- The Han dynasty came after the Qin dynasty. It was a great period for China, They settled the civil war and established a golden age for China. The Han dynasty had a social structure that placed people above others giving some superiority over others. However, the place of someone on the hierarchy was determined by their occupiation and not just birth. The peasents were treated better than before and the dynasty also managed to make contact with India, defend China from the Huns and also double the size of the empire. The Han dynasty also created the silk road which resulted in a age of trade. The people thought that the emperor was a divine ruler given the mandate of heaven and thus, accepted it. The han dynasty implemented and focused on Confucianism, a system required people to respect their superiors and the elderly. It also made people want to strive to become a better person. Confucias was a man that created a system that would ensure a good rule and tried to have one of the three kings of the then warring states to implement it. However, they all refused but when they were united, the emperor implemented it. The Han dynasty improved the state of the empire and was so good that some people still say 'we're are people of the Han'. During their rule, they invented paper and had some of the first offical historians were taught in the way of confucianism. The Han dynasty was overtaken for a short while when one of the emperors was a child. But it was taken back and it remained in power for long time. Back then, it was believed that a dynasty would last until it lost the mandate of heaven by doing unjust or bad things. For example, some dynasties were believed to have stopped because the emperor ate the flesh of his enemies, and so on. After the fall of the Han dynasty there was no one strong enough to unite them and so that resulted in the period called the three kingdoms. The influence of the Han dynastry was enourmous and it can still be seen in China's governing system today.
