Desna and the plague

I need ironing out for my oneshot idea here.

What I was trying to go for is a story that has all beginning players come upon a dastardly ragged man coming from the other side of the road telling them of the ruined state that is the next hamlet, once prosperous now under a plague.


Upon reaching, each person will reach there at different intervals because each one of them is a traveler merchant or some other type that would need to journey, whether some of them teamed together or not is up to them.


Throughout town and their interactions they will see various npcs with red Scabs around their bodies some worse than others, which effectively killed and driven out a lot of residents.

The tavern is empty aside from the barkeep and a "leper" stationed there from his boss drinking.

Outside is a kid playing alone and a group of people waiting by the mansion to get medical treatment from the town chief who is also the doctor.


Depending on how they tackle it they will be exploring town until eventually they get acquainted with the doctor one way or another and has them disband the line to wait a few hours and deliver the medicine to each of their horses gathering information of how the plague came to be

-Diseased pale man came in and a few weeks later these events happened.
-The last breath of life anyone draws with the plague is at the surgery table with the chief unfortunately as he sometimes brings back people alive or dead depending on the severity of the plague.

- The town's history is also learned, and how the people worked at the beginning with the doctor.

After their trip they find the doc at the office, after talking he sees the plague start its symptoms on someone but it's a ruse, as he was the one causing the marks so through some foiling battle insues.

Alternatively they come a bit Early and find him not in there office but in the basement with a caged white eyed girl, now he threatens to kill the party because they discovered his daughter who turns out she's been infected with vampiric influence so he keeps feeding her till he finds a cure.

After battle it up to them whether they kill the girl or leave her be or do something else and bring them man to judgement.
