- Known Issues:
- There are ongoing known issues with warp randomisation. Many of these are handled in some way by item randomisation.
- What if a location containing one of these items cannot be reached?
- An item should never be placed in a location you cannot access, all the required items to beat the game are available to defeat Red. If you find any location where the item is vanilla (that would be one of the items in the item logic, so not berry trees, etc.) report this a bug as it might be thinking you could not access the location.
- Getting Stuck
- The item logic assumes you can reach a location if you take a warp to get there. The base logic uses 'Warp Groups' to determine traversing a set of groups. A warp group is defined as a group of warps you can always traverse the entire group regardless of any progress item/flag. 'Transitions' are permitted as the means to cross between two warp groups based on Progress items, such as Surf.
- If you can reach a location therefore, the logic assumes you are safe. The warp logic does NOT take into consideration the ability to go back through one-way warps. This is more of a warp-rando issue, which will eventually take this into consideration. However, this does mean that jumping a ledge might mean you cannot return, but could also still lead to an item, as it is deemed possible.
- There is not yet logic for these for required items, but if you have ideas on preventing some of these happy to discuss. Always carrying escape ropes and saving freqently is recommended.
- Note: It is possible to get completely softlocked when clearing out Slowpoke Well. Do not clear Slowpoke Well until you have found Kurts House to unlock Slowpoke Well. If you CAN get to Kurts House but only via jumping a ledge, items will still be in logic for this & slowpoke well and can lead to a complete softlock. Being warped to Kurts House after Slowpoke well will softlock you sometimes, but if it is a closed warp, be safe in the knowledge it should all be out of logic. Kurt full-heals you as well, so poisoning is not a valid strategy.
- The past two roms I've played had BAD logic:
- - Dropping down the hole in Blackthorn Gym leads to Kurts House, so it was in logic. However, after being warped to Kurts after Slowpoke Well, the only way to escape was to faint to the trainer in the gym.
- - One way passage through Tin Tower 5F lead to Kurts House. The only way out of this one is escape rope/using dig. If there had been an overworld inbetween Tin & Kurts, escape rope would not work and Fly would be required, but this is NOT yet in logic to determine.
