- 00[14:24] <chattyLibrarian> So what happened?
- 03[14:24] * Retrieving #sessiontao_OOC modes...
- [14:24] <capriciousGarison> da
- [14:25] <~reflexiveHipster> 02Blue does not like my method of making things "fair"
- [14:25] <~reflexiveHipster> 02That is to say, random selection.
- [14:25] <~reflexiveHipster> 02She had this big arguement about how I randomly selected which people would be on which team
- [14:25] <~reflexiveHipster> 02dark team or light team.
- [14:25] <~reflexiveHipster> 02Last session, we had both the time player and the space player on the light team.
- [14:26] <~reflexiveHipster> 02Weeks after the fact, she decided that was a problem and made a big deal out of it.
- [14:26] <~reflexiveHipster> 02Guys, I trust you, alright? So will you please not tell blue what I'm saying?
- 00[14:27] <chattyLibrarian> It does sound like it would make a problem, having those two powerful players on the same team.
- [14:27] <~reflexiveHipster> 02Yeah.
- [14:27] <~reflexiveHipster> 02We hadn't realized at the time, though.
- [14:28] <~reflexiveHipster> 02So that's why I'm here, talking to you guys
- [14:28] <~reflexiveHipster> 02Are you okay with having your characters be randomly chosen for a dimension side?
- 00[14:29] <chattyLibrarian> Doom, I'm sorry, but when you say 'Big Deal' I don't know whether it agrees with my definition. Did it grow to a full-blown argument, or did she just keep bringing it up?
- [14:29] <~reflexiveHipster> 02I'm not sure, really. I hardly remember.
- [14:29] <~reflexiveHipster> 02People have said that I shouldn't be "denying people the ability to chose their own side"
- 00[14:29] <chattyLibrarian> Well, if you go random, make sure that time and space are on opposite sides. They're the powerful players that we know of.
- 00[14:30] <chattyLibrarian> That doesn't fit with random for ONE player, but the rest can still be random
- [14:30] <~reflexiveHipster> 02That's the thing, I don't know if I should chose random.
- [14:30] <~reflexiveHipster> 02I'm asking what you think.
- [14:30] <~reflexiveHipster> 02Are you okay with me chosing your side for you?
- 00[14:30] <chattyLibrarian> Well, that's what I think. Random is good, as long as you deny that random for the one 'other super-player'
- [14:30] <~reflexiveHipster> 02super-player?
- 00[14:31] <chattyLibrarian> Space and Time
- 00[14:31] <chattyLibrarian> Time can change things that have happened, and Space is making the universe
- [14:31] <~reflexiveHipster> 02Hmm.
- 00[14:31] <chattyLibrarian> You get those two on the same side and they're overpowered.
- [14:31] <~reflexiveHipster> 02The problem is.
- 00[14:31] <chattyLibrarian> alone, the space isn't super, I guess
- [14:31] <~reflexiveHipster> 02I can't deny random for one super-player
- [14:32] <~reflexiveHipster> 02Because the other can still land on the same side.
- [14:32] <~reflexiveHipster> 02I'd have to chose which goes on which side.
- [14:32] <~reflexiveHipster> 02I could simply randomly select one player, and have the other player go to the opposite side chosen
- 00[14:32] <chattyLibrarian> What I'm saying is random one, then put the other on the other team.
- [14:32] <~reflexiveHipster> 02cool story bro
- [14:32] <~reflexiveHipster> 02:P
- [14:33] <capriciousGarison> brb
- [14:33] <~reflexiveHipster> 02I dunno, sounds good.
- [14:33] <~reflexiveHipster> 02But it's not the chosing part I'm trying to talk to you about.
- [14:34] <~reflexiveHipster> 02In a sense, I'm asking for your consent
- 00[14:34] <chattyLibrarian> You choosing it all sounds good to me.
- [14:34] <~reflexiveHipster> 02I need to know clearly that you are okay with me choosing it.
- [14:34] <~reflexiveHipster> 02perferrably in a quotable fashion
- [14:35] <~reflexiveHipster> 02... Hmm.
- 00[14:35] <chattyLibrarian> You can set the side for Jenna.
- 00[14:36] <chattyLibrarian> That's quotable.
