suspicion throughout the entire journey but Todd dismisses it as being socially uncomfortable explaining that, when he was young, the thought of speaking terrified him more than anything else. Teddy finds temporary comfort in Todd's explanation. After looking for a very long time, Teddy suddenly remembers the keys to the door and the artefact they had found within the room. After asking Jess about the keys, his memory "suddenly snaps back" and that was, in fact, what he was looking for. Neither of them mentioning the artefact that they had confiscated, as they were afraid it would be of use to them later on. Once they make it to the room, the keys were still in the door and Jess immediately sat down and started writing. They tried to question Jess about the papers mentioning possession but to no avail, he continued to write about meeting Todd an. Teddy and how cool they were, but once it became obvious they were reading what he was writing he quickly covered the page.
  24.
  25. [1] This will be a playable sequence in the game, where the player controls Jenn. This will be a very important story wise as it will give a reason as to why Todd wanted to run away so quickly after his mom's death. The main reason being that Todd and his stepdad had a terrible relationship. It will be made clear that their stepdad doesn't care about Todd's disappearance and is still coping with the loss of his wife by drinking and abusing substances.
  26.
  27. [2] The engraving has the markings R2040 on one side and AYFSESHVHA on the other. When decoded with the word RUNAWAY in a vigenere cypher, it reads "JESSISJENN" Jess is not literally Jenn, but the parallel universe counterpart to him. In this case, Jess doesn't know or live with Teddy as Teddy ran away when he murdered his step-father.
  28.
  29. [3]
  30.
  31. Teddy an. Todd enter the cafeteria and notice a small bear kid playing a Gameboy. The bear stands up as if to leave but Teddy tries to start small talk.
  32.
  33. TEDDY
  34. Yo.
  35.
  36. The cub stops, positioned away from the two.
  37.
  38. TEDDY
  39. Watcha doing here, cub?
  40.
  41. The boy continues walking.
  42.
  43. TEDDY
  44. We're not gonna yell at you or get you in trouble if you think that's what we're here for.
  45.
  46. The cub, about to open the door peers over his shoulder and looks at Teddy.
  47.
  48. Jess
  49. Who are you then?
  50.
  51. The boy sounds very nervous.
  52.
  53. TEDDY
  54. I'm Teddy, this is my pal, Todd. We're just checking out this place. We thought there'd be people here since it's... y'know, a school. Anyways, we're just wondering why it seems so abandon? and for that matter why you're here.
  55.
  56. They both await a response. After some silence, the cub responds.
  57.
  58. Jess
  59. I am here because... because I lost something...
  60.
  61. He starts to shake and then speeds off through the door before Teddy could question him anymore
  62.
  63. At a loss for words, they continue on as if nothing happened.
  64.
  65. [4]
  66.
  67. Todd and the bear stood face to face, both unsure of how to engage. Todd made the first move.
  68.
  69. TODD
  70. Hey.
  71.
  72. The bear looked up at Todd and trembled. Todd, noticing the fear in the bear's eyes, put his hand out offering a handshake but the bear flinched. Todd kept his hand out and the cub reluctantly shook his hand.
  73.
  74. TODD
  75. I'm Todd by the way.
  76.
  77. The cub was soft spoken.
  78.
  79. JESS
  80. I'm Jess.
  81.
  82. Todd was taken aback for a moment, then returned to a standing position
  83.
  84. Teddy audibly zips up his pants and exits the stall.
  85.
  86. TEDDY
  87. Oh hey, it's you. Nice to meet you.
  88.
  89. The room went silent for a bit, finally Jess breaking the silence.
  90.
  91. JESS
  92. Why do you look so weird?
  93.
  94. Teddy realized how stupid he was to forget Todd's unusual look.
  95.
  96. TEDDY
  97. Oh my god! How could I have forgotten!
  98.
  99. Teddy smacks his head with his hand.
  100.
  101. TEDDY
  102. Alright, Todd... well let's just say Todd isn't... well, "one of us". He's from a different... "world".
  103.
  104. Jess raises an eyebrow.
  105.
  106. TEDDY
  107. He was transported here and... well... we're trying to get him back home.
  108.
  109. Jess looks over at Todd once again, who waves.
  110.
  111. JESS
  112. Oh. That's kinda neat.
  113.
  114. Todd chimes in.
  115.
  116. TODD
  117. Ye. Your… uh... “species” is pretty neat too.
  118.
  119. TEDDY
  120. How about we leave the bathroom since this isn't the most ideal spot to explain Todd's ordeal... wanna go to the cafe?
  121.
  122. Todd and Jess nod and they proceed back to the cafe. A Very little conversation is initiated on the way, but they notice Jess seems extremely familiar with the layout of the school and exactly how to get back.
  123.
  124. Upon arriving in the cafeteria, they sit down at a table and pull up a couple of chairs.
  125.
  126. TEDDY
  127. So what are you doing here anyway?
  128.
  129. Jess looks at Todd and backs down at his Gameboy.
  130.
  131. JESS
  132. I lost something...
  133.
  134. Teddy looks at Todd, then back at Jess; still playing his Gameboy.
  135.
  136. TEDDY
  137. Lost what?
  138.
  139. JESS
  140. I'm not sure... but I remember I did.
  141.
  142. Teddy pulls in closer to Jess.
  143.
  144. TEDDY
  145. Hey... are you good?
  146.
  147. JESS
  148. I'm fine.
  149.
  150. TEDDY
  151. You want us to help you find whatever you've lost.
  152.
  153. JESS
  154. That would be desirable, yes.
  155.
  156. Teddy, bewildered by Jess' unusual attitude distances himself from Jess and moves closer to Todd who suddenly asks a question.
  157.
  158. TODD
  159. If you don't like the questions we can stop. I don't like to talk either.
  160.
  161. JESS
  162. I'm not good at talking. I don't like talking. Please, no questions.
  163.
  164. Todd looks at Teddy and places his hand on Jess' shoulder
  165.
  166. TODD
  167. Well, you heard him. We should start looking for whatever you lost.
  168.
  169. JESS
  170. Good idea.
  171.
  172.
  173. ((JESS VERY OBVIOUSLY HAS MEDIUM FUNCTIONING AUTISM. BECAUSE HE IS SO YOUNG HE COMES OFF AS STRANGE TOTEDDY. Todd, HOWEVER, HAS HIGH FUNCTIONING AUTISM, AND CAN EASILY TELL THAT HE IS UNCOMFORTABLE AND MAKES AN EFFORT TO LET JESS HAVE SOME TIME TO PROCESS WHATS HAPPENING))

  179.
  180.
  181.
  182. THIS PART OF THE SCRIPT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT BUT I DONT KNOW WHERE IN THE STORY IT FITS IN BECAUSE I NEED TO REDO THE OLD SCRIPT IN ACCORDANCE TO THE OUTLINE
  183.
  184.
  185. Todd an. Teddy are on the edge of a massive hill, exhausted-looking into the distance to see if they notice anything strange.
  186.
  187. Todd breaks the silence.
  188.
  189. Todd
  190. 10 days.
  191.
  192. Teddy looks at him, confused as to why he started a conversation.
  193.
  194. TEDDY
  195. "10 days? Wh... what are you talking about?"
  196.
  197. Todd looks away again.
  198.
  199. TODD
  200. "My life... my family... It's been ten days and we're no closer to getting me back home. Who am I kidding? What's the point in dreaming if I'm destined to fail?"
  201.
  202. TEDDY
  203. "You're not though... You are the only one who gets to- or even has the chance to chose your destiny. You can't give up now."
  204.
  205. Todd leans back, his head facing the sky.
  206.
  207. TODD
  208. To change my own destiny... would be changing something I lost grip on a long fucking time ago
  209.
  210. TEDDY
  211. Todd... you have a dream. Your dream is to go back home. What kind of brother would you be if you gave up now? You can't let that dream die! Jenn is out there! He's terrified and you bet your ass he reflects on accidentally flipping that switch every single fucking day! But he's out there. And he's waiting for you!
  212.
  213. Todd looks to Teddy.
  214.
  215. TEDDY
  216. And your mom? What would she want you to do? Just abandon Jenn with some useless prick?
  217.
  218. Todd
  219. You're right, I'm- I just... I don't know where to go from here. I miss Jenn so much.
  220.
  221. Tears start to form in Todd's eyes. He attempts to compose himself, trying not to cry.
  222.
