  1. [4:45:27 PM] Gentry(☣Poison☣): I just signed in T_T
  2. [4:46:28 PM] Gentry(☣Poison☣): And the only reason you don't see any bronies is because they're not as obvious.
  3. [4:46:48 PM] Gentry(☣Poison☣): Cause they're prolly afraid of taking all the crap from shitty anti bronies
  4. [4:47:06 PM] Sean M.: *picture of smiling jesus pointing with thumbs up*
  5. [4:47:10 PM] Sean M.: Anti-brony?
  6. [4:47:11 PM] Sean M.: Respect.
  7. [4:47:21 PM] Gentry(☣Poison☣): Psh.
  8. [4:47:34 PM] Gentry(☣Poison☣): You earn it,not demand it.
  9. [4:49:18 PM] Gentry(☣Poison☣): Honestly,I've come to the conclusion that anti-bronies are a lost cause and grew up with some problems.MLP is actually a FAMILY TV show, stated by Lauren Faust herself.Everyone can enjoy it.Why the hell should people judge others for being different in that sense?
  10. [4:51:03 PM] Sean M.: 1. I have had various problems in my life, none of which relate to my dislike of bronies.
  11. 2. That's implying that everyone in your family gives a shit about cartoons, much less my little pony.
  12. 3. Implying Everyone WOULD enjoy it.
  13. 4. I hate bronies because they're the most annoying things that have ever existed since air planes.
  14. [4:54:24 PM] Gentry(☣Poison☣): 1.Could have grown up through judgment and personal problems relating to a dislike of change, otherwise known as a fandom for a family show in this case
  15.
  16. 2.Please explain,I never said anyone cared.
  17.
  18. 3.I said CAN,not WOULD.
  19.
  20. 4.Not all bronies are the same, you're just very close minded.
  21. [4:57:40 PM] Sean M.: 1. /me used to hate gays and furries, is now a bisexual scalie with a boyfriend
  22. 2. Because you said that it was a family show, meaning that family would get together to watch it. Or you could just say its a children's show, and actually mean the truth.
  23. 3. Note I said Implying, because you were talking about how people can watch it, and if they watch it, they would like it. Not how I watched 1-3 episodes of MLP, and didn't like it at all. Story was boring, dialogue was horrible, and the animation looked like mspaint.
  24. 4. Yes, every single brony is annoying, and behave almost the exact same way.
  25. [5:07:41 PM] Gentry(☣Poison☣): 1. Then you're just intolerant?
  26.
  27. 2. It's a family show, meaning a family could get together and enjoy it if that's what they want to do,it's not like we're holding a gun to their head and telling them to watch it.
  28.
  29. 3.I never said they would like it if they watched it.I said they could watch it if they wanted to.If you don't like it,that's fine by me,I could care less.I have plenty of friends that don't like the show. And it's not some action horror movie,it's not gonna be a perfect masterpiece every time. The dialogue wasn't actually all that bad,it's just the moments where it was casual,it didn't need to sound serious. And what's so bad about MS Paint?
  30.
  31. 4.No,you obviously haven't gotten the chance to talk to a whole community like I have.EVERY brony is different, some are shy and won't talk to a soul, others are very chatty and friendly, some are also popular around other branches of society.Bronies aren't just black and white, hence the rainbow pony featuring bronies. There are some bronies like me who ironically love to light things on fire, play the scariest video games to date, and listen to some of the heaviest metal, and are completely straight.Others like soft dubstep and MLP songs, and are bisexual or homosexual.ALL of us are different, one way or another. It's a little ironic that I still consider you a friend when you constantly poke fun at me and the others for being bronies, and we say nothing about you fapping to anthromorphic reptiles.See through the eyes of one of us for once, not in the sense of liking MLP,but to care about a friend no matter their preferences.
  32. [5:17:41 PM] Sean M.: Well for one thing, I'm not intolerant, I give everyone I meet a chance, if they fuck it up, I don't like them. Telling me "I'm a brony" and proceeding to change your avatar to a pony or show me something pony related will instantly make me not like you for the first, second, or even third impression.
