  1. <Wellwick|GM> Wellwick ((Session to this point: https://pastebin.com/KwZntyKe))
  2.
  3. 2:26 PM Divide and conquer was a stratagem as old as warfare itself for good reason. The rest of the Rats fled, some running, some backing up slowly so they could keep their attention on Facsimile.||
  4. 2:28 PM <Sym|Facsimile> ((So some did stay though?))
  5. 2:29 PM <Wellwick|GM> Wellwick ((All of them gone, just the people on your side left))
  6. 2:33 PM <Sym|Facsimile> "That ought to speed things up, although this likely means cape support will be coming. Get started on destroying this place, but be ready to fight or flee again soon." he said to the soldiers. With that said, his fight hadn't gone quite so well as he'd made it out to be. There were some injuries he would need to at least begin to attend to before any more fighting.
  7. 2:34 PM ((Can I read myself for the advantage on medical?))
  8. 2:37 PM <Wellwick|GM> Wellwick ((You can do, but if you get 4-6 you'll get a feedback loop, as your power informs itself))

  14. 2:42 PM <Wellwick|GM> Wellwick Facsimile wasn't flesh and bone, like a regular person, his sense of pain a little stunted. He tried to patch together some of the ceramic, hoping that would help prevent him from taking too much damage, but he was struggling.
  15. 2:43 PM This was exactly why he'd come to speak with Mishmash. He couldn't do this sort of thing by himself.
  16. 2:45 PM ((You can go search for something to patch up some of the ceramic in a hodgepodge sort of way, if you think he would spend any more time after failing))
  17. 2:48 PM <Sym|Facsimile> Facsimile was hoping to do this job here, and then disappear, although he was beginning to think disappearing wouldn't be an option. But with that goal in mind, showing people such a distinctive characteristic as a ceramic/fungal body was not a good move. He set out to if not fix, at least conceal his injuries.

  22. 2:52 PM <Wellwick|GM> Wellwick Good thing it was a warehouse. Even if the primary purpose was less than legal, there was plenty around that he could use. Wooden boxes and planks, the occasional sheet of a material more precious. A short search through a set of cupboards led him to the discovery of some duct tape, that he was able to attach a small boiler plate of metal across his chest.
  23. 2:54 PM It was heavy, enough of a burden that it might make him slower momentarily, but it would serve to give him a little armour before the capes made a reappearance.||
  24. 2:54 PM <Sym|Facsimile> ((So recover my armor slot?))
  25. 2:55 PM <Wellwick|GM> Wellwick ((Treat that as 2 pips of armour, in exchange for a few rolls being a bit more difficult, if you need to do a lot of stuff in a row))
  26. 3:00 PM <Sym|Facsimile> Facsimile was satisfied with this "field dressing", and while it likely wasn't enough to make combat safe, it was enough to prevent the hit to his threats that being injured would
  27. 3:00 PM cause
  28. 3:01 PM He looked around to check on how his soldiers were doing in their tasks.||
  29. 3:03 PM <Wellwick|GM> Wellwick They were in process of raiding the place, collecting things that might be useful. People were discussing on the radio through their earpieces, and it seemed that Harmony had dealt with a similar contingent himself.
  30. 3:03 PM He was laying out the plan for levelling the place, as it seemed he had some tinker technologies which could vibrate the building into crumbling ruins, once they were sure the place was clear of people.||
  31. 3:08 PM <Sym|Facsimile> With his injuries out of the way, Facsimile returned to the job, and began searching for things to take as well. As he began, he asked into coms, "Any sign of enemy reinforcements?"
  32. 3:08 PM ||
  33. 3:11 PM <Wellwick|GM> Wellwick A voice, one of the Circlets outside in the vans said, "can't see nothing from out here."
  34. 3:11 PM "They'll be coming," Harmony said, "give yourself a deadline, a limit on things you'll be taking, because the word will get out fast. They'll hit hard when they come back."
  35. 3:12 PM The man that Facsimile had beaten to the floor was being dragged out of the building, limp even though he might still be awake. A trail of blood followed him out.||
  36. 3:12 PM ← Camtist left (sid157531@whee.eee): ""
  37. 3:14 PM <Sym|Facsimile> Facsimile had done all he could for the man, and it wasn't like he could ask a favor of a gang he already owed.
  38. 3:15 PM Plus, it wouldn't do to disrupt the image he'd constructed. The man was on his own with his new 'mindset' and whatever the Circlets would do with him.
  39. 3:16 PM Facsimile, after a glance his way, turned back to looting the warehouse.||
  40. 3:19 PM <Wellwick|GM> Wellwick A gunshot further into the warehouse was followed by a massive crash. That would be Mishmash, going to work on other Rats.||
  41. 3:22 PM <Sym|Facsimile> Facsimile wanted to do this job as well as possible, so when he revealed that he was the Tinkertech they'd be working on, they would take it well. He considered whether going to assist Mishmash would be doing extra, or disobeying orders. He decided he would take the risk, and went to check on Mishmash.
  42. 3:22 PM |
  43. 3:22 PM ||
  44. 3:26 PM <Wellwick|GM> Wellwick Another huge crash as he turned a corner, a massive set of shelfing shattering apart as Mishmash slammed into it with his full body mass. He clutched two Rats in massive claws, tossed them as he came to land, charging back towards the center again.
  45. 3:27 PM He seemed in control the whole time, using the collapsed shelving to obscure his movements against those who were pulling guns on him. A lucky shot hit him, sinking into flesh, but it barely seemed like he noticed.
  46. 3:28 PM Three other Rats, seemingly trying to shoot at Mishmash as they made their retreat, and Facsimile tracked their route. A catwalk above them, which he might be able to navigate to in time to drop down on them, or he could run through the columns of shelving; risky when Mishmash might collapse them as he saw fit.||
  47. 3:33 PM <Sym|Facsimile> It seemed to Facsimile that by getting involved here, he might be more likely to get in Mishmash's way than to actually assist him. The way he was fighting, it looked like Mishmash was playing with toys, and it wouldn't do to interrupt his fun. Facsimile stepped back, ready to help if his read on the situation was wrong and Mishmash did need help.
  48. 3:34 PM His power called to him to supply information on Mishmash, and he let it.