  223. TEDDY
  224. Look, as generic as this sounds, you can't give up. Both for yourself and for Jenn. Think of how fucked it would be if you left Jenn and never returned.
  225.
  226. Hearing this, a tear rolls down Todd's cheek. He pulls his scarf up to his nose in an attempt to hide his face. Teddy suddenly notices something off in the distance. While this is happening Teddy notices something off in the distance.
  227.
  228. TEDDY
  229. Todd, do you see that?
  230.
  231. Todd is alerted and slowly pushed himself up.
  232.
  233. TODD
  234. What is that thing? Is that a person?
  235.
  236. TEDDY
  237. No idea...
  238.
  239. Teddy swiftly launches himself off the ground and offers his hand to help Todd get up.
  240.
  241. TEDDY
  242. ...but we're about to find out. C'mon.
  243.
  244. Todd an. Teddy start down the steep cliff, stumbling along the way and also losing sight of whatever they just saw.
  245.
  246. They reach the bottom and have to decide whether they enter the forest or to leave whatever they saw behind them. Todd, desperate to find a way home, turns to face Todd.
  247.
  248. TODD
  249. If I'm being honest, at this point... death would be preferable to backing down. If this turns out to be what we've been looking for...
  250.
  251. Teddy interrupts him, an. Todd looks offended.
  252.
  253. TEDDY
  254. Alright, we'll check it out- And, Todd, it's not that I don't care. It's that the more you talk about finding your way home the more you expect this to be the way. I know this is hard to swallow, but we know little to nothing about this "crystal arrow". Hell, we don't even know if it's even real.
  255.
  256. Todd sighs.
  257.
  258. TODD
  259. I guess you're right.
  260.
  261. TEDDY
  262. I'm not trying to discourage you, if that was the case I wouldn't have tried to help you in the first place, it's just you have to take everything we do with a grain of salt.
  263.
  264. Todd takes a big breath and sighs.
  265.
  266. TODD
  267. ...Anyways we have to get going anyways. It's getting dark.
  268.
  269. Teddy seems content.
  270.
  271. The two embark into the forest. After walking for a bit it seemed to get substantially darker, very quickly, and they come across a piece of paper stapled to a tree with the words "WELCOME TO MY HAPPY ZONE" on it written by what seems to be a child. Teddy looks around for a bit and is visibly puzzled, unable to see anything out of the ordinary.
  272.
  273. TODD
  274. A note that says "welcome to my happy zone"... In a forest... At dusk.
  275.
  276. TEDDY
  277. Well, that's not extremely creepy. I don't see why any sane person would ever do this, let alone the fact it looks like a four-year-old wrote this.
  278.
  279. Todd, on the other hand, looks behind him and notices a small shed that was very out of place, considering this was the middle of a forest. Both of them look at each other, puzzled. The two walk up and knock on the door, proceeding to wait for a response.
  280.
  281. TEDDY
  282. You said you went to a bunker in the woods and there was a portal, correct?
  283.
  284. TODD
  285. Yes but not a garden shed...
  286.
  287. After no response from inside, they decide to see if it's locked. It turns out not to be. After opening the door, they are met with a staircase that went down at least a floor. Eager to see what's inside, Todd starts down the stairs with Teddy reluctantly following behind.
  288.
  289. As they reach the bottom they find living space, completely intact. It looks as if someone is currently living here.
  290.
  291. Teddy shouts out to determine if his theory is correct.
  292.
  293. TEDDY
  294. HELLO!?
  295.
  296. Teddy rushes over to him and whispers to him
  297.
  298. TODD
  299. What if there's someone in here.
  300.
  301. TEDDY
  302. Well, whoever it is shouldn't leave vague notes in the forest, disguise their secret bunker as a garden shed and then proceed to leave it unlocked.
  303.
  304. TODD
  305. Who's to say the notes are from the owner of this.
  306.
  307. TEDDY
  308. Let's be fair, a lot of people in Mapleton are quite the character, so honestly, it's not far fetched that someone living in the woods would do this.
  309.
  310. After entering, and descending a large set of stairs, they find themselves in a seemingly normal living space. They both proceed to make themselves at home and get comfortable on a couch. Teddy dozes off quite quickly an. Todd follows.
  311.
  312. In the middle of the night, Teddy awakens to the sound of the door opening followed by footsteps descending the stairs. After waking Todd up, He grabs his flashlight and points it towards the stairs.
  313.
  314. It's an all mysterious figure, both Todd an. Teddy squinting as their eyes adjust to the light. The strange person is caught off guard seemingly more than them. In a deep scary voice, the figure engages.
  315.
  316. MYSTERIA
  317. Who are you and why are you out here at this time of night?
  318.
  319. Teddy
  320. We were just walking around the forest and saw a piece of paper that said "welcome to my fun zone". This was the only place within like 3 kilometres so...
  321.
  322. The figure leers at Teddy in disapproval. Taking long and slow strides, the figure makes its way to a coat rack. After which, they remove their coat. In a turn of events revealing an anthropomorphic racoon girl who seems to be about 9.
  323.
  324. MYSTERIA
  325. Well, you were correct!
  326.
  327. Teddy an. Todd look at each other, both in a wave of relief but also trying not to laugh at the sudden shift in tone.
  328.
  329. MYSTERIA
  330. Yeah, sorry for the spook. I wear that just in case there are thieves in here... You aren't thieves, are you?
  331.
  332. Todd shrugs an. Teddy rolls his eyes at him.
  333.
  334. TEDDY
  335. A good thief wouldn't sit around and hang out in the place they're robbing, would they?
  336.
  337. Mysteria raises her eyebrows.
  338.
  339. MYSTERIA
  340. You'd be surprised. Anyways, I left those notes! Why? Because I'm a racoon and I get bored when everyone asleep.
  341.
  342. The two looks at each other confused.
  343.
  344. MYSTERIA
  345. Because I'm a racoon...
  346.
  347. The two reconcile.
  348.
  349. TEDDY
  350. Fair enough I suppose. But why were those notes so vague and creepy.
  351.
  352. MYSTERIA
  353. Only a certain type of person would walk into a creepy bunker after reading a creepy note deep in the forest, in the middle of the night.
  354.
  355. Teddy stares at Todd an. Todd snickers.
  356.
  357. MYSTERIA
  358. Anyways! Feel free to make yourselves at home!
  359.
  360.
  361.
  362.
  363.
  364.
  365.
  366. With the help of the friends he met along the way, at the end, Todd locates a crystal arrow, a supposed artefact of another world, which actually happened to be an electronic device.
  367.
  368. "I've heard stories of strange beings haunting the haunted houses, but never know for certain what really went down. Where did these ghosts come from? What happened to them?" -TODD
  369.
  370. "In an instant, it was as if nothing had happened. Both Mary and I were sitting in a state of confusion, devoid of Todd" -TEDDY
  371.
  372. "I threw everything I had into this "dream of forgetting" and ran away from home. I wouldn't be getting caught."
  373.
  374. "It's a very, very old machine. It's actually a rather old one. Looks to be about 60 years old? That shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone..." - Mysteria
  375.
  376. What if Teddy or Todd received a mysterious phone call like "9 o'clock. Tonight. Be in the field. I'll be waiting." and they are like "fuck it why not lol" and Mary's there, glowing green eyes and goes fucking nuts.
  377.
  378. "I never knew what it would be like to have just one dream and never knew how important it would be to have more than one.
  379. But there was something about Todd that made me want to give him a chance. He seemed like a kind, yet again shy kid who was terrified of social interaction. His mom dying shortly before is arrival made me think he would give up easily and accept his future in our world." -TEDDY
  380.
  381. INT.BASEMENT
  382.
  383. A loud crash is heard from upstairs followed by yelling.
  384.
  385. JENN
  386. I hate when they fight.
  387.
  388. Todd is seen actively attempting to comfort his cousin. The argument upstairs has progressed. The step father is heard yelling while Todd’s mother is heard begging. Followed by screaming and lots of noise.
  389.
  390. One last scream is heard and then a thump follows. Todd looks up at the ceiling. After a bit another drop is heard. Footsteps begin an. Todd follows their placement until they reach the enterance to the basement.
  391.
  392. STEP DAD
  393. Hey Todd... uh, I have a surprise.
  394.
  395. Todd reluctantly walks to the bottom of the stairs. Stood there; he stares at his step father. Todd gestures to tell him.