- [14:36] <~reflexiveHipster> 02Actually, no, I think I need to go back a bit and explain
- [14:36] <~reflexiveHipster> 02I've totally forgotten about what this means to you guys
- [14:36] <~reflexiveHipster> 02the sides, that is
- [14:37] <~reflexiveHipster> 02Basically, the dimensions will sort of... influence your character, in a sense.
- [14:37] <~reflexiveHipster> 02If you're on the light side, you might become a little more optimistic
- [14:37] <~reflexiveHipster> 02Or cheerful
- [14:38] <~reflexiveHipster> 02Or perhaps a little more mature?
- [14:38] <~reflexiveHipster> 02The sides are, in essence, open to interpretation.
- [14:39] <~reflexiveHipster> 02As long as you understand that the light side is about unity and hope, and the dark side is about chaos and destruction
- [14:39] <~reflexiveHipster> 02You can decide how this affects your character
- [14:39] <~reflexiveHipster> 02whether it be minor or major
- [14:39] <~reflexiveHipster> 02gradual or sudden
- [14:40] <~reflexiveHipster> 02It's up to you to decide just what the dimension does to your character.
- 00[14:40] <chattyLibrarian> Hold on
- 00[14:40] <chattyLibrarian> YOu said before
- 00[14:40] <chattyLibrarian> that both sides had the same goal
- 00[14:40] <chattyLibrarian> just different means to reach it
- [14:40] <~reflexiveHipster> 02Yeah.
- 00[14:40] <chattyLibrarian> Is that still true?
- [14:41] <~reflexiveHipster> 02Imagine looking for something in a pile of socks. A dark player might scatter the socks around to look for the thing, while a light player might sort through the pile.
- [14:42] <~reflexiveHipster> 02Does that make sense?
- 00[14:42] <chattyLibrarian> Yeah.
- 00[14:43] <chattyLibrarian> "there's something in this maze? *breaks through it* Found it!" vs "Something's here? *solves the maze legitimately* found it!"
- 00[14:43] <chattyLibrarian> By the way, I just remembered.
- [14:43] <~reflexiveHipster> 02?
- 00[14:44] <chattyLibrarian> How are you handling God Tiers?
- [14:44] <~reflexiveHipster> 02Cool story bro.
- [14:44] <~reflexiveHipster> 02Haven't decided very indepth
- [14:44] <capriciousGarison> i have to go sorry
- [14:44] <~reflexiveHipster> 02I do too.
- [14:44] <capriciousGarison> someone pastebin all that for me please
- 00[14:44] <chattyLibrarian> Are we leaving them out, randomly deciding, or specific characters?
- 00[14:44] <chattyLibrarian> Well, take care.
- 00[14:44] <chattyLibrarian> Food for thought on your journey^
- [14:45] <~reflexiveHipster> 02I will pastebin it later, mal.
- [14:45] <capriciousGarison> thanks
- [14:45] <~reflexiveHipster> 02And Stroke, I might have time to explain this now
- [14:45] <~reflexiveHipster> 02Here's the rundown on godtiers
- [14:46] <~reflexiveHipster> 02There will be 3 godtiered characters. Two of them have been decided, along with a third godtier who will be chosen when it's a good time for it.
- [14:46] <~reflexiveHipster> 02The two pre-determined characters are (here's your chance to object) Jass's character and mine.
- [14:47] <~reflexiveHipster> 02the reason they will be godtiering is simple.
- 11[14:47] * capriciousGarison (~DocMalsyn@Rizon-6B59132B.austin.res.rr.com) Quit
- [14:47] <~reflexiveHipster> 02The incipisphere is split into two dimensions, light and dark.
- [14:47] <~reflexiveHipster> 02To merge them, it takes an awful lot of power.
- [14:48] <~reflexiveHipster> 02Lora and Avery (jass's and mine respectively) are the heros of shade and light (also respectively)
- [14:48] <~reflexiveHipster> 02So they are the right people for the job.
- 00[14:50] <chattyLibrarian> Hmm.
- 00[14:50] <chattyLibrarian> I would have thought you'd have all the players work together on that.