  33. The dialogue IS bad, because it sounds like it could be the script for just about any kid's show. also, I never mentioned that there was action or anything and that it was bad. The animation is okay, be it still looks too simple and mspainty to be suitable for my taste. If I ever watched it, it wouldn't before long, which same goes for any children's cartoon with animation and art is horribly simple.
  34.
  35. Also, It's not what the personality of the brony is, it's that almost all of them are annoying and a displeasure to be around. Why? Because they plaster their shit everywhere. A shy brony? Don't like to express your bronyism casually? You have gained respect from me. I don't like people who's usernames are the characters or something retardedly childish, related to mlp. NONE of you are different in this sense, except for the latter.
  36.
  37. Also, here's the thing about me. Yes I'm a scalie. No, I don't just fap to anthro-reptiles. I fap to many other things. Not just that, but I just like reptiles, especially snakes and dragons. Considering that MLP is about boring equine making friends, it has no appeal to me whatsoever, even if my previous complaints were satisfied. Being a scalie to me, is just representing why you're a scalie. I don't plaster "I'M A SCALIE" everywhere, I don't involve it in almost ANY conversation, and those who I do involve it with, either brought it up, or are furries/scalies themselves who don't mind talking about it. Scalies/Furries have no particular show, they're just people who represent their favorite animals. Granted there are certain furries and scalies I don't like, actually there's a whole chunk of them I don't like, but that's part of a fandom. Every fandom has "that shitty part" of it. Bronies have a common "shitty part" which only a select few escape from, and that's the problem from before.
  38. [5:26:12 PM] Gentry(☣Poison☣): Alright,you say you're tolerant,yet once someone says they're a brony,you don't like them.Makes perfect sense.
  39.
  40. And I was giving an example of what you fap to,I wasn't trying to generalize. And not all bronies yell "I'm a brony" at the top of their lungs out in the middle of a crowd. In fact,I have yet to meet a brony that does. Those who wear pony things and have usernames based on a character are just appreciating the show or roleplaying.I doubt the brony shirts are worn to flaunt the fact that they're bronies, more in the sense that they're just proud enough to be open about it.Those who do end up just bragging about it are pretty easy to avoid, seeing how there's not a lot of them that parade pony things around just to brag.
  41. [5:27:30 PM] Gentry(☣Poison☣): And of course it looks a little MSPainty,it's a cartoon,I've seen way worse. And if you wanna talk about dialogue,I'd like valid proof that you can do better.
  42. [5:33:01 PM] Sean M.: Yes, I'm tolerant to good people. Bronies do not act like good people, they act like annoying people. I don't like annoying people.
  43. Also, most bronies do "yell i'm a brony", and yes, most are "proud to be one", which I've never figured out why you'd have pride in being something, I'm a scalie, and I don't have scalie pride, because its just redundant. What will I accomplish by wearing a shirt that says "I'm a scalie and proud to be one". For what? A couple high fives and maybe some "ur a faget" shout outs? You shouldn't have to "role play" as someone from the show, it shows you're not creative. I mean, do you know how many Twilight Sparkles and Fluttershy's i've seen in the past >>3 months<<? About 20, all different people. Yeah that's real creative. I chose my username from a comination of sources.
  44. You can't defend an animation's horrible looks by saying, "It's a cartoon". If you saw someone incredibly ugly, and you said "Wow, that person is ugly" I wouldn't respond by saying, "Of course its ugly, its a human."
  45. My point wasn't wheather or not I can write better dialogue. Because I can't, and I admit that. I blow dick at writing. But I've seen MUCH better writting than some of the MLP episodes I've seen. The voice acting is meh, but all the voices are too high pitched and annoying, couldn't they have SOME kind of mature person in that show? Preferrablly one that doesn't sound like it recently inhaled helium?
  46. [5:43:25 PM] Gentry(☣Poison☣): Bronies are very good people.Their kind acts made it as far as news reports in papers and on TV.
  47. And where in hell have you been to see MOST bronies yell "I'm a brony?" And yeah,a lot are proud to be one, because the show has morals that a lot of people take seriously, which is good, spreading niceness and stuff like that is good.Bronies and scalies are two very different things. And sometimes yes, people do roleplay as show characters, and it actually does take some creativity because the characters are dynamic and don't react to the same problem with the same solution, and act differently at certain times, and it takes creativity to see how they would act at certain points when in certain situations. And honestly,I would reply saying "Of course it's ugly,it's a human" in a sense that we ALL are ugly,in some way, shape,or form.