  396.
  397. STEP DAD
  398. He... hehe... you know I’ve never heard you talk.. I wonder what your screams sound like?
  399.
  400. The door is slammed shut, and shortly after a slicing noise is heard.
  401.
  402. A moment of dread fills Todd as he grabs a knife that was showcased in a glass holder. He gestures for Jenn to climb out the window.
  403.
  404. JENN
  405. But what if... he sees me?
  406.
  407. Todd reluctantly shows Jenn he has a weaponed prepared, reassured her that he will only act in self defence. He starts ascending. Before he can open the door, his step father intervenes, doing it first. The door wings open an. Todd is met with
  408.
  409. the disembodied head of his own mother, lifeless.
  410.
  411. Todd stops dead in his tracks, an audible heart beat getting faster and louder. The camera zooming closer. by the en. Todd is staring face to face with his “stepfather”.
  412.
  413. STEP DAD
  414. That dumb slut... She got what she asking f-
  415.
  416. Before he can even finish his sentence Todd jumps at him; grabbing his shirt and yanking him to the ground. Todd’s breathing becomes slow and heavy. His eyes cleary watering up as the realization kicks in.
  417.
  418. STEP DAD
  419. You don’t have the balls to kill me... you don’t even have the wits to speak! You’re a worthless piece of shit!
  420.
  421. In one final moment, silence fills the building. Todd leans into his ear and whispers back
  422.
  423. TODD
  424. Wrong again.
  425.
  426. Todd, wielding the knife, grips it with all his might. In the heat of the moment, he thrustd his arm forward and after one final look at his mothers head, kills his step father in cold blood. Stabbing him tens of hundreds of times; each stab covering him and his surrounding in a dark red liquid. The adrenaline rush from such an event causing Todd conflicting emotion...
  427.
  428. Todd is left looking at his stepfathers dead body. Lifeless, besides the atonal breathing that took place.
  429.
  430. Todd walked back downstairs to his little cousin, his hands shaking extremely violently.
  431.
  432. JENN
  433. Todd? Is he ok?
  434.
  435. Todd walks towards Jenn, ultimately passing him; opening the window to the outside and gesturing for her to climb out.
  436.
  437. JENN
  438. But what about mommy?
  439.
  440. Todd looks down to avoid eye contact. He climbs through the window, as Jenn comes running behind.
  441.
  442. EXT.FOREST.EVENING
  443.
  444. Todd and Jenn are seen sitting in the middle of a seemingly endless brush forest. As they walk Todd writes down different areas of interests where they could build their “new life”.
  445.
  446. JENN
  447. Todd, do you think mommies alright?
  448.
  449. Todd takes a deep breath and sighs. He looks over to Jenn with his dark baggy eyes.
  450.
  451. TODD
  452. Uh... yeah.
  453.
  454. A silence fills the forest. They stop in their tracks. Todd’s face turned pale. Jenn is confused until he turns over and sees a large manhood cover.
  455.
  456. JENN
  457. Why is that out here? This forest has been off the grid for years...
  458.
  459. Hearing the word family fills Todd with chills. Flashbacks of what had taken place.
  460.
  461. The sun appears to be setting and without any other option for shelter, they decide to open it up. Inside they were faced with a long ladder.
  462.
  463. Todd Gestures Jenn hop on his shoulders, and he happily obliges. Both make their way down the bunker, Todd clinging with all his strength to each bar of the ladder.
  464.
  465. After a couple minutes of decending, Todd finally reaches the bottom.
  466.
  467. INT.BUNKER.DAY
  468.
  469. Todd manages to make it to the floor and Jenn climbs down from his shoulders. Todd then takes off his backpack while Jenn watches and takes a flashlight out of it.
  470.
  471. JENN
  472. Thank golly you came prepared.
  473.
  474. Todd snickers and turns it one shining it forward, revealing he room to the size of an average classroom. a few doors were present as well as a multitude of confusing ”control pads” and machine. One in particular is spherical in shape, with hundreds of wires connecting to different points. He shines his flashlight at it and starts walking towards it.
  475.
  476. Todd stares as Jenn follows behind. Taking a closer look they find a machine that connects all of the wires into one spot.
  477.
  478. The machine has three buttons, one says “power”, another says ”start” and the third says “close”. Todd puts his arm out making sure Jenn doesn’t touch anything.
  479.
  480. Todd inspects the machine and move it’s from its position finding a power connect to a port on the wall.
  481.
  482. TODD
  483. Stand back... I think it’s plugged in.
  484.
  485. Jenn is caught off guard by Todd’s sudden remark and quickly runs to the other side of the room.
  486.
  487. Without hesitation Todd presses the button and nothing happens. They wait a few seconds.
  488.
  489. JENN
  490. ... I guess you were wro-
  491.
  492. In the middle of his sentence Jenn is cut off by a loud noise sounding like that of a computer turning on.
  493.
  494. A screen with lights is lit up displaying a screen simply displaying text that says “Javacom” and the text “press “open” to open the gate. Press “close” to close the gate.”
  495.
  496. Confused by the meaning of the words Todd presses the button and is met with the words “Gate initializing...” displaying on the screen paired with a high pitched ringing. It slowly gets louder and louder until finally a bright light shines in front of them with an otherworlds effect on the inside of the large metal circle. Slowly the effect starts to fade away and a field appears on the otherside, as if looking into a door.
  497.
  498. Todd walks up to it slowly and throws his flashlight through upon inspection as to make sure the portle is harmless. After the flashlight passes through without damage, he slowly puts his finger through after wards and it appeared to be just fine.
  499.
  500. All the while this is happening Jenn slowly walks up to beside Todd. Todd tells him to go stand by the control panels and as a reward for making sure the box doesn’t power off, gives him a juice box.
  501.
  502. Todd, taking off his back pack and setting it down beside him climbs into the portle feet first and appears on the otherside in a vast field.
  503.
  504. Looking around him, he sees nothing and continues to walk away. Exiting the portale fully, he could see that the portle on the other side was made of a much different material; looking almost purple. Looking up Todd notices he’s actually in a large cave with a single hole in the enterance illuminating down on the field.
  505.
  506. Jenn, drinking his juice box, see an interesting door and decides to walk away from the box, but as he does so he slips and falls; spilling his juice box intop of the large machine.
  507.
  508. It starts to buzz loudly, and shaking. Todd looks behind his to see what’s happening and notices sparks coming from the inside, which soon burst into flames. Todd starts running towards the portle as fast as he can.
  509.
  510. The portle turns off.
  511.
  512. INT.FIELD.DAY
  513.
  514. Todd, in the midst of running stops and is left stood in a vast field by himself. Todd starts mashing buttons on the machine. After a few minutes of disbelief and finally gives up.
  515.
  516. Todd is sat in the field. He try’s to compose himself but after a few minutes his eyes start to water and starts to cry.
  517.
  518. TODD
  519. Jenn... no. I already killed someone today! No! Fuck!
  520.
  521. After 30 minutes of sobbing. Todd finally pulls himself together and makes a plan for himself. He takes one good look around him. He notices trees in the building and birds in sky. Todd was un nerved, it all looked so farmiliar but this place had no sky... just a roof with a hole.
  522.
  523. Todd finally gathers up the courage to stand up and starts to walk. Heading towards the forest.
  524.
  525. INT.FIELD.EVENING
  526.
  527. It had started to get dark out an. Todd was exhausted. He had finally arrived at the forest and took camp for the night. He found as many sticks as he could and made a makeshift “tipi” and covered it with leaves. Afterwards he gathered bark and twigs for a fire. He had luckily carried a lighter in his pocket at all times.
  528.
  529. He lit the bark and twigs on fire just outside of the door, which made it warm enough to sleep... Todd layed his head down on the forest floor. And closed his eyes.
  530.
  531. INT.ROOM.DAY
  532.
  533. Todd starts to wake up, sitting up, yawning, stretching and opening his eyes.
  534.
  535. Todd stops dead in his tracks.
  536.
  537. He looks around himself in disbelief as he woke up in his own basement. He hears the door open silently and looks towards instinctively. He hears footsteps.
  538.
  539. A strange fluffy figure walks down the stairs.
  540.
  541. It appears to be an anthropomorphic bear cub, wearing the same clothes he’s wearing.
  542.
