  5. During World War II, a bro existed. This bro was very bad, and his name was Adolf Hitler. Adolf Hitler was the leader of the Nazi Party, and responsible for the propaganda that led to the deaths of 11,000,00 human beings. He was a smart guy, though. Some of his homeboys got this great idea for a plan that would keep Nazi Germany in control of its people if something bad happened. Getting bombed by the Allied Forces would have been bad, and so would some other stuff. It all sounds pretty boring until you learn that a couple of generals turned the tables on Hitler's Homeboy's plan. General Friedrich Olbricht, Major General Henning von Tresckow, and Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg modified the plan with the intention of using it to take control of German cities, disarm the SS, and arrest the Nazi leadership once Hitler had been brutally murdered. They were pretty confident. They had a really good plan, and it took a while to come up with, but it ultimately failed. With such a catchy name, you would think Operation Valkyrie would have led to a little more than a few popular movies.
  6. Basically, the plan was to fool the Reserve Army into the capture and destruction of the civilian government of wartime Germany by making them believe that the SS had tried an “overthrow” that involved the assassination of Adolf Hitler. They needed some support for this, and they had it. A bro by the name of Stauffenberg decided to carry out both the assassination attempt and the Valkyrie operation, which greatly decreased the chance of success. (He did it anyway, because he had the WILL. AND WHERE THERE'S A WILL, THERE'S A WAY) After two failed attempts, Stauffenberg planted the bomb on July 20 and scuttled on back to Berlin. After he had discovered that the bomb had not killed Hitler, Fromm ordered the executions of a whole bunch of important Nazi militants. Shortly after midnight, the condemned men were led to a mound of earth back lit by idle vehicles where each was executed by firing squad in a courtyard. It must have been tragic. Needless to restate, their plan failed. It was a good attempt, though. That's what they'll be remembered for.