- [14:50] <~reflexiveHipster> 02The third player will be godtiering for a reason I sorta forgot, but it was decided because blue was being, and pardon my french, an incredible bitch
- 00[14:51] <chattyLibrarian> To be perfectly honest, having the Trues alone be the gods isn't fair.
- [14:51] <~reflexiveHipster> 02Yeah.
- 00[14:51] <chattyLibrarian> A third, "judge" god sounds perfectly reasonable
- 00[14:51] <chattyLibrarian> Hard part about that is they'll be on a side.
- [14:51] <~reflexiveHipster> 02Yep.
- [14:52] <~reflexiveHipster> 02Sburb is designed to be symettrical
- [14:52] <~reflexiveHipster> 02So we can't have an odd number of players
- 00[14:52] <chattyLibrarian> WHich it wasn't for Sollux, keep in mind.
- [14:52] <~reflexiveHipster> 02Yeah...
- [14:52] <~reflexiveHipster> 02But then we'd have a person on both sides and a person on no sides
- 00[14:52] <chattyLibrarian> Derse had seven dreamselves, Prospit had six
- [14:52] <~reflexiveHipster> 02Hard.
- 00[14:53] <chattyLibrarian> Actually, Aradia did have a derse dreamself
- [14:53] <~reflexiveHipster> 02Yeah.
- [14:53] <~reflexiveHipster> 028
- 00[14:53] <chattyLibrarian> that's why Derse had 7
- 00[14:53] <chattyLibrarian> Sollux had his extra dreamself there
- 00[14:53] <chattyLibrarian> to make the seventh
- [14:53] <~reflexiveHipster> 02Oh kk
- [14:53] <~reflexiveHipster> 02I dunno.
- 00[14:54] <chattyLibrarian> But yeah.
- 00[14:54] <chattyLibrarian> A judge will be difficult with this mind-altering game.
- [14:54] <~reflexiveHipster> 02It'll be hard deciding who will godtier.
- [14:54] <~reflexiveHipster> 02Blue proved she wasn't anywhere close to as mature as she said she was
- 00[14:54] <chattyLibrarian> You could have the traitor character that... 2? had
- 00[14:55] <chattyLibrarian> Remember Sane?
- [14:55] <~reflexiveHipster> 02Sort of, why
- 00[14:55] <chattyLibrarian> Traitor of the session.
- [14:55] <~reflexiveHipster> 02k.
- [14:55] <~reflexiveHipster> 02we had decided the most mature way to decide the 3rd godtier character, last session
- [14:55] <~reflexiveHipster> 02was by random selection
- [14:56] <~reflexiveHipster> 02Everybody agreed that they wouldn't argue, because everybody had a fair chance to be chosen
- [14:56] <~reflexiveHipster> 02Then blue just bursts out, hours later
- [14:56] <~reflexiveHipster> 02Wait, shit, no, I forgot I was a selfish bitch, I disagree with the random selection!!!
- [14:56] <~reflexiveHipster> 02I hope you understand why I did not want blue here for this discussion.
- [14:57] <~reflexiveHipster> 02Anyways.
- [14:57] <~reflexiveHipster> 02I'll be logging off now.
- 00[14:57] <chattyLibrarian> okay.
- [14:57] <~reflexiveHipster> 02This sucks so much ass now
- 00[14:57] <chattyLibrarian> You wanna turn off invite then?
- [14:57] <~reflexiveHipster> 02I have to find another person to join the session.
- [14:58] <~reflexiveHipster> 02I don't have any tiiiiime for this.
- 03[14:58] * reflexiveHipster sets mode: -i
- [14:58] <~reflexiveHipster> 02Thanks for reminding me.
- [14:58] <~reflexiveHipster> 02I always forget to do that.
- 11[14:58] * ~reflexiveHipster (~doomzero7@Rizon-30A2E6BD.cpe.net.cable.rogers.com) Quit
- 03[15:00] * azureMagic (~BlueMagic@Rizon-1A04D348.oc.oc.cox.net) has joined #sessiontao_OOC
- [15:00] <azureMagic> Oh. My. God.
- [15:00] <azureMagic> That.
- 00[15:00] <chattyLibrarian> ?
- [15:00] <azureMagic> Was hilarious.