  543. He walks down looks over at Todd, the bear is carrying down a bottle of water; Identical to that of what was kept in his own house. Also wearing the same scarf he had on his face.
  544.
  545. TEDDY
  546. Oh hey, you’re up... uh, I’m Teddy but my friends call Todd.
  547.
  548. Todd states at Teddy, shocked; mouth open. Teddy’s voice is identical to that of his own.
  549.
  550. TEDDY
  551. Uh...
  552.
  553. Teddy stops walking and stares back. Todd speaks up.
  554.
  555. TODD
  556. Your... your voice...
  557.
  558. Teddy looks at Todd the same, both exchanging glares.
  559.
  560. TEDDY
  561. Well... uh, that’s an interesting coincidence? ... Care to introduce yourself?
  562.
  563. TODD
  564. My name is Todd...
  565.
  566. Teddy looks at him even more intensely
  567.
  568. TODD
  569. With two Ds.
  570.
  571. Todd sticks his fingers out like finger guns.
  572.
  573. TEDDY
  574. No fucking way.
  575.
  576. Teddy approaaches Todd. Teddy pulls down the scar he is wearing over his mouthnand takes it off, looking at the tag. It had a drawing of a lightning bolt on the tag.
  577.
  578. Todd took one look, and his heart skipped a beat. Pulling his off in the same manner, revealing the same drawing.
  579.
  580. BOTH
  581. What the fuck is going on.
  582.
  583. They look at each other. Todd climbs out of the bed and looks around his house, everything the same as when he and Jenn had left. The pictures though were different, each family member was another bear.
  584.
  585. TODD
  586. You’re... a bear?
  587.
  588. Teddy looks insulted.
  589.
  590. TEDDY
  591. You’re an ape...
  592.
  593. Todd looks surprised and looks right at Teddy
  594.
  595. TODD
  596. I’m a human.
  597.
  598. TEDDY
  599. I’m a Manifold.
  600.
  601. Todd looks intrigued.
  602.
  603. TODD
  604. The fucks that?
  605.
  606. TEDDY
  607. The fucks a human?
  608.
  609. Todd looks defeated and picks up a picture of himself and Jenn, now two bear cubs. His hands visibly shaking. He then walks around and a silence continues.
  610.
  611. Teddy breaks the silence.
  612.
  613. TEDDY
  614. So... where are you from?
  615.
  616. TODD
  617. Earth, planet Earth.
  618.
  619. Teddy nods.
  620.
  621. TEDDY
  622. Yes, Earth that is generally what we call this planet? I mean how are you a talking ape?
  623.
  624. Todd rolls his eyes.
  625.
  626. TODD
  627. I am part of “mankind”, you know “human”, man. We live under the sun and have houses. Anyways, I’m Todd. I have a mom named... had a mom named Sheryl.
  628.
  629. Teddy throws his arms up onto his head and grasps his head
  630.
  631. TEDDY
  632. Holy shit you really are me...
  633.
  634. The tension in the room has completely dissapeared at this point.
  635.
  636. Todd walks to the stairs and starts up it. Teddy runs to him to stop him.
  637.
  638. TEDDY
  639. My mom and her boyfriend are up there. He’s really abusive, and if he saw a sentient ape he’d flip.
  640.
  641. TODD
  642. Then how am I supposed to-
  643.
  644. Todd had a sudden realization.
  645.
  646. TODD
  647. Wait, you’re lying to me...
  648.
  649. Teddy looks right back at Todd and his eyes widen.
  650.
  651. TEDDY
  652. Don’t tell me you too...
  653.
  654. Todd shakes his head. He makes his way up the stairs and is met with a floor full of blood and two bodies underneath a blanket. Teddy quickly runs from behind, staring at the mess.
  655.
  656. They both state for a bit. Both are uncomfortable.
  657.
  658. TEDDY
  659. I can’t believe I fucking killed him.
  660.
  661. Teddy covered his face with his hands. Sobbing into them. Todd remarks.
  662.
  663. TODD
  664. It was for the greater good. That piece of shit should’ve never touched her.
  665. Teddy looks over to his, head down.
  666.
  667. TEDDY
  668. How... how did you know?
  669.
  670. Todd shrugs.
  671.
  672. TODD
  673. Todd walks into the living room and out the front door.
  674.
  675. It looks the same as his own house. He kept thinking about the bunker underground.
  676.
  677. INT.FIELD.DAY
  678.
  679. Todd exited the house. Looking around. Everything is the same as his own world. The sky though was different.
  680.
  681. Todd begins to question his reality.
  682.
  683. TODD
  684. How... how did you find me?
  685.
  686. TEDDY
  687. Well after I had killed him, I ran away with Jenn to a forest... during the night Jenn has ran away. While I was trying to find him, I found you.
  688.
  689. Todd stands in front of Teddy hands on his shoulders.
  690.
  691. TODD
  692. I came here through a portle in a bunker... Jenn spilt water on it...
  693.
  694. Teddy stands there dumbfounded.
  695.
  696. TEDDY
  697. Do you think... do you think Jenn...
  698.
  699. TODD
  700. Yes.
  701.
  702. Todd comforts Teddy, pats him on the shoulders and walks towards the front door.
  703.
  704. TEDDY
  705. Where are you going?
  706.
  707. TODD
  708. To figure out what’s going on.
  709.
  710. Teddy contemplates for a bit. Todd chimes in after a moment of silence.
  711.
  712. TODD
  713. You coming, *Tedd*
  714.
  715. TEDDY
  716. Yeah, why not. It beats sitting here with... well, nobody.
  717.
  718. Todd steps out and holds the door for Teddy
  719.
  720. TEDDY
  721. Where are we even going to go.
  722.
  723. TODD
  724. Well if I’m correct, the nearest city is an 11 km hike. That means if we start walking now, we’ll be there before night...
  725.
  726. Teddy look back at his garage.
  727.
  728. TEDDY
  729. I have a better idea.
  730.
  731. Teddy approaches his garage and lifts it open revealing the families bycicles. He hopes on to one of them, an. Todd follows shortly after.
  732.
  733. They bike into the city...
  734.
  735. EXT.MASSIVECAVE.DUSK
  736.
  737. Todd and Teddy ride through the gates of a broken down, apolcalyptic city; which had flags sporting a single lightning bolt sparking down the middle.
  738.
  739. As the arrived up front. An alligator manifold and a lion manifold block their entry and ask for their identification.
  740.
  741. They both pull off their scar and show the tag to the guards, both with lightning bolts. Identical to one another. In near perfect condition.
  742.
  743. The guards is impressed and lets them both in.
  744.
  745. As the step through the city the notices a large shift in brightness as the sun becomes visible and they were exiting a massive cave.
  746.
  747. As they enter Todd is amazed. Todd finds it so similar yet everyone was different... and some things also changed.
  748.
  749. TEDDY
  750. Well, what now?
  751.
  752. TODD
  753. The library might be a good place to start.
  754.

  756. Yeah, good idea... let’s just hope nobody lit it on fire again!

  768. Todd remembers he brought his flashlight and shines it in front of him. It was surprisingly clean.
  769.
  770. TODD
  771. Huh, this shouldn’t be too hard.
  772.
  773. TEDDY
  774. Yeah the archives are just in the basement.
  775.
  776. They walk around the Library.

  783.
  784. There is a a couple entries in the catlogue all from a book called “A truthful machine.” They both search through the bookshelves until the find the book.
  785.
  786. Upon finding the book they read the summary on the back.
  787.
  788. It reads
  789.
  790. A truthful machine recalls the manifolds discoveries of the god particle and it’s relation to energy.
  791.
  792. Todd is confused.
  793.
  794. TEDDY
  795. Do you not know what energy is? Like spirit energy?
  796.
  797. TODD
  798. What? No. In humans that’s just hormones and biology.
  799.
  800. TEDDY
  801. We have actual scientifically measurable spirit energy. Not debatable stuff!
  802.
  803. TODD
  804. I guess I’m not affected by this spirit energy because I’m a human...

  809. That’s it!

  812. What’s it?
  813.
  814. Teddy runs over to the catalogue an. Todd follows behind. Teddy arrives to it and flips to the word human.
  815.
  816. One result.
  817.
  818. The result was an old archived farmers journal from around 1978. When they arrive they find it is from around the area before civil collapse.

  881. annoying" little cousin that he loves dearly were sitting silently in the basement.
