  1. It seems another soul has fallen victim to the danger of what is the anti vaccination movement.
  2.
  3. Lin-Manuel Miranda, in his song "Congratulations" for the musical Hamilton, used the following lines to describe Hamilton's behavior:
  4.
  5. You have invented a new kind of stupid
  6. A damage you can never undo kind of stupid
  7. An "open all the cages in the zoo" kind of stupid
  8. A "truly you didn't think this through" kind of stupid
  9.
  10. This amazingly, quite accurately describes this movement. Let's look into the evidence, shall we?
  11.
  12. The modern movement roots in a 1985 British research paper. This paper has been debunked numerous times. It seems you ignore these debunkings, do you not? Let me tell you: We are about to have this argument on fair grounds. In the words of Ben Shapiro, "Facts don't care about your feelings." But you're going to ignore that too, aren't you? I'm going to listen to your evidence. Would it not be an advantage to you if you didn't have to listen to me?
  13.
  14. Vaccines have been proven effective numerous times. Let's get a few examples:
  15.
  16. Ancient Egyptians injected themselves with a weaker variation of smallpox, called cowpox. Once they recovered, they were immune to both cowpox and chickenpox
  17. Polio has been eradicated due to vaccination
  18. Measles declined due to higher vaccine avalibility
  19.
  20. From this evidence, any rational person can conclude that vaccines are effective. However, some do not. Some reasons include:
  21.
  22. Belief #1: the contents of a vaccine are unknown
  23. Belief #2: Vaccines they did not exist thousands of years ago, thenceforth leading to the belief that they are not needed today.
  24.
  25. There are multiple reasons both are incorrect:
  26.
  27. Belief #1: It is known what the contents of vaccines are. The contents do not exactly matter; as long as the benefits outweigh the costs, it is a sound investment.
  28. Belief #2: A proto-form of vaccination known as inoculation (Vaccination is just a fancy form of inoculation!) was done by multiple ancient civilizations, including Egypt and India.
  29.
  30. The burden of proof (which was in fact originally on you, but you deny it) is on you.
