The Incentive test net is an exact copy of the Cardano Blockchain Mainnet. So ultimately it's a completely different blockchain, it cannot talk to the mainnet, nor can the mainnet interact with the testnet.

The testnet will run stakepools and allow participants to stake ADA for real rewards.

IOHK will make a copy of the mainnet with everyones ADA onto the testnet. There will be a different Daedalus or Yoroi to install which is linked to the testnet, this is where you will put in your seed words to get access to your ADA, which was copied from the mainnet.

So however much ADA you had at the time of the snapshot in either Daedalus or Yoroi (NOT ON A HARD WALLET), is how much you will have in the testnet.

Through either Daedalus or Yoroi you will have access to the stakepool list where you are able to stake your ADA.

To participate on the incentivised testnet  there are a few things you need to know:

- The date of the snapshot is in November 2019, exact day NOT YET KNOWN.

- Your ADA needs to either be in Yoroi or Daedalus for the snapshot, (NOT IN A HARD WALLET) this is because only Yoroi and Daedalus will be supported on the testnet. You will only be able to recover and use ADA on the test net that was in Daedalus or Yoroi wallets at the time of the snapshot. If you didn't have ADA in one of those wallets for the snapshot, there will be no way to access your ADA in the testnet and you will not be able to participate.

- Save your Seed words when you create your wallet on Daedalus and/or Yoroi (as you always should). These are the seed words that you will use on the test net version of Daedalus or Yoroi to access your copied ADA.

- The amount of ADA you have in Yoroi or Daedalus (or both) (NOT ON A HARD WALLET) at the time of the snapshot, is the amount of ADA you will have access to on the testnet. You can not add more ADA to the testnet after the snapshot.

- You do not need Daedalus or Yoroi open for the snapshot. You will be able to access your ADA on the testnet, as long as it's in one of those two wallets for the snapshot (NOT ON A HARD WALLET)

- Once the snapshot is complete you can put your mainnet ADA back wherever you want it, that ADA has nothing to do with the testnet.

- ADA on the testnet is not real, so you can't sell it etc. It can only be used for staking while the testnet is active, testnet ADA will then be deleted once Shelley goes to mainnet.

- Reward percentage is not confirmed yet.

- You can choose an address where you want reward ADA to be sent, however you can not access this ADA until the testnet is complete. Once it is complete and goes over to mainnet, the ADA you earned as rewards will be available for you to use as real ADA.

- The time frame for the incentive testnet is unknown, but it is believed that staking will go to mainnet sometime early 2020.

 PERSONAL SAFETY

We have recently become aware of people that unfortunately are victims to fraud and lost their ADA by falling for a scam.

As there will be a lot of people potentially moving their ADA, I strongly suspect criminals will try to exploit this by attempting to defraud people into sending their ADA to them. I wanted to give a few points on security through this period and to always note:

- Never give your seed words to anyone

-Never use a wallet which someone else set up, has access to or knows the seed words

- There are no giveaways or competitions for free ADA. NEVER give your ADA to anyone, including 'officials'.. We will never ask for your ADA, or tell you to send your ADA to a specific address. If we do, it is someone pretending to be us! IT'S A SCAM

- Please protect your currency, it has real value and it's not insured.

- Set your own wallet up for the snapshot - Do NOT let anyone else set it up for you or tell you what address to put your ADA in.. As long as your ADA is in Yoroi or Daedalus (NOT ON A HARD WALLET), it will be included in the snapshot.

- If you have any doubts / suspicions or just want to check the legitimacy of something, contact an admin through a way you know is legit.