  891. Todd turned around to face Teddy, as he initially thought he was just bullshitting about the glowing eyes.
  893. They converse for a bit until concluding that this was the only way Todd could have ended up in this universe and that the reason they "have yet to return" is because they couldn't find a way back to their own universe.
  900. Continuing on as if nothing happened, they continue through the school and look around not finding much.
  904.
  906.

  924. We're not gonna yell at you or get you in trouble if you think that's what we're here for.
  925.
  926. The cub, about to open the door peers over his shoulder and looks at Teddy.
  927.
  928. Jess
  929. Who are you then?
  930.
  931. The boy sounds very nervous.
  932.

  934. I'm Teddy, this is my pal, Todd. We're just checking out this place. We thought there'd be people here since it's... y'know, a school. Anyways, we're just wondering why it seems so abandon? and for that matter why you're here.
  935.
  936. They both await a response. After some silence, the cub responds.
  937.
  938. Jess
  939. I am here because... because I lost something...
  940.
  941. He starts to shake and then speeds off through the door before Teddy could question him anymore
  942.
  943. At a loss for words, they continue on as if nothing happened.
  944.

  948.
  949. TODD
  950. Hey.
  951.
  952. The bear looked up at Todd and trembled. Todd, noticing the fear in the bear's eyes, put his hand out offering a handshake but the bear flinched. Todd kept his hand out and the cub reluctantly shook his hand.
  953.
  954. TODD
  955. I'm Todd by the way.
  956.
  957. The cub was soft spoken.

  961.
  962. Todd was taken aback for a moment, then returned to a standing position
  963.
  964. Teddy audibly zips up his pants and exits the stall.
  965.
  966. TEDDY
  967. Oh hey, it's you. Nice to meet you.
  968.
  969. The room went silent for a bit, finally Jess breaking the silence.
  970.
  971. JESS
  972. Why do you look so weird?
  973.
  974. Teddy realized how stupid he was to forget Todd's unusual look.
  975.
  976. TEDDY
  977. Oh my god! How could I have forgotten!
  978.
  979. Teddy smacks his head with his hand.
  980.
  981. TEDDY
  982. Alright, Todd... well let's just say Todd isn't... well, "one of us". He's from a different... "world".
  983.
  984. Jess raises an eyebrow.
  985.
  986. TEDDY
  987. He was transported here and... well... we're trying to get him back home.
  988.
  989. Jess looks over at Todd once again, who waves.
  990.
  991. JESS
  992. Oh. That's kinda neat.
  993.
  994. Todd chimes in.
  995.
  996. TODD
  997. Ye. Your species is pretty neat too.
  998.
  999. TEDDY
1000. How about we leave the bathroom since this isn't the most ideal spot to explain Todd's ordeal... wanna go to the cafe?
  1001.
1002. Todd and Jess nod and they proceed back to the cafe. A Very little conversation is initiated on the way, but they notice Jess seems extremely familiar with the layout of the school and exactly how to get back.
  1003.
1004. Upon arriving in the cafeteria, they sit down at a table and pull up a couple of chairs.
  1005.
  1006. TEDDY
1007. So what are you doing here anyway?
  1008.
1009. Jess looks at Todd and backs down at his Gameboy.
  1010.
  1011. JESS
  1012. I lost something...
  1013.
1014. Teddy looks at Todd, then back at Jess; still playing his Gameboy.
  1015.
  1016. TEDDY
  1017. Lost what?
  1018.
  1019. JESS
  1020. I'm not sure... but I remember I did.
  1021.
1022. Teddy pulls in closer to Jess.
  1023.
  1024. TEDDY
  1025. Hey... are you good?
  1026.
  1027. JESS
  1028. I'm fine.
  1029.
  1030. TEDDY
1031. You want us to help you find whatever you've lost.
  1032.
  1033. JESS
1034. That would be desirable, yes.
  1035.
1036. Teddy, bewildered by Jess' unusual attitude distances himself from Jess and moves closer to Todd who suddenly asks a question.
  1037.
  1038. TODD
1039. If you don't like the questions we can stop. I don't like to talk either.
  1040.
  1041. JESS
1042. I'm not good at talking. I don't like talking. Please, no questions.
  1043.
1044. Todd looks at Teddy and places his hand on Jess' shoulder
  1045.
  1046. TODD
1047. Well, you heard him. We should start looking for whatever you lost.

1062. THIS PART OF THE SCRIPT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT BUT I DONT KNOW WHERE IN THE STORY IT FITS IN BECAUSE I NEED TO REDO THE OLD SCRIPT IN ACCORDANCE TO THE OUTLINE
  1063.
  1064.
1065. Todd an. Teddy are on the edge of a massive hill, exhausted-looking into the distance to see if they notice anything strange.
  1066.
  1067. Todd breaks the silence.
  1068.
  1069. Todd
  1070. 10 days.
  1071.
1072. Teddy looks at him, confused as to why he started a conversation.
  1073.
  1074. TEDDY
1075. "10 days? Wh... what are you talking about?"
  1076.
  1077. Todd looks away again.
  1078.
  1079. TODD
1080. "My life... my family... It's been ten days and we're no closer to getting me back home. Who am I kidding? What's the point in dreaming if I'm destined to fail?"
  1081.
  1082. TEDDY
1083. "You're not though... You are the only one who gets to- or even has the chance to chose your destiny. You can't give up now."
  1084.
1085. Todd leans back, his head facing the sky.
  1086.
  1087. TODD
1088. To change my own destiny... would be changing something I lost grip on a long fucking time ago
  1089.
  1090. TEDDY
1091. Todd... you have a dream. Your dream is to go back home. What kind of brother would you be if you gave up now? You can't let that dream die! Jenn is out there! He's terrified and you bet your ass he reflects on accidentally flipping that switch every single fucking day! But he's out there. And he's waiting for you!
  1092.
  1093. Todd looks to Teddy.
  1094.
  1095. TEDDY
1096. And your mom? What would she want you to do? Just abandon Jenn with some useless prick?
  1097.
  1098. Todd
1099. You're right, I'm- I just... I don't know where to go from here. I miss Jenn so much.
  1100.
1101. Tears start to form in Todd's eyes. He attempts to compose himself, trying not to cry.
  1102.
  1103. TEDDY
1104. Look, as generic as this sounds, you can't give up. Both for yourself and for Jenn. Think of how fucked it would be if you left Jenn and never returned.
  1105.
1106. Hearing this, a tear rolls down Todd's cheek. He pulls his scarf up to his nose in an attempt to hide his face. Teddy suddenly notices something off in the distance. While this is happening Teddy notices something off in the distance.
  1107.
  1108. TEDDY
1109. Todd, do you see that?
  1110.
1111. Todd is alerted and slowly pushed himself up.
  1112.
  1113. TODD
1114. What is that thing? Is that a person?
  1115.
  1116. TEDDY
  1117. No idea...
  1118.
1119. Teddy swiftly launches himself off the ground and offers his hand to help Todd get up.
  1120.
  1121. TEDDY
1122. ...but we're about to find out. C'mon.
  1123.
1124. Todd an. Teddy start down the steep cliff, stumbling along the way and also losing sight of whatever they just saw.
  1125.
1126. They reach the bottom and have to decide whether they enter the forest or to leave whatever they saw behind them. Todd, desperate to find a way home, turns to face Todd.
  1127.
  1128. TODD
1129. If I'm being honest, at this point... death would be preferable to backing down. If this turns out to be what we've been looking for...
  1130.
1131. Teddy interrupts him, an. Todd looks offended.
  1132.
  1133. TEDDY
1134. Alright, we'll check it out- And, Todd, it's not that I don't care. It's that the more you talk about finding your way home the more you expect this to be the way. I know this is hard to swallow, but we know little to nothing about this "crystal arrow". Hell, we don't even know if it's even real.
  1135.
  1136. Todd sighs.
  1137.
  1138. TODD
  1139. I guess you're right.
  1140.
  1141. TEDDY
1142. I'm not trying to discourage you, if that was the case I wouldn't have tried to help you in the first place, it's just you have to take everything we do with a grain of salt.
  1143.
1144. Todd takes a big breath and sighs.
  1145.
  1146. TODD
1147. ...Anyways we have to get going anyways. It's getting dark.
  1148.
  1149. Teddy seems content.
  1150.
  1152.
  1153. TODD
1154. A note that says "welcome to my happy zone"... In a forest... At dusk.
  1155.
