  1. September 11, 2001
  2. September 11, 2001 was a turning point in the course of security in America. The attacks that took place on this date opened the eyes of the government and showed them that more security checks need to be done to ensure the safety of the American people. Before the attacks, anyone could walk into an airport without needing to go through the extensive security checks that are seen today. However, now in most public places that have a large crowd of people, such as concerts, sports games, etc, security checks are necessary.
  3. September 11 is a date that is permanently scarred into the minds of most people born before the 1990’s. On this morning in 2001, at 8:45 AM, a Boeing 767 smashed into the north World Trade Center tower. It hit right by the 80th floor of the 110-story building. Hundreds of people were killed the instant the plane hit, and hundreds more were trapped in the building above the impact site. At 9:03 AM, as dozens of video cameras were rolling, a second plane hit the south tower near the 60th floor.
  4. At first, bystanders thought it was a horrific accident, however after the second plane hit, it was clear this was no accident. America was under attack by terrorists. Flaming debris showered the streets and dust clouds filled the lungs of unfortunate bystanders.