  51. 3:35 PM <[ATM]> ATM Sym|Facsimile [6] = 6
  52. 3:42 PM <Wellwick|GM> Wellwick His power lit Mishmash up, a full indication that every inch of his being was affected by his technology, with a few specks around the area that indicated how he had smashed it apart in the past few minutes.
  53. 3:44 PM There was something else though, similar to how Harmony's power had been affecting the air in an ambient sense. Something not visible, although this one probably not sensed by anyone /but/ Mishmash: a cord of energy, wavering back and forth pulling away from the center of Mishmash and through the wall of the warehouse.
  54. 3:44 PM It went further, but Facsimile couldn't sense just how far.||
  55. 3:46 PM <Sym|Facsimile> ((Can I roll to find out where the cord goes? Or would Esoteri not cover that?))
  56. 3:49 PM <Wellwick|GM> Wellwick ((It would need to be the active one, aura))
  57. 3:51 PM <Sym|Facsimile> ((oh my bad, thought it was Esoteri.))
  58. 3:52 PM Facsimile was unsure what this meant, he hadn't seen an effect like this before.
  59. 3:52 PM <Wellwick|GM> Wellwick ((I'll be honest, I got confused :S))
  60. 3:52 PM <Sym|Facsimile> ((With something like this, the line between aura and esoteri kinda blurs anyway, it it's what I think it is))
  61. 3:54 PM However, with the read he'd gotten before about the low brain activity from Mishmash, Facsimile was fairly certain he could come to a conclusion: 'Mishmash' was a construct, and the real Tinker was piloting it remotely.
  62. 3:54 PM Not that this information really did anything for him in the current situation, as Mishmash was his ally.
  63. 3:55 PM Something to file away for later though, should it become important.
  64. 3:56 PM Facsimile didn't mention it, but was now certain Mishmash wouldn't need his help, and returned to his sector of the warehouse. ||
  65. 3:59 PM <Wellwick|GM> Wellwick "Rats inbound," a voice came over the radio. "Got a van on the south side of the warehouse."
  66. 3:59 PM "Shit, same over this side-"
  67. 4:00 PM "Alright, stations," Harmony cut in, "I need time to set up the device with my squad. Facsimile, take your squad, deal with one of them, Mishmash will-"
  68. 4:01 PM "Another van over here," someone else cut in. "And, we've, shit, they've got the capes."||
  69. 4:06 PM <Sym|Facsimile> "Everyone, remember, we don't need to win, just stall. I'm gonna try to keep them talking as long as I can to give Harmony more time, but be prepared to engage." He said to the soldiers around him. If there were capes, multiple, then this wouldn't likely be a fight they'd be able to win outright, but stalling was something he could do. He set up to welcome' them. ||

  71. 4:09 PM <Wellwick|GM> Wellwick He hurried out onto the street, his squad joining him again, just in time to see a van approaching. One of the squad mates through a grenade, a pulse of sound rippling out as it landed, and the van shuddered, visibly rippling around the space.