  1156. TEDDY
1157. Well, that's not extremely creepy. I don't see why any sane person would ever do this, let alone the fact it looks like a four-year-old wrote this.
  1158.
1159. Todd, on the other hand, looks behind him and notices a small shed that was very out of place, considering this was the middle of a forest. Both of them look at each other, puzzled. The two walk up and knock on the door, proceeding to wait for a response.
  1160.
  1161. TEDDY
1162. You said you went to a bunker in the woods and there was a portal, correct?
  1163.
  1164. TODD
1165. Yes but not a garden shed...
  1166.
1167. After no response from inside, they decide to see if it's locked. It turns out not to be. After opening the door, they are met with a staircase that went down at least a floor. Eager to see what's inside, Todd starts down the stairs with Teddy reluctantly following behind.
  1168.
1169. As they reach the bottom they find living space, completely intact. It looks as if someone is currently living here.
  1170.
1171. Teddy shouts out to determine if his theory is correct.
  1172.
  1173. TEDDY
  1174. HELLO!?
  1175.
1176. Teddy rushes over to him and whispers to him
  1177.
  1178. TODD
1179. What if there's someone in here.
  1180.
  1181. TEDDY
1182. Well, whoever it is shouldn't leave vague notes in the forest, disguise their secret bunker as a garden shed and then proceed to leave it unlocked.
  1183.
  1184. TODD
1185. Who's to say the notes are from the owner of this.
  1186.
  1187. TEDDY
1188. Let's be fair, a lot of people in Mapleton are quite the character, so honestly, it's not far fetched that someone living in the woods would do this.
  1189.
1190. After entering, and descending a large set of stairs, they find themselves in a seemingly normal living space. They both proceed to make themselves at home and get comfortable on a couch. Teddy dozes off quite quickly an. Todd follows.
  1191.
1192. In the middle of the night, Teddy awakens to the sound of the door opening followed by footsteps descending the stairs. After waking Todd up, He grabs his flashlight and points it towards the stairs.
  1193.
1194. It's an all mysterious figure, both Todd an. Teddy squinting as their eyes adjust to the light. The strange person is caught off guard seemingly more than them. In a deep scary voice, the figure engages.
  1195.
  1196. MYSTERIA
1197. Who are you and why are you out here at this time of night?
  1198.
  1199. Teddy
1200. We were just walking around the forest and saw a piece of paper that said "welcome to my fun zone". This was the only place within like 3 kilometres so...
  1201.
1202. The figure leers at Teddy in disapproval. Taking long and slow strides, the figure makes its way to a coat rack. After which, they remove their coat. In a turn of events revealing an anthropomorphic racoon girl who seems to be about 9.
  1203.
  1204. MYSTERIA
  1205. Well, you were correct!
  1206.
1207. Teddy an. Todd look at each other, both in a wave of relief but also trying not to laugh at the sudden shift in tone.
  1208.
  1209. MYSTERIA
1210. Yeah, sorry for the spook. I wear that just in case there are thieves in here... You aren't thieves, are you?
  1211.
1212. Todd shrugs an. Teddy rolls his eyes at him.
  1213.
  1214. TEDDY
1215. A good thief wouldn't sit around and hang out in the place they're robbing, would they?
  1216.
  1217. Mysteria raises her eyebrows.
  1218.
  1219. MYSTERIA
1220. You'd be surprised. Anyways, I left those notes! Why? Because I'm a racoon and I get bored when everyone asleep.
  1221.
1222. The two looks at each other confused.
  1223.
  1224. MYSTERIA
  1225. Because I'm a racoon...
  1226.
  1227. The two reconcile.
  1228.
  1229. TEDDY
1230. Fair enough I suppose. But why were those notes so vague and creepy.
  1231.
  1232. MYSTERIA
1233. Only a certain type of person would walk into a creepy bunker after reading a creepy note deep in the forest, in the middle of the night.
  1234.
1235. Teddy stares at Todd an. Todd snickers.
  1236.
  1237. MYSTERIA
1238. Anyways! Feel free to make yourselves at home!
  1239.
  1240.
  1241.
  1242.
  1243.
  1244.
  1245.
1246. With the help of the friends he met along the way, at the end, Todd locates a crystal arrow, a supposed artefact of another world, which actually happened to be an electronic device.
  1247.
1248. "I've heard stories of strange beings haunting the haunted houses, but never know for certain what really went down. Where did these ghosts come from? What happened to them?" -TODD
  1249.
1250. "In an instant, it was as if nothing had happened. Both Mary and I were sitting in a state of confusion, devoid of Todd" -TEDDY
  1251.
1252. "I threw everything I had into this "dream of forgetting" and ran away from home. I wouldn't be getting caught."
  1253.
1254. "It's a very, very old machine. It's actually a rather old one. Looks to be about 60 years old? That shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone..." - Mysteria
  1255.
1256. What if Teddy or Todd received a mysterious phone call like "9 o'clock. Tonight. Be in the field. I'll be waiting." and they are like "fuck it why not lol" and Mary's there, glowing green eyes and goes fucking nuts.
  1257.
1258. "I never knew what it would be like to have just one dream and never knew how important it would be to have more than one.
1259. But there was something about Todd that made me want to give him a chance. He seemed like a kind, yet again shy kid who was terrified of social interaction. His mom dying shortly before is arrival made me think he would give up easily and accept his future in our world." -TEDDY
  1260.
  1261. INT.BASEMENT
  1262.
1263. A loud crash is heard from upstairs followed by yelling.
  1264.
  1265. JENN
1266. I hate when they fight.
  1267.
1268. Todd is seen actively attempting to comfort his cousin. The argument upstairs has progressed. The step father is heard yelling while Todd’s mother is heard begging. Followed by screaming and lots of noise.
  1269.
1270. One last scream is heard and then a thump follows. Todd looks up at the ceiling. After a bit another drop is heard. Footsteps begin an. Todd follows their placement until they reach the enterance to the basement.
  1271.
  1272. STEP DAD
1273. Hey Todd... uh, I have a surprise.
  1274.
1275. Todd reluctantly walks to the bottom of the stairs. Stood there; he stares at his step father. Todd gestures to tell him.
  1276.
  1277. STEP DAD
1278. He... hehe... you know I’ve never heard you talk.. I wonder what your screams sound like?
  1279.
1280. The door is slammed shut, and shortly after a slicing noise is heard.
  1281.
1282. A moment of dread fills Todd as he grabs a knife that was showcased in a glass holder. He gestures for Jenn to climb out the window.
  1283.
  1284. JENN
1285. But what if... he sees me?
  1286.
1287. Todd reluctantly shows Jenn he has a weaponed prepared, reassured her that he will only act in self defence. He starts ascending. Before he can open the door, his step father intervenes, doing it first. The door wings open an. Todd is met with
  1288.
1289. the disembodied head of his own mother, lifeless.
  1290.
1291. Todd stops dead in his tracks, an audible heart beat getting faster and louder. The camera zooming closer. by the en. Todd is staring face to face with his “stepfather”.
  1292.
  1293. STEP DAD
1294. That dumb slut... She got what she asking f-
  1295.
1296. Before he can even finish his sentence Todd jumps at him; grabbing his shirt and yanking him to the ground. Todd’s breathing becomes slow and heavy. His eyes cleary watering up as the realization kicks in.
  1297.
  1298. STEP DAD
1299. You don’t have the balls to kill me... you don’t even have the wits to speak! You’re a worthless piece of shit!
  1300.
1301. In one final moment, silence fills the building. Todd leans into his ear and whispers back
  1302.
  1303. TODD
  1304. Wrong again.
  1305.
  1307.
1308. Todd is left looking at his stepfathers dead body. Lifeless, besides the atonal breathing that took place.
  1309.
1310. Todd walked back downstairs to his little cousin, his hands shaking extremely violently.
  1311.
  1312. JENN
  1313. Todd? Is he ok?
  1314.
1315. Todd walks towards Jenn, ultimately passing him; opening the window to the outside and gesturing for her to climb out.
  1316.
  1317. JENN
  1318. But what about mommy?
  1319.
1320. Todd looks down to avoid eye contact. He climbs through the window, as Jenn comes running behind.
  1321.
  1322. EXT.FOREST.EVENING
  1323.