  48.
  49. And yes, there are some mature sounding characters, some even being the mane six,or even a background character or just some character that has a big role in the show, but isn't a main character. There are PLENTY.
  50. And of course, there's always better writing out there,I mean,it's only a family show, the expectations aren't exactly set by Oscar critics...
  51. [5:45:49 PM] Sean M.: Well first of all, Furries and such have been in papers and in several sections long before bronies popped up. Also considering bronies are massive attention whores, its not very hard to spot them. You can't see them because you ARE one. I've noticed it because i've read and heard about this shit before i became a scalie.
  52. Also, If you haven't figured out that being nice to people is a necessity to getting around and making friends, then you have some issues you need a therapist to fix, not a children's show. In fact that can only make it worse.
  53. [5:47:58 PM] Sean M.: "And where in hell have you been to see MOST bronies yell "I'm a brony?" Its called the internet. Its also happened to me while walking in public. Literally. Also, saying that all humans are ugly is like saying saying that all colors are actually just blue.
  54. Main*, and I've never heard a single one, or even seen one that looked remotely mature. If it was mature, it'd still have shitty dialogue.
  55. [5:48:35 PM] Sean M.: P.s., your show doesn't need to be written by Shakespear to have good writing. Ed Edd n Eddy is the best example i have, and if we go outside the box, Silent Hill 2. Both have extremely well written plots.
  56. [5:50:04 PM] Sean M.: (just in case you didn't see it, your arguements are getting significantly easier to counter)
  57. [5:57:42 PM] Gentry(☣Poison☣): Uhm,okay,I'm not talking time-wise things, here,I don't care who came first,I'm saying it happened. And yes,I am a brony, but trust me,in the community I'm around, there ARE massive attention seekers,so I can agree with you on that, partially. Not all bronies need attention 24/7 like myself,I stay by myself out of school. And I never said people rely on a show to learn kindness, but it is something that not EVERYONE knows that well.
  58.
  59. And how does saying that all humans are ugly apply to that? And no,you wouldn't have heard any mature characters, because they're not there all the time.
  60.
  61. I was giving an example, what I was trying to get across is that there's always gonna be a better plot and dialogue. It's all what people like personally.I know things that have better plots than MLP,but MLP is just something that also appeals to me in that sense,so it's not like that's the only reason I like it.
  62.
  63. And...I really don't care how easy it is to counter my arguments,my points are very valid.
  64. [6:05:09 PM | Edited 6:07:44 PM] Sean M.: Well time wise or not, its the fact that you shouldn't be proud of what bronies have done considering that furries have always done it sooner and more times than them, and considering that its a bigger fandom than bronies, by a wider margin. Also, if you don't know how to treat someone with respect, you probably were raised by child molestors and/or in a slum, in which case, the last thing you'd care about it ponies going on magikl advnturs 2 mk frens.
  65. Because you're saying that everyone human in the world is ugly, which is not true. Notice I was using the casual paradigm of what one would percieve to be beautiful and what one would percieve to be ugly. In a manner of speaking, one could say that technically all humans are both ugly, but one could also say that all humans are beautiful, disregarding looks.
  66. Probs cuz I don't watch the show. Derp.
  67. That's not exactly true. Most people prefer visuals, others prefer methodology. Also, I answered your example, you can't sit there and tell me I percieved it wrong.
  68. So after putting everything together, MLP has no more appeal than colors and talking horses making friends, which doesn't, or I should hope not, appeal to many people. Some bronies, which is another part of why i don't like bronies (or even furries), its that they "claim to be bronies because its popular".
  69.
  70. You should care, because you're losing this debate rather terribly, and you cannot say all of your points are valid if all of them are being countered easily, and because your points are purely from a subjective point of view, while most if not all of my points are attempted to be explained in an objective point of view.
  71. [6:15:29 PM] Sean M.: Due to your long silence, I'll take this as a figurative victory on my part.