  73. 4:13 PM <Wellwick|GM> Wellwick The van ground to a halt, the back of it kicking open, though the Rats that spilled out looked a little worse for wear.||
  74. 4:18 PM <Sym|Facsimile> Facsimile, always up to for a monologue, said "While I appreciate the dedication to the job, I suggest you consider your options before any rash action. Me an my associates here will be leaving shortly, so I suggest you do the same and drive away before things get, unpleasant."

  79. 4:19 PM <Wellwick|GM> Wellwick ...
  80. 4:21 PM Five Circlets, including Facsimile, which meant that they were outnumbered here with five coming out of the back of the van, two climbing out of the front section. The Rat driver was throwing up, and a couple of others looked like they were struggling on their feet, but the numbers advantage might help.

  85. 4:23 PM <Wellwick|GM> Wellwick One of the Rats had this weird, sinewy white substance on them and was wielding a crowbar. They were one of the more stable ones, it seemed.
  86. 4:24 PM Brocade looked across the intervening distance to the Circlets and the unknown cape, taking in the injuries of a couple of them, the grenades that a few of them still had at their belts, and the gun that one was holding, the shape strange and the muzzle actually a ball.||
  87. 4:24 PM ((Turn order from here on is Brocade, Facsimile, me))
  88. 4:25 PM ((Sym, you do not recognise Brocade as a cape, here))
  89. 4:26 PM ((I may intercept turn order with a ... in order to get some extra info in.))
  90. 4:31 PM <Mall|Brocade> Mallmann This day just keeps getting worse and worse again. Getting in a fight with capes and guns was certainly not in the plan. As the thoughts came, Brocade realized how stupid it was to infiltrate and expect things to not get even more violent. He ran to the side of the van, trying to put something between him and whatever strange device the Circlet was wielding. Silk sticking to the crowbar, it was once again time for a fight.||
  91. 4:32 PM <Sym|Facsimile> ((So my turn then?))
  92. 4:32 PM <Wellwick|GM> Wellwick ((Yep, one of them is hiding already))
  93. 4:33 PM <Sym|Facsimile> ((How unnatural does the stuff on Brocade look?))
  94. 4:34 PM <Wellwick|GM> Wellwick ((Not massively so, and it seems like it's more of an impediment than something they are using))
  95. 4:34 PM ((Like they've been in a prior fight instead of it being a tool))
  96. 4:34 PM <Sym|Facsimile> ((gotcha))

  99. 4:37 PM ((This is a high stakes loss for them, after all))
  100. 4:38 PM ((You could take this turn to try and reinforce that, if you wanted))
  101. 4:39 PM <Sym|Facsimile> Well, naturally it would take more than an uninformed threat to make them back down, but it was worth trying. As for the uninformed part, Facsimile let his power run on the closest one while stepping back to let his team begin fighting.

  109. 4:44 PM <Wellwick|GM> Wellwick Shit, that first part he sensed sounded like their Stranger, Ghost Hand, who could turn things invisible. If he could use that power in conjunction with armour and binding, he would be able to tear their ranks apart.
  110. 4:45 PM It didn't seem right, though. He'd never heard about Ghost Hand being able to bind things, and he tended to leave behind a ghostly after image, which this power didn't seem to have an element of.
  111. 4:45 PM Whatever it was, they were close, probably even in this group.||
  112. 4:45 PM ((Continue your turn, Sym))
  113. 4:48 PM <Sym|Facsimile> Facsimile was both surprised and relieved, with a power like that they could've been a huge problem at an inopportune moment. However, with knowledge of it, this could be turned in his advantage. He whispered into coms, "My squad, be on guard, one of those Rats is a cape in disguise, seems like he has some sort of binding and armor power."
  114. 4:50 PM If he could get further reads, then he'd likely be able to deal with the cape. The hard part would be figuring out which one it was, nothing was sticking out to him yet, but maybe something would come to him. ||
  115. 4:50 PM <Wellwick|GM> Wellwick ...
  116. 4:52 PM The Rats started closing the distance, using their numbers to move quickly. The throw up gun one of the Circlets was wielding managed to arrest the moment of one of them, but they were pretty quickly properly in the fray, except for the one that was hiding behind the van.