1324. Todd and Jenn are seen sitting in the middle of a seemingly endless brush forest. As they walk Todd writes down different areas of interests where they could build their “new life”.
  1325.
  1326. JENN
1327. Todd, do you think mommies alright?
  1328.
1329. Todd takes a deep breath and sighs. He looks over to Jenn with his dark baggy eyes.
  1330.
  1331. TODD
  1332. Uh... yeah.
  1333.
1334. A silence fills the forest. They stop in their tracks. Todd’s face turned pale. Jenn is confused until he turns over and sees a large manhood cover.
  1335.
  1336. JENN
1337. Why is that out here? This forest has been off the grid for years...
  1338.
1339. Hearing the word family fills Todd with chills. Flashbacks of what had taken place.
  1340.
1341. The sun appears to be setting and without any other option for shelter, they decide to open it up. Inside they were faced with a long ladder.
  1342.
1343. Todd Gestures Jenn hop on his shoulders, and he happily obliges. Both make their way down the bunker, Todd clinging with all his strength to each bar of the ladder.
  1344.
1345. After a couple minutes of decending, Todd finally reaches the bottom.
  1346.
  1347. INT.BUNKER.DAY
  1348.
1349. Todd manages to make it to the floor and Jenn climbs down from his shoulders. Todd then takes off his backpack while Jenn watches and takes a flashlight out of it.
  1350.
  1351. JENN
1352. Thank golly you came prepared.
  1353.
  1355.
1356. Todd stares as Jenn follows behind. Taking a closer look they find a machine that connects all of the wires into one spot.
  1357.
1358. The machine has three buttons, one says “power”, another says ”start” and the third says “close”. Todd puts his arm out making sure Jenn doesn’t touch anything.
  1359.
1360. Todd inspects the machine and move it’s from its position finding a power connect to a port on the wall.
  1361.
  1362. TODD
1363. Stand back... I think it’s plugged in.
  1364.
1365. Jenn is caught off guard by Todd’s sudden remark and quickly runs to the other side of the room.
  1366.
1367. Without hesitation Todd presses the button and nothing happens. They wait a few seconds.
  1368.
  1369. JENN
  1370. ... I guess you were wro-
  1371.
1372. In the middle of his sentence Jenn is cut off by a loud noise sounding like that of a computer turning on.
  1373.
1374. A screen with lights is lit up displaying a screen simply displaying text that says “Javacom” and the text “press “open” to open the gate. Press “close” to close the gate.”
  1375.
  1377.
1378. Todd walks up to it slowly and throws his flashlight through upon inspection as to make sure the portle is harmless. After the flashlight passes through without damage, he slowly puts his finger through after wards and it appeared to be just fine.
  1379.
1380. All the while this is happening Jenn slowly walks up to beside Todd. Todd tells him to go stand by the control panels and as a reward for making sure the box doesn’t power off, gives him a juice box.
  1381.
1382. Todd, taking off his back pack and setting it down beside him climbs into the portle feet first and appears on the otherside in a vast field.
  1383.
1384. Looking around him, he sees nothing and continues to walk away. Exiting the portale fully, he could see that the portle on the other side was made of a much different material; looking almost purple. Looking up Todd notices he’s actually in a large cave with a single hole in the enterance illuminating down on the field.
  1385.
1386. Jenn, drinking his juice box, see an interesting door and decides to walk away from the box, but as he does so he slips and falls; spilling his juice box intop of the large machine.
  1387.
1388. It starts to buzz loudly, and shaking. Todd looks behind his to see what’s happening and notices sparks coming from the inside, which soon burst into flames. Todd starts running towards the portle as fast as he can.
  1389.
  1390. The portle turns off.
  1391.
  1392. INT.FIELD.DAY
  1393.
1394. Todd, in the midst of running stops and is left stood in a vast field by himself. Todd starts mashing buttons on the machine. After a few minutes of disbelief and finally gives up.
  1395.
1396. Todd is sat in the field. He try’s to compose himself but after a few minutes his eyes start to water and starts to cry.
  1397.
  1398. TODD
1399. Jenn... no. I already killed someone today! No! Fuck!
  1400.
1401. After 30 minutes of sobbing. Todd finally pulls himself together and makes a plan for himself. He takes one good look around him. He notices trees in the building and birds in sky. Todd was un nerved, it all looked so farmiliar but this place had no sky... just a roof with a hole.
  1402.
1403. Todd finally gathers up the courage to stand up and starts to walk. Heading towards the forest.
  1404.
  1405. INT.FIELD.EVENING
  1406.
  1408.
1409. He lit the bark and twigs on fire just outside of the door, which made it warm enough to sleep... Todd layed his head down on the forest floor. And closed his eyes.
  1410.
  1411. INT.ROOM.DAY
  1412.
1413. Todd starts to wake up, sitting up, yawning, stretching and opening his eyes.
  1414.
1415. Todd stops dead in his tracks.
  1416.
1417. He looks around himself in disbelief as he woke up in his own basement. He hears the door open silently and looks towards instinctively. He hears footsteps.
  1418.
1419. A strange fluffy figure walks down the stairs.
  1420.
1421. It appears to be an anthropomorphic bear cub, wearing the same clothes he’s wearing.
  1422.
1423. He walks down looks over at Todd, the bear is carrying down a bottle of water; Identical to that of what was kept in his own house. Also wearing the same scarf he had on his face.
  1424.
  1425. TEDDY
1426. Oh hey, you’re up... uh, I’m Teddy but my friends call Todd.
  1427.
1428. Todd states at Teddy, shocked; mouth open. Teddy’s voice is identical to that of his own.
  1429.
  1430. TEDDY
  1431. Uh...
  1432.
1433. Teddy stops walking and stares back. Todd speaks up.
  1434.
  1435. TODD
  1436. Your... your voice...
  1437.
1438. Teddy looks at Todd the same, both exchanging glares.
  1439.
  1440. TEDDY
1441. Well... uh, that’s an interesting coincidence? ... Care to introduce yourself?
  1442.
  1443. TODD
  1444. My name is Todd...
  1445.
1446. Teddy looks at him even more intensely
  1447.
  1448. TODD
  1449. With two Ds.
  1450.
1451. Todd sticks his fingers out like finger guns.
  1452.
  1453. TEDDY
  1454. No fucking way.
  1455.
1456. Teddy approaaches Todd. Teddy pulls down the scar he is wearing over his mouthnand takes it off, looking at the tag. It had a drawing of a lightning bolt on the tag.
  1457.
1458. Todd took one look, and his heart skipped a beat. Pulling his off in the same manner, revealing the same drawing.
  1459.
  1460. BOTH
1461. What the fuck is going on.
  1462.
1463. They look at each other. Todd climbs out of the bed and looks around his house, everything the same as when he and Jenn had left. The pictures though were different, each family member was another bear.
  1464.
  1465. TODD
  1466. You’re... a bear?
  1467.
  1468. Teddy looks insulted.
  1469.
  1470. TEDDY
  1471. You’re an ape...
  1472.
1473. Todd looks surprised and looks right at Teddy
  1474.
  1475. TODD
  1476. I’m a human.
  1477.
  1478. TEDDY
  1479. I’m a Manifold.
  1480.
  1481. Todd looks intrigued.
  1482.
  1483. TODD
  1484. The fucks that?
  1485.
  1486. TEDDY
  1487. The fucks a human?
  1488.
1489. Todd looks defeated and picks up a picture of himself and Jenn, now two bear cubs. His hands visibly shaking. He then walks around and a silence continues.
  1490.
  1491. Teddy breaks the silence.
  1492.
  1493. TEDDY
1494. So... where are you from?
  1495.
  1496. TODD
  1497. Earth, planet Earth.
  1498.
  1499. Teddy nods.
  1500.
  1501. TEDDY
1502. Yes, Earth that is generally what we call this planet? I mean how are you a talking ape?
  1503.
  1504. Todd rolls his eyes.
  1505.
  1506. TODD
1507. I am part of “mankind”, you know “human”, man. We live under the sun and have houses. Anyways, I’m Todd. I have a mom named... had a mom named Sheryl.
  1508.
1509. Teddy throws his arms up onto his head and grasps his head
  1510.
  1511. TEDDY
1512. Holy shit you really are me...
  1513.
1514. The tension in the room has completely dissapeared at this point.
  1515.
1516. Todd walks to the stairs and starts up it. Teddy runs to him to stop him.
  1517.
