  3. Tools you will need.
  4.
  5. Cheat Engine http://www.cheatengine.org/
  6.
  7. Main Menu Mod http://www.h2pcmt.com/Cartographer/COOP/COOP%20Menu.7z
  8.
  9. Coop Cheat Table https://mega.nz/#!14FzzCIL!RSKD-LlwOFbhxtEJ0Bg24ysfptBMShXGcbOgO-tVuKg
  10.
  11. 1. Install Cheat Engine so that you can use the cheat table to enable coop. Pay attention to it while installing because it will want to install some third party software.
  12.
  13. 2. Replace your mainmenu.map with the one provided. This will let you choose campaign maps from the multiplayer menu easily.
  14.
  15. 3. Start a lobby and pick a campaign map. For the gametype you can have something like team slayer that you named coop or campaign though this part doesn't really matter. Just make sure the gametype you are using is some form of slayer. Keep in mind that at this point no one can be in your lobby. If you start a coop lobby and there is another player in there other than yourself and you do the next steps you will crash. Only allow players to join after you have done the next few steps.
  16.
  17. 4. Once ingame you should notice you're floating above the level somewhere. Either looking out towards a sea with a spining camera or just out of bounds. In order to fix this you need to go to your cheat engine table and change engine mode from 2 to 1 with 2 being the engine mode for multiplayer and 1 being the engine mode for singleplayer. Restart to last checkpoint or the level from the esc menu after this. You should start the level fine now.
  18.
  19. 5. Now it is fine for people to attempt to join. They will not spawn however due to coop spawns not being enabled. Change coop spawns from 0 to 1. Keep in mind to do this after the level restart. if you do it before you will crash.
  20.
  21. 6. People have now joined but they may tell you that they cannot see their weapons or first person arms. You can fix this by changing the biped depending on what mission you are running. Have said people take the cheat table and change their biped in the list from 2 to 1 or 0. 1 is the Arbiter and 0 being Master Chief. They will need to kill themselves once after this and they should see them fine then. They can also change engine mode to see things like Arbiters ability to turn invisible or Chief's flashlight. Having them changing their team index to yours will also have them ally with yourself to stop registering them as an enemy.
  22.
  23. 7. You can use the party privacy address to close the game and open it when people are ready to join. Go to cheat engine and find the party privacy section.
  24.
  25. 0 = Open
  26. 1 = ???Xbox Live Gold???
  27. 2 = Invite Only
  28. 3 = Closed
  29.
  30. Change party privacy to 3 if you want your lobby to not show up on the network list or change it to 0 if you do.
  31.
  32. Things To Keep In Mind:
  33.
  34. Crashes will happen often. Most things will not sync. AI positions do seem to sync for the most part. Host should never be left behind and should always be first. Host is the one that loads many of the encounters and clients going ahead can cause issues and crashes.
  35.
  36. There is no chat ingame. You will have to find another method to communicate such as Discord server.
  37.
  38. Don't bother anyone about this now unless you are the whizkid who is going to code this into the DLL.
  39.
  40. Game will crash if all players in the match die.
  41.
  42. Cinematics do not sync and can cause crashes. Skip them when possible.
  43.
  44. If you somehow make it to the end of a level the game will crash.
  45.
  46. Level Status as of Project Cartographer 0.4.0.2:
  47. (Working here is defined as the ability for the host and the client to connect without issues. It does not mean that the coop experience as a whole will work or that some levels don't crash more than others.)
  48. The Heretic - Player joins but due to no script sync clients just spawn in the council room.
  49. The Armory - Working
  50. Cairo Station - Crash after host ends first cinematic.
  51. Outskirts - Starts fine but clients can't see their camera view and instead see what one would see if they did not switch engine mode and restart.
  52. Metropolis - Starts fine but clients can't see their camera view and instead see what one would see if they did not switch engine mode and restart.
  53. The Arbiter - Working under certain conditions - See notes
  54. The Oracle - Crash on player join.
  55. Delta Halo - Working under certain conditions - See notes
  56. Regret - Working under certain conditions - See notes
  57. Sacred Icon - Crash on player join.
  58. Quarantine Zone - Working
  59. Gravemind - Starts fine but clients can't see their camera view and instead see what one would see if they did not switch engine mode and restart.
  60. High Charity - Crash on player join
  61. Uprising - Crash on player join. If you get past this by only switching engine mode to 1 and then waiting for the players to join before turning on coop spawns then clients will crash.
  62. The Great Journey - Working
  63.
  64. Notes
  65.
  66. Delta Halo - This level will only work if the host has started the mission in solo on normal and saved and quit after a checkpoint. After that the host may host a game and may only change engine mode and restart. Playing with any other options will cause a crash. Once the level is up and all players the host wishes to have join have joined then may the host set the regular coop setting like coop spawns.
  67.
  68. The Arbiter - This level will only work if the host has started the mission in solo on normal and saved and quit after a checkpoint. After that the host may host a game and may only change engine mode and restart. Playing with any other options will cause a crash. Once the level is up and all players the host wishes to have join have joined then may the host set the regular coop setting like coop spawns. Clients will not be able to progress after the first loading section due to BSP loading not being synced.
  69.
  70. Regret - This level will only work if the host has started the mission in solo on normal and saved and quit after a checkpoint. After that the host may host a game and may only change engine mode and restart. Playing with any other options will cause a crash. Once the level is up and all players the host wishes to have join have joined then may the host set the regular coop setting like coop spawns.
  71.
  72. Flood levels - Flood levels will tend to crash eventually no matter what. This is because of something related to creatures. Flood infection forms have a char setting called swarm that gives them the logic they have. Having this enabled in engine mode 2 causes the creature to crash the game. Removing the swarm check the .char tag should solve the crashes related to this but it will cause the flood infection form to not spawn.