  130. 5:01 PM <Mall|Brocade> Mallmann Being out of the spotlight, Brocade had some time to think. Alone, next to the van, he saw the perect opportunity. Wouldn't be the smartest choice to go fight and get outted again. Yet his plan wasn't going to be any smarter. He hopped on the driver's seat and got ready to drive. 198. 5:40 PM Brocade ended up splattering the Rat who had been chasing Facsimile, sending him crashing to the ground again.||
  199. 5:40 PM ((Sym, your go. No armour left, but this guy is clearly out for kills))
  200. 5:43 PM <Sym|Facsimile> Well, if there was a candidate for unknown cape, guy who kills his own 'teammates' would be it. Facsimile was now very injured, and he needed something, anything to rely on. It was a risk if he was wrong, but he was desperate, so Facsimile pushed his power to its limit.

  208. 5:47 PM <Wellwick|GM> Wellwick ((You pass))
  209. 5:47 PM The influx of information nearly brought on a thinker headache, but Facsimile was braced for it. The information he was getting, though, was bizarre.
  210. 5:49 PM Not human, despite what they looked like. They're form didn't match what he was seeing, and he could sense long, powerful legs that could carry this cape fast, moving across distances that could easily outpace him. The form itself would unravel from practically anything, but the person in their was deceptive by nature- they would hate to be exposed for the thing they were inside, especially without it being in their control.
  211. 5:50 PM No connections here, and the motivations for being here seemed purely personal- They only cared about insinuating themselves for their own gain, for information and a finger to the pulse of the gangs.
  212. 5:51 PM ((+1 to brawn, -1 to knowledge, regular across the board apart from that))
  213. 5:51 PM ((No obvious things to disable, but ruining their appearance and exposing them will cause the demoralising strikes to take effect))
  214. 5:52 PM Telloff → Teller
  215. 5:53 PM <Wellwick|GM> Wellwick What could Facsimile use? They were defined by their lies- could he find a way to peel those layers away, expose them for who they really were. There was a criminal history there, and resentment for the system that caught him.||
  216. 5:53 PM ((You can still talk as a free action, Facsimile, but that's it))
  217. 5:54 PM <Sym|Facsimile> ((Will the precog sense just help me dodge later then?))
  218. 5:55 PM <Wellwick|GM> Wellwick ((You'll be able to use it in your next turn too))
  219. 5:57 PM <Sym|Facsimile> Facsimile saw the weaknesses, and wanted to exploit them as he often did, but in this state he couldn't take his usual route of unbalancing someone. He certainly didn't want to risk angering a dangerous cape who clearly wasn't afraid to kill.
  220. 6:03 PM What he was about to do probably wouldn't fly with the Circle, so Facsimile muted his coms. The rest of the squad would probably be too preoccupied to pay attention to him, but he could deal if they weren't. "Looks like you don't belong to the Rats huh?. Well then, I have a proposition for you, if you're inclined to listen." he said to the cape.
  221. 6:04 PM <Wellwick|GM> Wellwick ...

  232. 6:09 PM ||
  233. 6:10 PM <Wellwick|GM> Wellwick There was uproar from the rest of the Rats and Circlets, but the van effectively separated the two of them from the fighting.||
  234. 6:10 PM ((We can cut straight to you Mall))
  235. 6:12 PM <Mall|Brocade> Mallmann Fuck fuck fuck. Running people over sure is not the best experience. The sound of the tin bouncing off bone and flesh. This was worse than anything he ever did in his life.
  236. 6:15 PM So why did he feel so strong? So feared? Standing behind the wheel, his mind was a mess. Woken up by the words of the cape, threatening to send him back to prison.
  237. 6:17 PM How the fuck did he know? Sure. Go for the cape. What a stupid idea. But here. Now. Getting outted again. Brocade was pissed. Kicking the door of the van open, crowbar in hand. He faced his accuser.
  238. 6:20 PM "I could tear you up piece by piece." Blood was boiling now. Thought weren't reaching ends. "And you are threatening me?".

  241. 6:24 PM <Sym|Facsimile> Ugh, if only. Threats came so easy to him, so why couldn't coercion go so well. It also seemed from the reactions that he hadn't been as secretive as he thought. So Facsimile would try again, softer this time. "No, I'm not threatening you, just trying to argue the facts. The Rats are headed down, even if you kill me and the whole squad. Continued involvement with them will likely end up with you back in prison.