  1518. TEDDY
1519. My mom and her boyfriend are up there. He’s really abusive, and if he saw a sentient ape he’d flip.
  1520.
  1521. TODD
1522. Then how am I supposed to-
  1523.
1524. Todd had a sudden realization.
  1525.
  1526. TODD
1527. Wait, you’re lying to me...
  1528.
1529. Teddy looks right back at Todd and his eyes widen.
  1530.
  1531. TEDDY
1532. Don’t tell me you too...
  1533.
1534. Todd shakes his head. He makes his way up the stairs and is met with a floor full of blood and two bodies underneath a blanket. Teddy quickly runs from behind, staring at the mess.
  1535.
1536. They both state for a bit. Both are uncomfortable.
  1537.
  1538. TEDDY
  1539. I can’t believe I fucking killed him.
  1540.
1541. Teddy covered his face with his hands. Sobbing into them. Todd remarks.
  1542.
  1543. TODD
1544. It was for the greater good. That piece of shit should’ve never touched her.
1545. Teddy looks over to his, head down.
  1546.
  1547. TEDDY
1548. How... how did you know?
  1549.
  1550. Todd shrugs.
  1551.
  1552. TODD
1553. Todd walks into the living room and out the front door.
  1554.
1555. It looks the same as his own house. He kept thinking about the bunker underground.
  1556.
  1557. INT.FIELD.DAY
  1558.
1559. Todd exited the house. Looking around. Everything is the same as his own world. The sky though was different.
  1560.
1561. Todd begins to question his reality.
  1562.
  1563. TODD
1564. How... how did you find me?
  1565.
  1566. TEDDY
1567. Well after I had killed him, I ran away with Jenn to a forest... during the night Jenn has ran away. While I was trying to find him, I found you.
  1568.
1569. Todd stands in front of Teddy hands on his shoulders.
  1570.
  1571. TODD
1572. I came here through a portle in a bunker... Jenn spilt water on it...
  1573.
  1574. Teddy stands there dumbfounded.
  1575.
  1576. TEDDY
1577. Do you think... do you think Jenn...
  1578.
  1579. TODD
  1580. Yes.
  1581.
1582. Todd comforts Teddy, pats him on the shoulders and walks towards the front door.
  1583.
  1584. TEDDY
  1585. Where are you going?
  1586.
  1587. TODD
1588. To figure out what’s going on.
  1589.
1590. Teddy contemplates for a bit. Todd chimes in after a moment of silence.
  1591.
  1592. TODD
  1593. You coming, *Tedd*
  1594.
  1595. TEDDY
1596. Yeah, why not. It beats sitting here with... well, nobody.
  1597.
1598. Todd steps out and holds the door for Teddy
  1599.
  1600. TEDDY
1601. Where are we even going to go.
  1602.
  1603. TODD
1604. Well if I’m correct, the nearest city is an 11 km hike. That means if we start walking now, we’ll be there before night...
  1605.
1606. Teddy look back at his garage.
  1607.
  1608. TEDDY
  1609. I have a better idea.
  1610.
1611. Teddy approaches his garage and lifts it open revealing the families bycicles. He hopes on to one of them, an. Todd follows shortly after.
  1612.
1613. They bike into the city...
  1614.
  1615. EXT.MASSIVECAVE.DUSK
  1616.
1617. Todd and Teddy ride through the gates of a broken down, apolcalyptic city; which had flags sporting a single lightning bolt sparking down the middle.
  1618.
1619. As the arrived up front. An alligator manifold and a lion manifold block their entry and ask for their identification.
  1620.
1621. They both pull off their scar and show the tag to the guards, both with lightning bolts. Identical to one another. In near perfect condition.
  1622.
1623. The guards is impressed and lets them both in.
  1624.
1625. As the step through the city the notices a large shift in brightness as the sun becomes visible and they were exiting a massive cave.
  1626.
1627. As they enter Todd is amazed. Todd finds it so similar yet everyone was different... and some things also changed.
  1628.
  1629. TEDDY
  1630. Well, what now?
  1631.
  1632. TODD
1633. The library might be a good place to start.
  1634.
  1635. TEDDY
1636. Yeah, good idea... let’s just hope nobody lit it on fire again!
  1637.
  1638. They both chuckle.
  1639.
1640. They make their way to the library.
  1641.
1642. As they stand out front. It looks old and in bad shape.
  1643.
  1644. INT.LIBRARY.NIGHT
  1645.
1646. The library is empty. It being night didn’t change anythjng; it is just a lot harder to see. Everything is dark.
  1647.
1648. Todd remembers he brought his flashlight and shines it in front of him. It was surprisingly clean.
  1649.
  1650. TODD
1651. Huh, this shouldn’t be too hard.
  1652.
  1653. TEDDY
1654. Yeah the archives are just in the basement.
  1655.
1656. They walk around the Library.
  1657.
1658. A staircase is found in a side room, leading down to the book archives.
  1659.
  1660. INT.BASEMENT
  1661.
1662. They descend a set of wooden stairs. They look in a book catulogue, a massive one. Todd recalls the name of the machine being “Javacom” and looks for an entry...
  1663.
1664. There is a a couple entries in the catlogue all from a book called “A truthful machine.” They both search through the bookshelves until the find the book.
  1665.
1666. Upon finding the book they read the summary on the back.
  1667.
  1668. It reads
  1669.
1670. A truthful machine recalls the manifolds discoveries of the god particle and it’s relation to energy.
  1671.
  1672. Todd is confused.
  1673.
  1674. TEDDY
1675. Do you not know what energy is? Like spirit energy?
  1676.
  1677. TODD
1678. What? No. In humans that’s just hormones and biology.
  1679.
  1680. TEDDY
1681. We have actual scientifically measurable spirit energy. Not debatable stuff!
  1682.
  1683. TODD
1684. I guess I’m not affected by this spirit energy because I’m a human...
  1685.
1686. Teddy looks over at Todd.
  1687.
  1688. TEDDY
  1689. That’s it!
  1690.
  1691. TODD
  1692. What’s it?
  1693.
1694. Teddy runs over to the catalogue an. Todd follows behind. Teddy arrives to it and flips to the word human.
  1695.
  1696. One result.
  1697.
1698. The result was an old archived farmers journal from around 1978. When they arrive they find it is from around the area before civil collapse.
  1699.
  1700. TODD
1701. Man this book is old...
  1702.
1703. They open the book to the page that was catologued.
  1704.
  1705. 03/09/1978
  1706.
1707. I was out in the field today and I ran into something that I can only assume to be an alien.
  1708.
1709. This creature looked to be of an ape but it talked to me. It wasn’t a manifold... It spoke to me in English. It told me it was a “human” and that it came through a portle in the forest. I wasn’t fooled. I shot it dead.
  1710.
1711. The next page shows images of a man with chunks of flesh missing.
  1712.
1713. Todd doesn’t look bothered an. Teddy is just weirded out.
  1714.
  1715. TODD
1716. This isn’t the first time this has happened but how does it even work? Who built it?
  1717.
1718. They decided the library didn’t provide much else. They accepted that this isn’t the first incident this has happened in.
  1719.
  1720. EXIT.CITY.DAY
  1721.
1722. Todd an. Teddy walk around the city for a while.
  1723.
  1724. INT.HOSPITAL
  1725.
1726. Todd an. Teddy walk into the hospital. They look for a floor map.
  1727.
1728. Upon finding the floor map, they read it and it gives them a list of the floors and what departments they hold.
  1729.
  1730. Teddy
  1731.
  1732. So... what now?
  1733.
  1734. TODD
1735. Hear me out but... what if the psych ward has any people who’ve... seen a human.
  1736.
  1737. TEDDY
1738. I guess a rant about a walking talking hairless ape would be considered as pretty nuts.
  1739.
1740. Teddy looks again at the map. He inspects it. The floor number is wing E, floor lower one.
  1741.
1742. They make their ways and follow the hall markers.
  1743.
1744. After taking an elevator they approach the receptionist.
  1745.
  1746. INT.E-L1
  1747.
  1748. TEDDY
1749. Uh, hi... do you mind if I ask you a really, really weird question?
  1750.
1751. The receptionist stares at Todd
  1752.
  1753. RECEPTIONIST
  1754. Uh... sure!
  1755.
  1756. TEDDY
1757. Have you ever heard stories of “humans” from any of the patients.
  1758.
  1759. No
